I feel like I learned more about wolves than I would ever want to. Good principles and takeaways but a weird way of doing it. Very strong language to describe a workplace as a “battle zone” and leadership as “going to war” but I think it accomplishes its purpose.
The best quote was “The actual definition of Virtu’ is worthy of being followed. Machiavelli believed that leadership was a privilege and a burden, but not a right. He believed that ethics are not optional and leaders have to be willing to do what is best for their people and the republic and risk themselves in the process.”
Loved the ending because it was over.

Nice easy read on with tips on working through the politics of being a cio. From the dark side and light side, along with pros and cons, the book provides examples and ideas on how to work differently to get better results. As with any “self improvement” book, it’s hard to absorb it all but certainly good food for thought.
