I've been the bodyguard for a lot of celebrities. But I've never protected someone like Luke August.
I'm assigned to the rookie wide receiver for the Salt Lake City Stallions. But Luke's skeptical of having a woman as a bodyguard. It's only after I prove myself that he starts trusting me. And the feelings don't stop there...
Luke is ten years my junior, and fresh out of college, but I can't keep my eyes off him. Broad shoulders, lines of perfect muscle, and piercing blue eyes that would make any girl swoon. And as we become friends, I notice him sending flirting glances in my direction, too.
But Luke is being blackmailed by an anonymous fan. Someone who tries to break his arm, and sends threatening letters in the mail. Can I focus long enough to keep my client safe? And if so, will the Stallions complete their perfect season?
FINAL DRIVE is a scorching sports romance filled with humor, suspense, and football-related excitement. HEA guaranteed!
I loved this action packed story. The characters were well developed and complex. A must read!
Cazzie Price is a bodyguard and former Army MP.
Luke August is the new rookie for the Salt Lake City Stallions NFL team. After his first game Luke gets assaulted in the parking garage of his condo building. The team hires Cazzie as his bodyguard until the perp can be caught. Luke acts like a jerk about having a female bodyguard until she proves him wrong. He gets threatened again outside the locker room and at his apartment. Meanwhile the two start falling for each other, but Cazzie told him she was into girls when they first met. They finally resolve that issue and she tells her boss they are dating. She gets offered a dream job - long term and in Europe - and it could end their relationship. Luke decides to deal with the person threatening him and Cazzie has to decide about her job offer before they get their HEA.

Hero's neighbor flirts with him and he returns it. He asks the heroine about going out for sushi and says he's excited because it's been so long since he was on a date. She gets all dolled up, then they pick up that same neighbor -- his date. I was pissed. Hero and neighbor dance. She grinds on him. Snuggles against him. Throws out all the open for business hints she can. Dismisses the heroine once they're back at Hero's...and he backs that up. Thankfully, nothing happens. They share a drink, he sends her home. She tries to reconnect after that, but Hero always blows her off. While I'm glad nothing physically intimate happened, what did was too much for me. I only finished the book out of curiosity to see how all that would play out. The neighbor thing -- in ALL aspects -- ruined what could have otherwise been a good story.

I loved reading Cazzie & Luke's will they won't they story they didn't get off on the best footing when he found out she was his bodyguard but things changed. He didn't want a bodyguard but after his stalker was still going for him he had no choice but gradually things changed between them & became friends they knew their time together was only temporary but neither knew what would happen between them when the time for her to leave came. This story had so many wonderful new characters to love aswell as our friends from the other books it was fun, sass, steam, drama & the surprise reveal of his attacker. I definitely recommend reading this series it's fantastic.

Luke is a right out of college rookie who is attacked after his first game of the season. Because of the attack, the team assigns him a body guard, Cazzie, who just happens to be a woman almost 10 years older than him. Things start out a bit rough between them. Luke makes some super misogynistic comments about a woman being his bodyguard and Cazzie pretends to be a lesbian to keep Luke and the other football players from hitting on her. Not surprisingly though, the close proximity an a lot of time together leads to Cazzie and Luke developing some feelings for each other.
This has been a fun series to read. I love the series where you continue to interact with characters from earlier books.
Final Drive can be found on kindle unlimited if you have it.
I just LOVED this story! Caz is such a kickbutt and strong woman - both mentally and physically. She is assigned to be Luke's bodyguard but he is a bit skeptical of how much she could actually protect him but soon changes his tune. The chemistry between these two are off the charts, but they will need to figure out a few things in their lives to make it all work. I found this such a steamy read with a great dose of family love, team support (love seeing past characters) and also watching them grow. Definitely a must read!.

In this book we meet Cazzie Price & Luke August. Luke is just excited to be in the NFL. So when he is attacked he thinks it is a simple mugging. The thing is he is scared now. Cazzie is ready for a real assignment when she is placed with Luke she thinks this will be a step up for her. But the more she hears him talk the more she wonders if it is more of a joke. Can these two find a HEA or will they end up killing one another by the end?
Another amazing hit by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Luke has been attacked and his team gm hires a security guard for him. As much as he doesn't want to admit, the attacks have rattled him. However he wasn't expecting a female bodyguard. There is sparks between Luke and Cazzie that slowly evolve into love. I liked how good Cazzie that slowly evolves into love. I liked how good Cazzie was at her job and the recognition she got. Luke's plan to stop the threats was dangerous but Cazzie saved the day. The epilogue was a nice touch to this story.
"Final Drive" is a fantastic ending to the Lake City Stallions series. I have enjoyed every installment of this series. Final Drive is another well written story with great characters. I enjoyed the story and seeing the evolution of the characters that we met in the earlier books. Luke and Cazzie have great chemistry and their story has suspense, intrigue, and several laugh out loud moments. I loved all of the characters in this series and this was a great ending. I look forward to more from KT Quinn.

This was another amazing read in this series. I love reading sports romances and this one did not disappoint. I loved the first person point of view of the story which is a deal breaker for me and also for this story was very fitting. 5 stars. Our MMC is a professional football player and needs a bodyguard because of the recent death threats and attacks he'd been recieving. Here enters our FMC, very good at her job and professionally trained. The story takes a bit YA twists in some parts where our FMC shows a little of her insecurity, but overall they're a nice couple. This is a mid-length story.
Mixed feelings about this one… I found the storyline to be a bit far fetched for me but KT Quinn is such a great story teller that I still enjoyed reading it. I have absolutely loved reading this series and getting to know all the characters - I’m sad that this is the final book.
I loved this one just as much as all the other books in the series. I especially love the steaminess! 🔥 And I love how all the characters are tied together in the end. I didn’t realize sports romance could be this good!
Another great addition to the series. Really enjoyed reading about Luke’s story. Great chemistry between the characters and fab read. Highly recommended
Luke is a top draft pick rookie receiver, excited to play with the Super Bowl winning Stallions. But when someone attacks him, he’s scared for his safety. Enter Cazzie, his new bodyguard - surprise! These two have a great story, from sorta-enemies to friends to lovers. I always love everything about a K T Quinn sports romance, and this one was no exception. Luke’s family is a hoot, especially Theresa who calls football ‘sports-ball’ and told Luke to score some runs. Just a truly fantastic story.
