Wolf shifter, daughter, sister, and princess of the frozen North.
My life’s purpose has been this, to one day unite the kingdoms of The North and The South.
Snow and heat, ice and fire. Complete opposites.
I left days ago with the southern ambassador, journeying south to meet my betrothed, Prince Jael Virac.
My hopes for the future of our kingdoms were dashed when I was nearly killed, leaving me broken and on the run.
A bleeding wolf, lost and afraid in the wilderness of Terra Mor… until he found me. The hunter of Shadowers, and the dark creature of my dreams.

Princess Rhenara Landras of The North (“Rhen”) wants to unite the North and South kingdoms. She is traveling south to meet the man she is engaged to marry, Prince Jael Virac of the South. But she was attacked along the way, unable to stop the bleeding of the wound which won’t heal, strange since she is a wolf shifter who should heal quickly. She is lost in the wilderness of Terra Mor until Fin, a Hunter born of fire, finds her.
Fin takes Rhen to a cabin to rest and heal her. Both of them have dreamed of the other years ago. He even takes a potion to stop the nightmares that plague him. But the Landless appear and capture both of them because they have trespassed on one of their Chief’s homes (the cabin). Fascinated that a Hunter would be found with a wolf shifter, when those species never mingle, the Landless want them for their army! Rhen is ready to fight them, but Fin pointed out that there were 13 Landless and they could not easily fight that many. They should just comply for the moment because they have no other option unless she wants Fin to burn the entire land to the ground. Was he truly that powerful? What will their fate be now? Will they escape the Landless before they get there?
Destiny Born tells the tale of a reluctant wolf shifter princess who is sent to unite the kingdoms of The North and The South. On the journey there, she is attacked and almost killed until she is saved by a fiery Hunter. This is a start of a series that has a interesting plot - prophesy, political intrigue and power. The plot is fascinating but the characters are a little underdeveloped in this novella. I hope that the next in the series further develops these characters.

So this series is going to be a mini series of sorts. It’s 5 books but I’ve realized they’re a little short and quick. But that’s the fun! Now… Rhen is my new hero. She is so lost and yet she wants to learn and do better and make everything else better. Hunter… aka Fin… really, Hatcher lol… I can’t wait to watch him grow and change. I think Rhen will grow but she is who she is and I love it. I’m learning about the side characters and so far, I have a feeling I’m going to love them too. I’m jumping straight into book 2!
This looks like it’s going to be another great series from this author. Right from the start I found myself drawn into the story and couldn’t put it down. The world building is incredible and so beautiful and lures you in, the storyline exciting and entertaining and full of shifters, faeries, vampires, dragons, and fated mates! A fantastical journey, an epic romance, this is a great paranormal read and I am so looking forward to reading more!
This is a start of a new series that stars a Princess and a Hunter. These two run into each other and thus begins an interesting story. It was fun and introduces the main characters and the ending sets up what is to come. Enjoyed the story, setup and cannot wait to see what happens next and what they must face on their journey. Rhen and Fin were awesome together and I expect great things from these two.
I think I’ve got a crush on Fin. He is so sweet trying to be stern. Then is a mix of confusion. First of all being a rebel then obedient to a fault. She loves her freedom but agrees to marry a stranger without any of her family there? Not even a maid for the princess? I’m still desperately waiting for the next book though. Can’t wait to continue the story!

This is book one of the Destiny Born series and the main characters are Rhen, Princess Rhenara Landras of The North and Fin (Hatcher), a Hunter reborn in fire and ash. Rhen is a wolf shifter and oldest daughter of the King of the North. She has already been promised in marriage to the King if the South’s only son, in a pact to unite the North and South. The North is a frozen landscape of cold, ice and snow, whilst the South is hot heat, dry deserts and fire. Complete opposites and the time has finally come for her to leave her home and travel south. Their ambassador has finally come to visit, a dragon shifter as most are there, and is to escort her to her betrothed. Prince Jael Virac. They have to walk as areas of the Midlands they must pass through, don’t allow shifters to use their other form, or magic to be used. Her future and that of her kingdom is dashed when she comes under attack and someone obviously wants her dead! She manages to injure her assailant and then run away, but has been injured herself in the attack. She is now lost in the wilds of the Terra Mor and knows little about the actual people who live in her kingdom and the life they have lived under her father’s rule, made more severe after he lost his wife some years before. She believes she must speak to the Southern King and sort out what has happened, rather than return home. But first, she has to stop herself from freezing to death as she could not shift all her winter clothing with her due to her injury that is still bleeding heavily and not healing as it should. This is when Fin finds her and stops her being attacked by a Shadower as well. He takes her to an abandoned cabin to keep her safe and so she can rest, as he helps to heal her wound. He is the hunter of her dreams, from when they met some six years ago when they were fifteen. She has been in his dreams ever since, but he has been taking a magical potion to try and stop his nightmares of his life before he became a Hunter, to control his emotions so he can’t get distracted again! This instalment of the story ends with the two of them being taken by a group called the Landless, who have their own reasons to want Fin and Rhen in their orbit. Lots more to come from this series, with each short instalment telling another important part of the story. The next book will no doubt show us what the Landless leader wants with them and what part they will play in the vision their leader had. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and I would recommend people read the prequel to find out about Hunters and Shadowers, which are a key part of the story. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
