Started out REALLY liking the story and the MC through the first two books, but thinking I may have to re-evaluate; in this installment the MC alternates between the likable MC of the first row installments and bouts of being smirky, smarmy, and oh-so-full-of-themselves. That’s fine, if an unlikable MC is the intent, but it wears pretty thin pretty quickly for a ‘super powered, good-guy’ MC who struggles to hit the broad side of a barn and is regularly knocked on his arse by the lowest-level opponents when they “surprise” him in a scuffle, and walks in to every battle being a wisea$$.
I dunno. I still really enjoy other aspects of this story, but the writing around the MC in this installment seems shallow and one-dimensional, and it drags down the rest of the story. Maybe OK BlahBlahBlahBlah Murder isn’t for me.
Story wise this is one of Eric's best series. A good police/detective novel with elements of the supernatural. Alas the sub par effort to keep it the erotica genre spoils the net result. "boy and girl have opportunity, boy grabs T&A, boy licks girl to orgasm, boy enters and thrust to another girl orgasm, change position, continue thrusting to mutual orgasm." That simple sentence is the entire content of 6 separate scenes of approximately 3.5 pages each, almost 10 % of the book. Its repetitive, ultimately boring and reduces the literary quality. Be warned.
Eric Vall has a penchant for the unique and interesting world building in his books and this series lives up to the reputation.
Thrilling, exciting and full of weirdness, mad cults and a serial killer with paranormal abilities, it keeps you on the edge of your seat right to the end!
I must admit I often skip the sex chapters as I'm more interested in the plot, and I enjoyed this book a lot, but there are some little plot holes... Why didn't the team use radios in the first raid? They had them for the copy-cat and the second raid. Why are they going to look for another condo when Laura already has a the awesome penthouse with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms?
An awesome new chapter to the story. This is an amazing book that really makes me think back to the old noir detective novels I read when I was young. Can't wait to see what happens next.
This was a phenomenal read the story is fast paced with a great premise! The characters are really engaging and leave you rooting for them at every turn! I eagerly await the next in the series!
Truly enjoyed this work. It is both over the top and each character is well fleshed out.qonderful distraction from the world we now live in. Keep writing them and I'll keep reading
It took a little bit for me to get around to reading this series but it's so good, lots of opportunity for the story to evolve and dig into and the girls are so diverse. Can't wait for more!
I didn't want to put it down. I am excited to see what happens in the next book. I loved the character development and the action kept me reading long after I should have put the book down for the night.
Loved how the story goes and love all the characters my only complaint is turkey bacon ..... No that's just wrong on so many levels..... Kind of lost a little bit of love for you man .
This is an amazing series. Jonah and the girls track down the cult members and killer. Fast paced adventure with spice that keeps you turning pages as the chase powerful artifacts on the black market. Looking forward to the next installment!
A good time read. Twist after twist with finally a end in sight. Growing good relationships with people is nice to see. Even with idiots blocking progress.
The writer has thrown any semblance of realism or story right out the window. Too interested in writing sex scenes than creating a story with sex. Just feels low effort and lacking any depth.
