- I have yet to read the novel and this review is mainly for the manhua adaptation which the avail fan translation quality is not the best
The manhua fantrans is really bad (used to read the official on bilibili comics but yeah app no longer avail for the global market which fvkng sucks) that some scenes and dialogues get confusing and hard to fully grasp. Also I prefer if the translation sticks with ‘ge’ or ‘gege’ because seriously the ‘bro’ thing leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I also want to read the novel since I believe it is much better and the reviews about it are all good.
Anyway, this is not for the fluffy readers. This is such a heavy read with tons of trigger warnings and first on the list is of course, incest. If you are not comfortable with it please stay away.
The MC and ML are blood-related, they’re half-brothers, however, moral aside you cannot help but root for them and wish them to be happy together. Novel readers said that the author did a good job building up their relationship and it is not an easy task considering the themes of the story.
Tang Junhe is such a complex character, hes smart and cunning and pretty. Though my only complaint about him is he acts like a fckng doormat when it comes to his brother. His co-dependent nature is unhealthy but at the same time you understand why he acts like that. He also struggles from mental health problems like how to be not like you. Yang Xuan is quite complex too and was out for revenge on MC’s mother. But it didn’t become his main driving force because he fell in love with Junhe and just used this excuse to justify his road for revenge, bro was in denial for a while. Also I feel like Yang Xuan had it easy getting back together with Junhe after 10 years. He didn’t apologise to his little baby brother and just came back, opened his arms and the MC came running towards him with heart-shaped eyes. I wish he had a hard time getting his brother back because Junhe has every right to be mad at him but he loves him dearly to be upset at his brother.
Im planning to read the novel because I really find this story interesting and I heard that their smxy moments are really spicy and graphic.
