2.5 stars ⭐️⭐️💫
This was just meh…it started off good but fell flat 40% in. I already had guessed who was behind the attacks right from the start. It was a no-brainer and so obvious.. Lana started out strong and such a bad ass, but that even faded as the book continued. By then I lost interest that I started skimming through the chapters.

Incredible book from a baby author - Lana is amazing and it’s so good to see a woman who takes control and doesn’t need men to make her decisions for her. Absolutely adored the plot and enjoyed the development of each character. Highly recommended read!

I flew through the first half of this book. There was so much happening and it was so exciting I just couldn’t put it down. Lana is a fireball! She will not put up with anything from anyone and is fiercely loyal which are qualities I love seeing in a FMC. She definitely holds her own during most of the book and proves how tough she is over and over again. That inner monologue of hers had me giggling several times as she’d think things I know I would be too in the same situation.
As for the spice while it may take some time to get there boy it is worth it when it does! There were some things mixed in those moments that made them feel a tad different from most of your typical spicy scenes. If you like dirty talk from your MMC then you will definitely enjoy this one. Whew.. the things he says sometimes will have you straight melting!
Lastly, the plot was exciting and kept my interest easily. It wasn’t complicated to follow along with either, even though a lot was happening and things were moving at a fast pace. It never felt rushed to me, just high intensity due to the situations they are in. There were for sure a few twists and surprises that had my jaw dropping in shock. Even one moment where I was legit holding my breath not sure if I wanted to know what was happening next. 😅I love it when a book can do that to me!
Honestly, this was more of a 4.5 stars book if it would let me rate it as such, but it was so close to being a 5 star read for me. I think if the ending, while it was good, would have given me just a little something..I don’t know, more.. I could have easily bumped it up to 5. Though as long as it keeps me on the edge of my seat I consider that a win, and win it did! Definitely don’t pass this one up if you like mafia romance that’s on the darker side!

4.5 Princess Stars!! 💙
I've been wanting to pick up Ms.Pauley's work for quite some time now! As soon as this beauty was announced i could not contain my excitement for it! With every teaser, it had me wanting to pick it up even more. I started reading it as soon as i could and from then on i didn't want to put it down! I loved it!
Alannah and Connor's journey had me hooked from beginning to end! I was so glad that i got to jump into both of their minds and dig deeper with them. Their story not only kept me on the edge of my seat, but my heart racing as well. I loved how i felt so many emotions throughout with these two!
Alannah's strength and the way she wasn't one to back down was something i so admired! I couldn't wait to peel back Connor's layers and oh how i fell for him! The chemistry between Alannah and Connor was undeniable and all kinds of blushworthy goodness! I wasn't sure how everything was going to play out and i was glued to my kindle until the very end!
With Caged, Ms.Pauley has created such a fantastically addictive read that i couldn't turn away from! She brought the darkness, suspense, and heat in the best of ways! I am kicking myself for not having picked up her work sooner but i am so happy that i got to with this book! I can't wait for more from her! Don't miss out! 💙

So many questions surround Alannah, Connor and the mystery man that is trying to kill Alannah. She is a strong female that truly loves and cares about all the people under her command. This book was so good! It was full of action from beginning to end. The twists and turns were all worth the read!!

So this was the first book that I've read by this author, but it definitely won't be the last!
Normally I'm a fast reader but this book took me a bit longer as being a standalone there was so much to unpack in the very best way.
This book is a dark and gritty read and I couldn't get enough.
Be prepared to be on the edge of your seat while bombshells keep dropping while the blood flows.
The female main character is an inspiration in a underworld type way.
And the male one has a lot of explaining to do, but will she be level headed enough to think before she acts?
Highly recommend this amazing book, so make sure you one click immediately.
Can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.

Plot Heavy Slow Burn!
I went into this book thinking it would be the typical smut-heavy, plot-lite gang/Mafia story and nothing could be further from the truth. Romance yes, but also one of the most twisted plots I've read in a while. I truly didn't make the right connections for an embarrassing (to me) length through the book. One of the biggest appreciations I had was the relationships between our heroine and her right hand man and new friends. Many books isolate the main couple, and the ability to write relationships that were fleshed out and believable without sex involved was refreshing. There is high drama, lots of back stories, and a relatively slower burn. An excellent book for those wanting to engage with with a plot line with more depth and action than just straight romance.

The highs. The lows. The feelings.
This book hit home for me and made me remember what it was like to lose a parental figure. I cried when Alannah went through her losses. I was mad when she was mad. I was frantic when Conner was frantic...
I can't recommend this book enough. If you're able to, take it and run! Be prepared to be pissed at the world and cry at the same time.

Don’t plan anything but reading this title.
The plot weaves with Alannah as the strong female character between the Frosts, Creeds, and Kincaids, Just when you think you figured out the monster you doubt your own mind.
This book gives you danger, romance, and a feel good of inspiring loyalty to change for good.
Definitely recommend this book. One of my favorite reads!

Total kick arse female Lana doesn’t disappoint. Not your average female that’s for sure! Love her! The incredibly twisty unpredictable plot keeps you on the edge of your seat and the angsty romance makes you swoon. You can’t put it down you NEED to know what happens. Highly addictive!

Definitely read this book if you are mafia/gang book lover! The beginning is a little information-heavy without much detail, but as you keep reading, you'll get all those details and more. Alannah is great strong FMC, very determined and independent. Connor is a bad boy who has always had feelings for her, but took a long time to say anything about it. Connor is easy to fall in love with. I loved the tension and banter between Alannah and Connor!!
The story comes together perfectly and brings you along for a wild ride with great characters. It is definitely worth the read!!!

She is an independent and strong woman. She fights for equality and a better city. I love how she does not solely rely on her friends to save her. They all help each other. Teamwork does make the dream work.
The relationship between her father and her is very realistic. Despite their differences, they love each other and will do anything to make the other person happy. Their hunger for revenge is based on the sadness and loss the other person experienced.

This is a mafia book, so the book is not suitable for -18 for many reasons, and the romance is a massive part of it. The romance is intense and leaves nothing open to the imagination. I do not mind reading a book like this; however, I think they moved a bit too fast with the relationship. It went from wanting to kill him to this is my soul mate very quickly. This does not mean that I do not love the couple, they are amazing, and I love their backstory.

There were some cracks in the logic, and some parts seemed rushed. For instance, the huge secret turned out to be rather anticlimactic, in my opinion.

Dark Romance with a female lead that is a force to be reckoned with! Alannah is smart, funny, kind and ruthless when it comes to carving her own place in the world. Not content to be "Caged" by the misogynistic views of the men that inhabit her world she proves them wrong at every turn. The book was face paced, and the characters were well written with depth and range. There were a few moments that felt predictable, but in a good way. Watching story lines and plots unfold and waiting for the characters to catch up to what I thought I knew enhanced the reading experience. I never felt like the story lagged. The spice was detailed and well written. There are some possible triggers but the author discloses what those are in the beginning and I felt that her descriptions were in depth for those needing that info.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys dark romance, friends to enemies to lovers, and gang/ mafia dynamics. The book ended leaving me feel like the story was successfully wrapped up but also wanting more.

It checks off all the right boxes….. angsty romance, addictive characters, and a SPECTACULAR story!
Let’s meet the characters - the main FMC Alannah is a straight bad** and full of spunk… she is serious girl goals! We get to see her take full control here and her goal is vengeance! Then we get to meet Connor!!!! Major swoons here… he gives off all the right vibes!! He is a sexy man of mystery but can he be trusted??? One thing he can be trusted on is bringing the HEAT! Every page between these two is on FIRE!! Get the cold showers ready!! In between the sizzling chemistry we get a story that simply gripes you!! You will devour the pages as you will simple NEED to know what happens next. 5 star read ALL THE WAY!!

Wow! This story blew me away. It does have some possible triggers for some, but they were tastefully written. It started with so much action, drama, and suspense. It is addictive as it pulls you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I absolutely loved Alannah. She is feisty, stubborn, strong but has a heart of gold. There were times that I felt she was weaker when she has been portrayed as such a strong fighter but she can still definitely hold her own. Connor was fantastic. I loved his strong and protective personality. The chemistry between the two was felt throughout the story. It was extremely well written and developed. This is absolutely a must read and doesn’t disappoint.

I love finding a good angsty, mafia story that's hard to put down and by a new arthur for me you couldn't ask for more. I couldn't stop reading from the 1st page to the end it pulls you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I absolutely loved Alannah. She is feisty, stubborn, strong with a heart of gold, but I love the fact that she doesn't back down,vso you want her in your corner. Now Connor hmm now he's a man of mystery that you kind of wonder can he be trusted? I don't know, but boy can he bring the heat when these 2 are around each other their chemistry was felt throughout the story. Definitely would recommend.

The plot of this story held me caged when I started it yesterday night and stayed up to finish it.
First and foremost, everyone needs a friend like Gerard. I love him and his loyalty to Alannah. (Could there possibly be a future for Gerard’s story and his secrets? 👀).
That twist with a certain brother had me HOOKED. I truthfully thought that there would be some betrayal of some sort by someone else but I was happily relieved by the end.
If you enjoy a strong female lead who has to face her past in more ways than one and looking for a spicy read, this is the book for you!

I read this baby in one sitting. Victoria has a way of drawing you in with her writing. The story is dark, full of action 🔫🗡, steamy 🥵 twists and turns that take on emotional roller coaster.
I loved, loved Alannah! She is feisty, strong, resourceful, yet kind hearted. Ohh, Connor! He is hot, protective and possessive alpha that will make you melt. The chemistry between them is insane, together they are pure fire 🔥. One of my favourite couples 😻

This story had everything I love, and nothing I don't. It's hard for me to love a standalone as much as a series, because I feel like the lack of volume leaves less room for a story to be truly developed. This book is one that throws that out the window. From character development to a satisfying conclusion I very much enjoyed. I was new to this author going in, and I definitely wasn't expecting to fall so hard for her writing so quickly, but here we are. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for an intriguing story with twists and turns that wind your way to a satisfying ending. ❤️

This Mafia story is not a run of the mill tale. A Great story with character development and location descriptions that throw the reader right into the scenes. Alannah is young, smart, sassy and driven to make changes and get revenge. And she makes some dumb mistakes. Connor has secrets and is fighting to get Alannah to believe in him. Gerard is the best friend and oh so loyal. This is a great read, slow burn- but it gets so hot - twisted, danger, who wants Alannah dead mystery, with sizzling chemistry and so much more.

A badass woman, a man determined to clean up his name and a whole lot of intrigue, sex and murder. Key ingredients for an excellent book... this however I felt it lacked something. It was fast paced, but by the third page we already had an idea who the bad guys was. The real bad guy, not the one blown away in a beach. She felt years of anger and betrayal for Connor, only to forgive him swiftly. The end felt rushed. There were a lot of ideas to this book, but it felt lacking in development. The end felt rushed.

This was amazing. Full of intrigue, suspensefulness, and a little steamy. There are so many twists and turns, with revenge with a strong lead. The feelings in this book were very strong, and it was perfect because I was heartbroken yet enjoyed it so much.
This is a book that is hard to put down, and I had to see it through; I can't wait to see what else this author has in the future.

Alannah is out for revenge, and she’s certainly a force to be reckoned with! She’s seeking vengeance on the ones who betrayed her family and murdered her mother, and she’s got her sights set on Connor Pierce. But Connor’s got his own side of the story to tell - if only Alannah will listen and believe him.
I love how this book was non-stop action and danger, right from the get-go! But it also had several moments that made me laugh and others that were hot and steamy!

This was a great standalone mafia book! Alannah is a fiery heroine who has a take charge and take no shits attitude. Loved the friends to enemies to lovers trope between her and Connor. I love a good psychotic villain and this book definitely had one as well as some twists in the book that I didn’t see coming!

Strong FMC bad@$$ amazing friendship.
I really like this book it got me wanting to know more about other characters.. I enjoy everything and also the sexy time was amazing.
The story was intriguing and got me turning the pages fast.
I love Alannah and Aisling friendship. Aisling was so funny and was the perfect match to Alannah and what she needed. I love it.

Really enjoyed this book! I always love when the FMC is fierce and Lana definitely is she is not your typical mob princess, that’s for sure. She knows how to kick butt and doesn’t back down from a fight. Loved all the unexpected plot twists. Victoria Pauley definitely knocked it out of the park! I’m looking forward to reading more from her!

I enjoyed the chemistry between Alannah and Connor.
I struggle to fully picture the story, I don’t know if I felt it was rushed or something else. I did enjoy the book and would recommend for a quick and easy read. I would have loved to have got more from the characters maybe more of each of their stories.
