If you enjoy the stories with overpower protagonists, then this is a good read for you, the mc is ruthless but still likeable, sometimes if you take away his no mercy policy he's just a silly guy.
However, for me, this has two major flaws, being the first one the romance, as i am used to read this type of stories i'm familiar with the harem setting, however, this particular mc stated that he didn't liked that because he and his mother suffered because of his father's harem, when other characters tried to push him into political marriages he declined for the same reason, he has a lover and he was actually happy with her.
But as a plot device, they introduced another woman, which he needed to save but the only way was to have sex with her (worst when you know she was unconscious) and then she was magically in love with him...
And second is the ending, it would have been much better if they just said it was the first part and no the novel ending, but then you have to read the sequel because its not really an ending

It was an interesting novel. Be warned though, the "end" is really just a set up for the next novel, so don't expect things to wrap up in the last chapters.

I wanted to post a gif to summarize one of the things that happens most often in the story but the gif won't work (sad) so instead I'll mention my joke name for this novel:
