The dragonets are flourishing; both those in the park and those helping the Kymari.

As the first dragonets to hatch in the Kymari civilization, Tessa and her brother are paving a new path as they grow up and learn how to fit into the world. New beginnings are often great things, but sometimes shadows from the distant past come calling.

A very good and cozy read. Adds to the world of the first book, capturing more experiences in the life of the dragonets. I'm continually impressed by the author's ability to tell a compelling story without needing things to constantly go wrong for the characters in a major way at every turn. It feels much more like you're being brought along through normal life experiences, yet in a manner that doesn't get boring.

I read the Passing the Torch version of this book. There isn't much perspective passing once the story gets going, but the moments that do happen were insightful.

It is a rather enjoyable slice of life story as it shifts to Tasha's daugher perspective.
Wholesome moments with the young ones experimenting, pranking then being cute to have their antics forgiven.

I just felt surprised that their personalities grew pretty fast, especially with their interactions limited, but this still works and fits the light mood of the story.

Most of the book sticks to the slice of life style, except for the finale brought by a disrupting event that sheds a bit of light on the origins of the dragonets.
