The Gifts Awaken #1
Throw the Amulet
A magical amulet I can't throw away ...
Things always turn cattywampus when I return home.
A favor for my brother went wrong. Now my paranormal powers, once dormant, surge.
This time I must embrace my supernatural gifts.
My friend's young son is missing and assumed dead. I am his only hope.

24 books103 followersI learned early it's not acceptable for me to talk about the weird things I see at night or the whispering voices in my room. They told me there's no such thing as ghosts. Dead folks don't hang out in little boy's bedrooms, and I have an overly active imagination.
They were right about the imagination.
Later, I discovered that while talking about "such nonsense" is taboo, writing stories about paranormal events is acceptable. I've been hooked ever since.
You may find the female characters in my books to be ridiculously smart, tough, resourceful, and occasionally a hot mess. This is not only because I find this style of protagonist intriguing. Writers write what they know. Where I come from, most women fit into this category.
April May Snow, the protagonist in the prequel series The Gifts Awaken and the full-length novel series Foolish, is a young woman who personifies a strong woman. She just doesn't know it yet.
The April May Snow books are a paranormal women's fiction series. They are not a midlife series. Considering the multitude of dangerous situations April finds herself in, they might be past her midlife. Let's hope not. I've come to love her and hope you will, too.
To round out my Bio, I was born in San Diego and raised in Birmingham. I like to think I keep a California surfer's attitude toward life most days while conversing in a heavy Southern drawl.
I now live a few miles outside of Nashville. Since I can't play the guitar, which is a genuine impediment to being a successful country music singer, I continue to write books, which I enjoy immensely. I hope you'll receive as much joy from reading one of my books as I get from bringing it to life.

A really fun read. I especially liked the closeness of the family. This is a book to read under the blankets on a rainy day.

Accept yourself
I liked this book, and it has a lot of potential for a series.
My biggest gripe is that the MC has more psychic power than she can imagine, and she keeps denying it. Yes, she wants to be "normal", but she just accepts the minor stuff, like knowing about someone just from shaking their hand. Even when the stakes are life and death, she pretends that she is not psychic. I kept wanting to just grab her and shake her and tell her to get over herself.
I will read the next book.

Always Love This Series
Once again a great April Snow book. It has fun characters, mystery, humor, and ghost. M. Scott Swanson knows how to deliver. I am addicted. What is not to love? That being said, I did not understand why this book was not included in Kindle Unlimited. I read about 10 or more books a month so for me to be able to afford to I pay the KU fee. I have a few favorite authors and try to add new ones each month. I hope this series will stay with KU. I don't want to have to give it up. Like I said I am addicted to it and can't wait for the next one to come out. He is an brilliant writer.

I don't know how throw the amulet got my attention after I read everything else, but I still enjoyed it. Swanson keeps the story interesting with lots of action. April is a forever watering pot. I have no brothers so can't really say if she is overly attached to them. When she had problems with the nurse, I kept thinking she should call Howard. Like I said I am way out of sequence with reading and Howard wasn't a major character in this book.

April Before Graduating College
I really thought this was the continuance of April Snows life after she had graduated college but...its before she came back to Guntersville. Good read but stepping back in time a bit. I find the story just as intriguing as I did the last series of books I read. Love the characters and the bit of freaky that raises the hair on your arms when that paranormal walks through the door.

2.5*
I’m not sure how this got my attention but since the reviews were all so good I thought I’d give it a try.
It’s an okay read. I found it a little slow and while I fully understand the draw of being completely normal to a young girl. She just needs to get over herself (sounds harsh I know but it took up far too much headspace and time).

April comes home on spring break and encounters all kinds of trauma. A high school friend's son is missing and she needs to help find him. Her psychic gifts are rusty but start to come back eerily which she is not sure she wants or likes.

Throw the Amulet
This book had on edge of seat all the way to the end. I was praying that the child would been live. I don't read this type of book but I think might be add a new author to my list of favorite authors.

A really suspenseful read!
Throw the amulet is one of the best books I’ve read lately. Well written and handles building the suspense nicely. I came to care about the characters in the ending was satisfying. Highly recommended! I’m off to grab the next book in the series.

book one is really good.
This is not the first M. Scott Swanson I have read, I think I read a different series or missed this first book!
But I like the characters and story.
