Alexander King is taking a break, spending time with Natalie, and finally living life like a civilian. The problem for him is that the bad guys never take a day off.
An enemy from King's past has been watching him, and his family. Everything they are doing is to throw this special operator off his game. And it's working.
While they shroud King and his team in a smoke screen, their very real, and sinister plot threatens thousands of American lives. If King and his team don't see through the misdirection, a lot of people are going to die.
From California to Paris, through London, and back to the United States via Montana, King and his team chase their tails, and the bad guys, desperately trying to end the game they've been forced to play before it blows up in King's beloved country's face.
This fast-paced action story had Xander and the team chasing ghosts. Several old favorite characters appeared to help save the team and the country from evil. With threats to his family, Xander is determined to keep them safe while figuring out just who is after him and why.
I’ve been reading Bradley Wright's books since the beginning, and this is one of my favorites!
Though he does it without mass appeal, Wright's King series is one of the best out there for action. Much as Daniel Silva's Gabriel Allon group always comes back together, so too does Alexander King's. Feels like an eternity since Wright first introduced Xander and the character has developed along the series. Smoke Screen is no different. Deception, fast paced action and humor packed into one.
Book Review – Smoke Screen – Bradley Wright Though author Bradley Wright writes great action thriller novels without mass appeal, his Alexander King series is one of the best out there for action. Like other action thriller special operations’ teams that come together during covert assignments and operations, so too does Xander King's special ops operators. “Smoke Screen” is no different. Deception laden, fast paced action and humorous dialogue all packed into one, Smoke Screen had me on the edge of my seat the entirety of the book! From California to Paris, to London, and back to the United States via Montana, Xander King and his team chase their tails, and the bad guys, desperately trying to end a sinister plot from a past adversary to save thousand of people's lives. King and his team don't see through the misdirection and are forced to play a dangerous game full of twist and turns on a wild action thriller ride. This book would be a great action movie! Tremendous action, comical humor, and chummy comradery, book 6 in the series is probably my favorite. An absolute wild and fun read!
What can I say other than I didn't see that one coming!!! You'd need to have read all the books to truly understand how special this one is and how well written. I could easily see this series being picked up by one of the big streamers. Yes there's reacher but there's no great TEAMS out there with a great leader in this genre. I hope to hear it's picked up soon
Xander King books would be great as a movie! I wish Hollywood or The Canadian industry would get a hold of these books. The Prequels were great too. I read these on Kindle, but I would like to get all in book form in order to start from the beginning. Great job!
This book was the most suspenseful for me. It grabs you from page one and keeps you going until you realize who the villain really is. A few appearances from previous characters to help Xander get the job done. Very fast paced and hard to put down. Looking forward to Spy Ring, the seventh in the series.
Couldn’t put it down. Captures your attention right from the start. All of my favorite characters of Xanders team are invoked and some old characters join the chase. Read it in one day it was so fast moving without lulls in action.
Another roller coaster of twists and turns could not put it down. So many twists and turns on every page Bradley you smashed this out the park And I for one can't wait for Spy Ring hurry up and get it done lol 😆
Another excellent book by Wright! All the characters together again with a few old ones joining in and a good plot twist as well. Fast paced and action packed. I thoroughly enjoy these characters and would love to see King in the movies!
This book as all 5 before it is extremely well written. It grabs the reader and doesn’t let go with its twists and turns culminating in a very enjoyable and entertaining read.
The sixth book in the series was just as great as the last five. Continuing to character build and creating wonderful plots with never-ending turns, Brad Wright literally kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end!
As always I was lifted to a complex world of government and the bad guys. I get tense when I’m reading all of his books, but I am immediately pulled in as if I were there. Keep on writing this series. Love it!
The Smoke Screen kept X guessing and wondering what was going on until it seemed to clear… Then, it was thicker than before! But in the end, The Team came through and cleared the smoke. Great story here. You’ll like it!
I love the dynamics between the characters and would love a scenario where X is not being outsmarted and led by the nose by the villain. In every book it's the same story and disappointing. The only saving grace is the character development.
Highly recommended. Great Series. A lot of actions. Fast pace. Well written. Love the Characters and the Plot. Just hate I have to wait for the next books
This book had me on the edge of my seat. So much action. It was funny some of the things they said to each other. But I loved how close they worked together.
In typical Bradley Wright style, the book is filled with suspense and action to keep you entertained and reading ferociously to get to the end. A fabulous read.
Great fun, heart stopping, pounding action. I am exhausted and out of breath. This Alexander King character is mor super than James Bond. A great escape!
Good read and good series that keeps you reading and interested. Exciting fast moving thriller. I couldn’t put the book down and wanted to keep reading until the end.
