One of Those Days #5

A Whipped Cream Kind of Day

Rate this book
Sometimes the only thing that will make a day better is whipped cream and sprinkles.

When Remy dodges a flying coffee cup from an insane lawyer and ends up quitting his job, he’s not sure what to do. The one thing he knows is that whipped cream makes everything better, and the strange barista who’s offered him a job can’t be worse than the lawyers…right?

Some days things just don’t go quite as expected…even when you’re a Dom who likes everything planned out.

Brooks had thought he’d done his due diligence before he’d gone to work with the new firm. He hadn’t, and now he not only has to figure what’s next, he has to figure out how to fix things with the sweetest and shyest admin he’s ever met…if he can figure out where his perfect cutie, and hopefully sub, has disappeared to.

When a shy boy meets a cautious Daddy, sometimes they need a push to find their happily ever after—but what else are friends for?

A Whipped Cream Kind of Day is the 5th book in the One of Those Kind of Days serie by M.A. Innes. This book is about Brooks and Remy. If you read previous books you already came across Remy as the cute guy getting coffee for the lawyers. He quits his job there after dodging a coffee cup that went flying. Brooks is one of the lawyers working there but he's been only there for a little while. After hearing what happened he leaves the firm and goes looking for Remy, who now works for Skyler (book 3).

I really loved their story. It was sweet, cute, sexy, full of feels, fun and very well written.

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. It so cute the little brain melts that Remy has,  (which is just to cute to not witness) watching him grow in his convince was just an added bonus to this sweet and spicy story.  Big boy or baby boy, Remy is just so adorably sweet with his awkwardness. I just love that Remy isn't a traditional little, but then again normal is overrated. Brooks is so getting a bonus or is that Remy?

Remy is in meltdown modewhen a partner hurls a mug at the cutie in the office, he runs to the one place that bring him comfort. Skylar takes Remy under his fabulously protective wing, never mustering the courage that he see Skyler betray. It's funny reading Brooks squirm around just to meet with Remy as well as apologize for the office's behavior. With Skyler's dramatic flare, Brooks has a date, when all he came in the coffee shop was to checkin with Remington. Then again that doesn't seem to bother Brooks with what he is looking for. Getting Remy to trust him enough to let go was his goal, that was if Skyler didn't run interference. Someone maybe in need a time out and a IOU. It shouldn't have surprised Brooks when he was looking out for Remy before he even really spoke to him that was his caretaker/daddy nature coming forward. So many sides to Remy, that it was everything Brooks ever won't all rolled in one.

Wow wow wow!!! You won’t believe the delicious, sweet, naughty surprises this one has. I adore Remy. He surprised me the most. And Brooks is an amazing Daddy Dom. I love his playfulness. Together they are so adorable and sweet with a sexiness that will have your kindle smoking. Plus we got full on Skyler too. I am curious about all the littles and pups who go to the Saturday meet up he does at the coffee shop. With the way the customers are I’m sure they are an interesting bunch.

I don't remember anything about this. I finished it a week ago and instead of writing review like a good little reader I have procrastinated all of my reviews, joy. Like I remember the basic details but I had to look at the summary to remember their names so do it that way you will. It's a very middle of the road book one that I could take or leave.

Remy (sub/little) & Brooks (Daddy).

Daddy / boy pairing with adult sub, “big boy”, and “little” dynamics.

Brooks is a lawyer. Remy works for his firm as an admin until he up and quits after the “last straw” of abuse: one of the partners throwing a mug of pencils at him. Brooks follows him out the door after making sure Remy got a good severance package.

Remy ends up working in a cafe. Skyler, Remy’s boss, reminds me of Eli from the author’s Leashes & Lace series - Eli. A nosy, flamboyant sub making sure everyone who is “his” is taken care of.

Love of whipped boy cream and Daddy daze

People are different. That keeps things interesting and loving. But differences are important, too.

It is difficult to grow up without family support for any reason, but once you are separated and isolated, it becomes much harder to develop relationships that fulfill the needs unmet at an younger age.

BDSM can be a way to meet similar people and fulfill the desires in a safe manner, but it is not for everyone. It can be perfect for those who understand the needs and wish to share, care, and dare to be happy.

"A Whipped Cream Kind of Day" is the final book in M.A. Innes One of Those Days series. I have enjoyed reading about each of the boys and their Daddies, but I really loved Remy and Brooks. Remy is so sweet and shy. He can barely get his words out sometimes. When he tells the story of his childhood, I cried with him because it became very clear why he had trouble trusting.

Brooks also had some baggage due to a toxic past relationship that also affected his work. So we had a sweet, shy boy and a cautious, careful Daddy who in the end were absolutely perfect for each other. I loved how Brooks approached his relationship with Remy. He was very careful about not pushing too fast but allowing Remy to set the pace. I also loved that Remy had so many different sides: sweet, shy little who loved coloring and sexy submissive sub. It was interesting to see when each side would come out to play.

The supporting cast was as entertaining as usual. Skylar definitely made his presence known. I loved the patrons in the coffee shop and how invested they were in Brooks' and Remy's relationship. Maybe a little more than is healthy, but it made for some funny moments. I am very intrigued by "Loki" and "Tony Stark". What is happening there and will we see them in the future? I hope so!

I adore M.A. Innes' books because I know that I will always feel good after reading them. The entire time, I know that I have a smile on my face because the characters are so sweet and caring. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves a Daddy/little story.

2.5* maybe 2.75* Nothing particularly wrong with it but I just kind of found it boring and Skyler (who annoys me anyway) played such a big role, I was annoyed by him again.

Remy is the admin assistant for the asshole law firm who quits after a lawyer throws a mug at him and Skyler bullies him into working for him. Maybe railroads. Brooks is someone Skyler knows who was a new lawyer at the firm who comes looking for Remy to make sure he's okay and Skyler bullies them into dating (which Brooks wanted to anyway). Remy is super-shy, like can barely speak but wants to be a lawyer. I kept wondering how he was ever going to function in court if he could barely handle serving coffee to someone without freaking out.

This one is a bit more hardcore because while Remy is a little, he's all way into pain so there are more scenes of that than of him being a little. So much of this took place in the coffee shop with Skyler being a PITA (and bullying them both into working for him), that I just wasn't all that interested and the sex scenes were quite extensive so I skimmed most. *shrug* Maybe I need a break from this series as well. Lots of repetition of phrases and hugged me like a squeaky-toy. What does that even mean? And the use of silly way too many times (50). Silly Daddy, Silly boy, etc. So eh, not for me I guess.

Skyler has to be one of the funniest characters MA has written. He has a dash of Eli, a hint of Kevin and maybe even a tad bit of Destin in him. The best part of Skylar's personality is his need to take care of those he considers his family.

We learn in Skyler's book that he hates the lawyers across the street and hates that Remy is working for them. When Remy shows up to drown his sorrows in whipped cream and sprinkles, he ends up with a job.

This was a really sweet conclusion to this fun little series. Getting to know this group of guys was so fun and I dearly hope they make there way into the lives of the other littles.

Brooks may be my favorite Daddy out of the 5 of them. His interactions with Skyler are really hilarious. He's a sweet, but naughty Daddy and I loved it.

My only complaint with this book and the other books in this series, is that we didn't get much of them in their little headspace. I would have loved to have a little bit more of that, but other than that one little thing, this series was great. I've already re-read a couple of the books because I just enjoy the characters so much.

I cannot wait for the next book. I'm excited to see who we met next!

When Remy dodges a flying coffee cup from an insane lawyer and ends up quitting his job he is not sure what to do but whipped cream and sprinkles make everything better and so he goes to the coffee shop only for the strange barista to offer him a job. Brooks thought he had done his due diligence before he want to work for the new firm but he hadn't and so needs to figure out what to do next plus he needs to work out what to do to fix things with the sweetest and shiest admin he has ever met (If he can figure out where he as disappeared to). I loved this story with the outrageous Skylar playing a continuously interfering cupid between the shy boy/sub and the determined Daddy. Brooks had to go carefully as he did what he needed to do to gain the confidence and trust of the shy Remy who was just a cutie. I was so pleased that everything was worked out so that he could work, study and eventually qualify as the lawyer that he wanted to be. Easy to read, feel and understand it was a delightful journey to make with the characters. This is a short mature content MM story containing a BDSM D/s and DDLB relationship.

"A whipped cream kind of day" is a part of a series but each book follows a different couple so it can be read as a standalone.
In this book the main characters are Remy a law student and Brooks a lawyer. They both just started working at the same law firm but they soon discover that the environment is really toxic. After a horrible incident they end up quitting.
Remy starts working at a cafe where Brooks is a regular and when they meet again sparks fly and feelings develop. They get some help from the rich and eccentric cafe owner, Skyler, and the very interesting cos-tumers. The cafe felt like a big meddling family and Skyler had the biggest heart. I really enjoyed that part of the book, it was very entertaining.
Remy was super shy and absolutely adorable and Brooks was very sweet and caring and really playful. I loved every interaction between and I thought that they had perfect chemistry. I loved reading their romance and seeing their story unfold.
The pacing of the book was amazing, I had a great time reading it. It was romantic and sweet and cozy.

I received a free ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review.

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of this author and this book is the perfect example of why. It's one of my absolute favourites!!

Remy was so sweet and endearing that he stole a piece of my heart right from the first chapter.

I loved how Skyler was so protective of Remy. Making sure he was looked after properly and working in the right direction on every level. I wish my local coffee shop was as fabulous as Skylers

Brooks was a great Daddy for Remy. He was so caring and warm??

"how about you show me your fort too?"
"I have big sheets. " Pulling back, I couldn't help myself. I had to tell him. "They're really big ones and they're thin so they don't fall."
They were organised sized...but I wasn't sure that was something I should tell a real Daddy. He seemed like the type to not want his boy saying big boy naughty words.
And I was kind of hoping he wanted me to be his boy.

This is a beautiful, erotic and sweet story of a boy and his Daddy. It makes me want a squeaky toy hug.

Whipped Cream Kind of Day is the 5th book in the One of Those Days series by author M.A. Innes. This is not a standalone novel. I loved meeting people we know and love from other books. This story is told in dual POV and really suits this storyline. This is a fun read I loved it!

Remy is saving up for law school. He has just quit his job when one of the lawyers throws a cup of pencils at him. He is sweet and shy. He is also not your typical little. I loved getting to know Remy.

Brooks is a natural caretaker. He is a lawyer and he left when he heard about one of the lawyers throwing a full cup of pencils at Remy. He wants to take care of him make sure he is okay. Brooks might be cautious, but he knows there is something about Remy that just draws him in. I personally loved his sense of humor and the love he gives Remy.

Overall, this is a sweet, well-done story. I loved it. I cannot wait to see if there will be more to this series in the future.

This was... interesting. I'm not a big fan of Daddy books, so this was a surprise. Especially since this is the first book in the series that I read, Skyler was so... surprisingly blunt and dramatic. Also, this is a really bizzare introduction. Like... I can't really say it's insta-love since Remy was a bit shy, but the just from "I just got fired" to "OMG, I'm going on a date" was super fast, which was unexpected. As someone who didn't read the other books in the series before reading this one, this kind of progression felt off, especially since in my opinion the blurb made it seem like the romance would come at around 50% of the book, not immediately.

The whole "Little" thing was too datailed for my not-familiar-with-Daddy-books brain, and the crowd always acted like they're in a sitcom. Overall good read, but it certainly does have noticeable elements of fiction (hecc, anywhere Skyler's at makes the whole story surreal), unlike other books I read that keep close to reality as much as they can. If I were to describe this, I'd say, "surprising", Lol.

The characters in MA Innes' books are always colorful and often have sad backstories. Bad relationships, selfish partners, horrible parents and families. But with a little bit of Innes magic Littles/Middles/Subs always find their Daddies/Doms/boyfriends. Sweet stories. Fun reads.
Skylar, the coffee shop/real estate mogul is a third MC in this story. And even though they threaten (and I really wish the other characters would follow through on this threat), no one ever tells his Daddy., the clueless professor. Watching Remy and Brooks get together was fun. Skylar's over the top interference? Not so much.
Will there be a book six? There's a hint about it. And I would believe it might be a Pup/Master story. Can't wait!

Wow , Remy the sweet shy sub leaves his job after having a cup of pencils thrown at him, and starts working for the flamboyant Skyler. Skyler organizing his life for him.
Then when Brooks finds out what has happened at the law firm to make Remy leave he goes over to the cafe to see him. Skyler is in full protective mode, not wanting Brooks to upset him.
Absolutely love the way Skyler looks out for Remy, and brings/pushes Remy and Brook together.
Brooks being the perfect daddy for Remy to explores little side and naughty sub side
Absolutely loved Remy and Brooks, and Skyler's interference was great.

This is such a sweet story. There's Remy, a very shy young man who had a troubled childhood, studying to become a lawyer. He's working at a law firm when one of the partners throws a mug of pencils at him and he quits. Brooks is a caretaker, Daddy/Dom, who works at the same firm and was attracted to Remy. He was not at work the day of Remy's incident. He's so upset about the way Remy was treated, he decides to help Remy by getting the law firm to give Remy a severance package in exchange for Remy not sueing the firm for the mug incident.
This is a heartfelt story about a very shy young man who had a troubled childhood wanting to become a lawyer to help troubled children and a Daddy looking for that special Boy to care for and love. I'm looking forward to the next book!

After having a horrible experience at work which led to him quitting, Remy goes to the one place that is familiar to him, Skylers coffee shop.
Skyler in his uniqueness, takes over and Remy finds his life changing.

Brooks is a lawyer dedicated to his job, when he hears about Remys incident, he wants to right the wrongs that occurred.
Being enamoured with the shy Remy and thanks to Skylers meddling, Brooks finds himself moving forward with the adorable sub.

This was a sweet, low angst read, filled with giggles, tender moments and a caretaker Daddy Dom who met the perfect boy/sub for him.
An absolutely adorable read.

I received an ARC copy of this book and I´m doing an honest review.
I liked this a lot, I was having a hard month and needed some lighthearted book. This was wonderful!
From the secondary characters like Loki, Tony and Skyler to the MCs it was difficult to stop reading. A very smooth story, with no angst whatsoever was exactly what I needed and that is what I got.
Brooks is the perfect daddy to sweet Remy and seeing them falling for each other made me smile and enjoy. The book is well written, easy to read and with interesting and well developed characters.
MA Innes always leave me wanting for a new story.

This series is so much fun, and the romance of Remy and Brooks fits in well. These two love fun, naughtiness, and big hugs. They put up with Skyler's loving insanity, and their relationship grows in front of the audience of nosy coffee shop customers.
I love the different aspects of the relationship. Brooks is the best daddy and dom Remy could have for his little boy, big boy, and sexy submissive sides. There are some very hot scenes! There is also a lot of love, with no real angst. These two are very quickly sure of each other and the strength of their feelings. I love this series, these characters, and this terrific book!

A whipped cream kind of day is the fifth book in the One of those days series, a series about Daddy’s and boys. I love this series and had the luck to get an ARC of this book.

This book is about the shy lawyer practican Remy we met already in the last book and Brooks, also working in the same company. After things Escalade for Remy at work, both meet in the coffee shop and their story starts. As usual M.A. writes very emotional and steamy. She has a gift to tell us the story, so that we are in the story.

I highly recommend the book and I’m looking forward to the next books.

This was the perfect mix of sweet age-play along with sexy Dom/sub time! I love all the boys and Daddies from this series, but Remy and Brooks might be my very favorite. Getting Remy out of that crazy lawyer firm was essential, and I loved Sawyer taking over charge of his work life, but Brooks did an amazing job of taking over everything else in Remy's life, with all the best results! Yeah, this whole series is going onto my re-read shelf for when I'm stressing out over whatever else I have to read due to the challenges I commit myself to reading.

Whipped Cream and Sprinkles

I love this series! It is sweet and funny and loving. This book is about a college student working towards law school and an older lawyer that both end up with a bad law practice. They retreat to the nearby coffee shop, and with a little help from Skyler, fall in love! Romantic, sweet, funny, with elements of D/s thrown in - this book had all the feels and a wonderful HEA!

On The Edge Of Crazy.

MM, Shy boy/Cautious Daddy, Kink, Contemporary, Romance. Easy to read page-turner with more heat than a thermometer can measure, great characters with lots of sweet, steamy, witty, humorous and kinky moments. Absolutely brilliant read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading their story. I believe that the book can be read as a stand-alone with no loss of enjoyment or understanding but reading the series can only enhance your enjoyment. Guaranteed HEA.

Cuteness

The two are super cute together. I like how they mesh and how Skyler pushes both of their buttons. They are there for each other and want to be the best they can be for the other.

I find this book to be funny, cute, and sweet. There are lots of giggles going on and many sweet moments. If you want low angst then this is fight up your alley.

What a fun read! Lots to chuckle about with Skyler being in the story! I love his heart and with Remy he is super protective and nosy!

Remy and Brooks are a great couple that talk really well with each other even if Remy gets shy about it!

They are a sexy, fun, loving and spirited couple that bring out the best in each other!

This series is awesome!

A little different

I liked Remy and Brooks. Remy is so sweet and shy, with a hidden naughty streak. Brooks is a fun Daddy with a naughty Dom side. And of course Skylar was up to his nosy, but well meaning, antics.
