It was a good resource for learning all the pokemon! However, I feel that it would've been better in type or evolution order rather than alphabetical. If a person is looking for a pokemon and knows the type but not the name, it's not practical. I did enjoy learning about pokemon though!
My 6 year old son told me to give it 5 stars. He really enjoyed me reading it to him. He also learned to read a decent amount of words from it, since some were repeated quite often.
As an adult I can't rate it quite so highly. As other reviews have mentioned, having the Pokémon in number order, or at least grouped by evolution, would have made it much more useful as a reference and removed the need to list the evolutions multiple times. Also, a lot of the Pokémon had descriptions which repeated themselves. They would have two paragraphs next to each other that were mostly the same.
Overall I enjoyed it as well. It was easy to read in small chunks and it is a good book for younger Pokémon fans.
I loooooveee pokemon. The cards I have are precious to me. I wanted this book when I saw it in warehouse during school holidays. it was $20 , but my father suggested we look for this in library. I cant believe my luck, we found it there. I was super excided and reading it everyday. Learnt so much about different types of pokemons from this book.
Though I enjoyed it, there are quite a lot of errors. For example, Braixen is apparently from Johto and and Snom, one of the easiest Pokémon to pronounce is apparently "Snahm". Not to say I dislike it, but I just wish that it was a bit more polished.
It was good! I discovered the coolest things about Gens 7 and 8 because for a very long time I used the Deluxe Essential Handbook. So now when I want to look up, say Marshadow, I can get its stats. It also has the overdrive forms of Zekrom and Reshiram! I’m an avid Pokémon drawer and card trader and this has everything I could want! However, just like in the Super Deluxe Essential Handbook, they have put the cosplay Pikachus as Kanto region Pokémon, however, they are truly Hoenn region Pokémon.
