The main frustration I get as a reader is the recurring theme of the main character not able to capitalize on his victories and still being run roughshod by the children of the nobility who are beneath him in ability. I guess that emphasizes the "trapped" aspect and the inability of changing his fate. That's not true though, because he can change his fate if only, he faces it forward and not run from Angelica and Olivia.

The dramatic conclusion of Leon's duel with Julius comes to a close and somebody sure can't resist rubbing it in. Afterwards, Leon's obnoxious real-world sister continues to capture the hearts of all the boys and completely upset the balance of power. Or... not. Then the school festival comes calling and, speaking of rubbing, if Angelica and Olivia get any closer, well, they'll be calling this a sapphic novel by the next volume...
This book is certainly of boys and for boys and make zero mistake. Leon manages to come out on top and winds up with the hearts of two different ladies that he believes himself to be not good enough for while doing everything right.
Then, his island also happens to have a hot springs so the girls can go bathing for several pages (will chests be compared? I WONDER) and Angelica and Olivia spend a lot of time being very hands-on with one another as the line between antagonist and protagonist is blurred to ribbons.
Even with that ribaldry (and believe me, the mangaka makes four meals and a tray of leftovers out the girls bathing), this is still a cut above other books of this type because Leon is not some overpowered twerp who fights evil and gets everything.
No, he's an overpowered loudmouthed twerp who fights societal evil and gets everything. Maybe it's my own cynical worldview, but watching him mouth off to authority and get the better of awful people is never not enjoyable. Even when he should know better, his temper gets the best of him, but all for the greater good and it’s one of the few times that watching somebody fail upward has been a good time.
The fun of all this is truly watching Leon smack into the machinations of his sister (unbeknownst to him) in the form of Marie, noted romance meddler, as she uses her knowledge of Japan and the game to weasel her way into the high life.
Seeing Leon overcome these obstacles and deliver a hilarious karmic comeuppance is very satisfying - when Marie loses her prospects but gains an adventuring party that’s excited to delve some dank, dirty dungeons, which she wants no part of, it’s a real treat.
Elsewhere, it’s worth noting the way that Angelica learns to come back from having lost absolutely everything that meant something to her and how quickly she and Olivia end up bonding is a neat story turn too. Even if it exists to give Leon two women who are into him, it’s done well. Angelica wound up being better than expected in that regard and when she sticks up for her friends later on it’s a believable turn for her.
There are a few issues - this is still a pretty basic overpowered isekai, though it’s certainly better written than most. The art is pretty good, though minus the length of their hair it’s practically impossible to tell the difference between Olivia and Angelica. They’re really not doing enough with Olivia at this stage either - her goody-goody nature seems to be all she is and that’s not super exciting.
It’s definitely not as clever this time around either, although I admit the challenge during the school festival made me laugh because of how trite it was and the deadly seriousness assigned to it. And for all that the second volume was amazing and had no fan service, the story sure made up for that by the time this volume was over (and then some [and then some more]).
3 stars - but still a high 3, really close to 3.5. I definitely like what’s on offer here for the most part and will certainly read more of these. Plus, when it comes down to it, I will take smart and horny over dumb and horny every single time.

Great cast
I really enjoy the tongue in cheek sarcasm that this story brings to the genre. There's a certain amount of self-awareness that makes the humor even more funny when reading this series.
If you're familiar with the anime, this volume leads into the school festival arc. Specifically the part where the queen shows up. That means the next volume is going to be the great race.

I've really liked the first three volumes! It's built nicely all the way to that final panel of volume three and I can't wait to see how the series continues!
