Be warned there's a trigger warning for this book for good reason. Some content might upset some folks so be prepared.
Destroy - book 2 in the Deadly Hearts series does exactly what the title suggests. It destroys the reader with the emotional roller coaster of highs and lows you go through with FMC Ruby. Trying to reclaim who she was in the aftermath of traumatic events that have happened to her. As well as regain her own sexuality and self worth with her guys. It's hard going in parts but it's also rewarding in regards in how we see the guys rally around her with care and consideration.
Oh flaming hell another bloody great cliffhanger ending. Ms Newton certainly likes to keeps us on our toes!! I think I need a wind down after this book. My heart needs a break

I lost A LOT of respect for the MFC in this book. I understand she was assaulted and traumatized at the beginning of this book, but she essentially turns around and does the same thing to one of her guys!
Consent goes both ways. Just because a person is dominant and in the lifestyle does NOT mean they consent to what the other person wants done. Declan should have had a safe word and the MFC should have respected his need for one.
She forced him to beat her. He did not want to do that, and told her so. Her response was that if he didn't do it, their relationship was over. He did it and felt sick the whole time. That's emotional and mental abuse. Where was his aftercare???
Later, she basically r@pes him. That's what it appeared to me because she tells him that she didn't want the last person in her body to be the guy that assaulted her. Declan tells her he doesn't want to, but she guilty him into it, and he CRIES the whole time and BEGS her for it to be over!! Just because a guy has a hard on does NOT mean they're willing.
She was completely focused on her own healing and well-being and did not give the first care in the world to how she was abusing and traumatizing him.
This was not okay. At all. How do you love someone and do that to them because it's what you need to feel better? If made her seem selfish, heartless, and cruel.

This book was the most wonderful journey of grief, trauma and overcoming these and most importantly, rediscovery: a reminder that life doesn’t have to end and you are strong enough to push forward.
Once again, Eve managed to give us a glimpse into the worst moments a woman can face but also, the best by continually providing us with a sense of realness and vulnerability. She continued to tear our hearts apart for the character, making us care about her story, invest our energy into her: grief with her, get angry with her, feel excited and revitalised with her. Those wonderfully delicious men, powerful, strong, brooding and intimidating as they are, really felt like the back bone of the story giving strength when there was none and being the support system needed.

This book truly lives up to its title, it will destroy you. From the very first page it grabs your attention and keeps it, taking us from one intense emotional journey to the next.
Ruby is one of the strongest FMC’s that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. But even the strong can struggle during emotional trauma. While she still has her men there to ground her and give her unconditional love, it isn’t her men that have the hardest time with her new reality, it is Ruby herself.
This book is emotionally and mentally challenging. Ruby’s journey isn’t my journey, how she handled her trauma surely wouldn’t be the way I would handle mine…but that is exactly why Eve Newton is so incredible. She stays the course and gives her characters the courage to be true to themselves.
Also, there are moments of happiness and joy that she weaves into the story, to bring us back to an even keel…which I desperately needed!
If you enjoy strong FMC’s who will do anything for the people that she loves, then this is the book for you!

If I thought Crush destroyed me then I was wrong. This book has been perfectly named. From the reader pov and from the FMC this destroyed me in the best kind of way. It gripped me and did not let me go. The fact that Ruby is a survivor and didn't lose herself is a testament to the writing.
I feel like my soul has been wrecked, given a hug and a kiss on the forehead and then made whole again. I loved every single second of this story. And I am eager to find out what is going to happen to Ruby next.

Another fantastic book from Eve Newton. Wow.
Just a heads up there is a Trigger warning due to some parts in this story. This is a dark story so might not be for some people. So this is book 2 in the Deadly Hearts series. Definitely read book 1 first.
I love Ruby. I have loved her character since book 1. Finally a strong female main character. Plus the guys and you have best characters ever. Storyline is phenomenal. Get ready for one heck of a story. Once you start reading be prepared to stay up all night or day to finish. So so good. No spoilers. But does end on a cliffhanger. Which mean there is another book coming!!! So excited!!!
Definitely recommend reading. Will so not be disappointed.

First off, please check the trigger warning. This book is darker than the first, significantly so. There is real life trauma and feelings that happen, but it is done in a way that isn’t gory.
This book ripped out my heart, stomped on it, and made me absolutely love how she went about it. Between Ruby and her men, I adore these characters as if I actually knew them. This book sucked me in, and has me wanting to know what’s going to happen next, because I know it’s going to blow my mind yet again.
TLDR: Dark RH with quite a few trigger warnings, she absolutely smashed this story out of the park.

This book is fantastic! The author knows how to rip your heart out, and this book does just that. Ruby is a fantastic, strong, determined FMC, and the men she surrounds herself with love her fiercely. This book hooked me at the very beginning and didn't let me go even at the end. I can not wait to see what happens to Ruby next. If you're looking for a hot, dark, read this is right up your alley! Please know that this book does have some triggers, so please read the preface and heed its warnings!

Destroy... what an apt name for this book, because wow. This is such a wild and emotional ride, be prepared. This is the second book in the Deadly Hearts series and very much worth the read. It is filled with trigger please take note of them before fully diving into this dark book. I am liking Ruby, more and more, it continues to show how strong she is and how much she is a survivor. This is a captivating read and I loving this series.

I hope you are ready for the ride that is Destroy. Strong trigger warning for the first chapter of the book. If you read Crush, then you probably have an idea of what this is. It completely sets the tone for the story and the healing and strength that Ruby embodies. So many emotions and so much love for this book. There is more of a natural break than the prior book that will take us into Reclaim.

The title of this book is a warning all on its own if I thought crushed crushed me well destroy well and truly destroyed me. You'd think after diving into the dark and delicious underground with Ruby in book 1 I'd be prepared for book 2 but Eve has blown this one out of the water the way the characters are written and the trials they end up facing is just incredible I have been strapped into an emotional roller coaster and still haven't been let off I need a cuddle puddle with Ruby and her men

Eve has written Destroy with such emotional depth and realism that it will literally destroy you and leave you broken. If you thought what she made you feel in Crush was tough on your soul it hasn't got a thing on this.
Ruby is one of the strongest fmcs I've ever read yes as the Black Widow she is feared and deadly but what she survived, twice and her emotional fortitude is astounding. The strength she has to work through her trauma and come back fighting and embrace the relationships with her men makes this a truly brilliant piece of writing.
We discover unknown depths when it comes to the guys I'm Ruby's life old and new, not all of these are easy truths and some are very hard earned. I do love series where the harem grows past the first book. These guys are pillars of support, there for her in any capacity she needs to make it through each day and it only depends their connection.

This is book 2 in Eve's dark mafia contemporary series. I love contemporary romance btw so thank you Eve for this gem. Must read book 1 before you read this. Also pay attention to the trigger warnings Eve has put in thus book. It is dark but for me deliciously so. I for a long time thought I wouldn't like dark but some I really love. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions for Ruby. I know it's said before by me and I don't want to give away too much of the story but it'll break you and you'll be fixed like with kintsugi, a Japanese art form where what is broken is fixed with gold. That is the stor here. Broken but fighting for her right, for herself, finding herself and coming out winning by the amazing guys standing at her side. Also this book is not the end so yes the mother of cliffhangers kills it here.

Eve has written another masterpiece. I do have to say there are trigger warnings with this book for good reason so be aware of that. In destroy we see Ruby go through something that no one should go through and would destroy so many. Watching her go through the motions was heartbreaking but being able to see her claim her life back was inspiring especially know a lot of people wouldn’t be able to. Having her men there to support her and back her up was an added bonus. Ruby is still the kick butt Black Widow that we came to know and love in the first book. I love how when one villain is taken care of another pops up with a twist to boot. I also loved seeing her relationships grow with her men and her addition to them. The ending definitely left me hanging I can’t wait to see what happens with her and the mission she is being out on! I cannot wait for the next book.

Be prepared to be wrecked when you read this book. It is dark, delicious, emotional and so very good. There are triggers so be sure to check out the warnings before diving in, however if you have no triggers or they don't bother I highly recommend you grab this book asap! Ruby goes through a lot emotionally but has incredible men that are by herside through it all just trying to make sure she is okay. Then we get introduced to a twin that brings a different kind of strength and humor to the group but we learn that he has an internal fight of his own. This book absolutely destroyed me and I cannot wait to find out what is going to happen next after that ending. Such an incredible series that has me unable to put it down.

what a beginning, talk about starting with a bang...or a stab it definitely gets your attention sucks you in and makes you thurst for revenge from the first paragraph.
it does not stop there, this book is fast paced with intermingled steam and action and ends on a fantastic cliff hanger which I always love when it's done well.
Ruby is such a strong hard ar.. I just love her. each one of her men are so very different I love them all so much!

No thank you. I have 0 triggers. I can read anything taboo. But I refuse to read abusive and manipulating behavior and expect to be ok with it just because she went through trauma. No ma'am. No, you may not use someone's love for you as a means to get what you want. "If you love me you'll do this or I'll find someone who will." "If you don't do this then we're over" "Don't you love me?" This series has everything I look for in a book. Suspense, smut, strong female, and sexy men!!! Let just say, Declan is 🔥🔥🔥 I love me an Irish accent. ALL the guys have me in love with them if if being honest. And RUBY!!! Yassss Ruby! She’s one bad bitch let me tell you. Even with the trauma, she comes back to kick some ass!!

I need more
Phew this series just keeps getting better!
The steam and story just keeps getting more and more intense as the story goes along. Meeting Declan’s family and learning their/his story was hard to read. But reading as Ruby works her way through handling her own trauma was without a doubt the most heart wrenching thing in the entire book. Finding out what she has to do in order to pay back a debt at the end just has me screaming for book 3.

Eve Newton brings us the second book of this awesome series! Beautifully written with complex characters and plot twists, this book keeps you turning pages throughout. God damn it this woman has done it again reeled me in with great characters that you just can't help but fall in love with then bam hits me with that ending. I love how Ruby and her men are evolving together especially after her traumatic kidnapping it's heartbreaking and loving all at the same time . Can't wait for the next one

Ugh! Another cliffhanger. I am so hooked on this series. The storytelling is absolutely brilliant and the storyline is magnificently done.. I don't want to place my reader down..
I must know how this story ends, on to book 3.

I enjoyed this story and jumped straight into book 3 because the breaks between the three books felt out of sorts to me. I very much liked Ruby's down & dirty approach to handling issues. And I loved these guys.

This would have been a 4 star but there’s a scene that pissed me off so badly I’m surprised I didn’t DNF and walk away from it. That kinda made me sad. I’ll be listening to book 3 just to see how it ends but this book is very disappointing.
