Amber Linwood is finishing her undergraduate studies in Marine Biology and has just scored an internship at a prestigious oceanographic institute in San Diego.
Anya Romanova’s career as a model in SoCal is beginning to really take off. Not only is she the face of Mission State Beer, but she has also just landed a lucrative contract to model for an upstart Los Angeles lingerie company.
Courtney Miles is finishing up her master’s degree, and is using her experience working for her mentor Vanessa at La Vida Mocha to prepare herself for opening her own coffeeshop one day soon.
Amber, Anya and Courtney are amazingly close friends. If you see one, you usually see the other two. Whether it’s playing volleyball in Solana Beach, having cocktails at Carlsbad’s trendiest bar, or just hanging out at Anya’s house, the three of them feel most contented when they’re with each other.
Good thing too…since all three of them have terrible love lives. It’s almost as if none of them could buy a decent date.
Too bad they’re all such good friends. Because the fact of the matter is…
Amber is wildly attracted to Anya…and Courtney. Anya is wildly attracted to Courtney…and Amber. And Courtney is wildly attracted to Amber…and Anya.
They would all be perfect for one another! But each of them knows it would be impossible to choose which one of her friends she should date.
Then one night, one of these young women has an idea…and it rhymes with couple.
“Rhymes with Couple” is a funny, very 21st century story about three very 21st century women who decide that having to choose…is so 20th century!
It is steamy (times three), witty, and delightfully low-angst, and the most ambitious installment of the Carlsbad Village Lesbian Romance series yet.
Used to have this rated at 5 stars till I found out the author is not who they say they are. Sabrina Kane is supposed to be a lesbian author living in Carlsbad with her girlfriend, but it seems Sabrina Kane is actually a man. I'm fine with pen names but not with someone lying and making up a whole fake persona. https://jae-fiction.com/another-catfi...
This was an okay read. I felt as if something was missing, but I can’t put my finger on what it is tbh. But, overall, I enjoyed it. The steamy moments were hot af 🥵
More serious steam from the Queen of Lesfic Steamy Love
This is the ninth instalment in the series of tales following a group of strong, independent (and seemingly all stunning) women in Carlsbad, California. What started out as a great story in book one continues to grow into an amazing franchise.
This instalment allows us to meet Anja, a Russian model (and so much more), Amber (a budding marine biologist) and Courtney (a student and Mustang driver). The three women are solid friends who spend as much time as possible together.
Courtney is the only woman ever in Kane’s universe to drive a Ford and it’s not only this which means she’s clearly the cleverest. She also is the first one to raise that maybe, just maybe, there could be more to their relationship than friendship. The problem is - which of Amber or Anja would she choose? Whoever it is, can they make that work and what about the other? You’ll have to read and find out.
As with every Kane book, this contains love, laughter, volleyball, coffee and some seriously mind blowing orgasms between the characters. We see into the characters' lives and backstories - meeting Amber’s parents and seeing Anja’s background and hobbies - all of which reveal far more about them as people than we got the chance to see in future books where they may have cameoed.
The writing is, as ever from Sabrina, top notch. The characters are believable and all the practical details are incorporated in a way that makes these women not just stunning, lucky and sexy but also believable.
This was my first ménage à trois -book-. I guess that I needed the bandwidth to actually immerse myself in it, that's why it took me so long to read it. There are so many aspects that our couple-normativity has that in order to make the relationship explained in this book work it had to be shaped to fit. To fit not into some standard but into a quality-positive relationship. And that’s what I enjoyed the most.
This story follows: Amber Lindwood, Anya Romanova and Courtney Miles. They are best friends, they have spent more time together than apart, they have their own identities, they have an individual life, they feel/know there’s a special bond between them, so they decided to try it. To date. The three of them. Together.
I consider as key the way they communicate their worries and needs, during the reading I could sense more closeness from two MCs but I guess those could be phases during this type of relationship and they will vary from time to time.
Many books of this series (A Carlsbad Village) are very focused on the steamy scenes, I guess that I’m more into the development of the characters or relationship but hey.. The author is from the Royal Court of the Lesfic Steamy scenes, love and happily ever afters so considering that it's perfect.
**Sadly, some startling revelations came out today about the author that I can’t support. please read more about it and make up your own opinion about maybe reading the book. ** https://jae-fiction.com/another-catfi...
I wanted to read this one because of the throuple storyline, something that is pretty rare for a sapphic romance novel. I personally don't think I could ever be in one but I was curious as to how the author would handle the relationship between the three women. I feel the characters all showed a lot of maturity when it came to how they set things up and then how any issues that arised were handled. I will say I was not prepared for the amount of steam in this book, this is the first one of this series that I have read, but it was fairly well written and very erotic. I might not ever be in a throuple but if a threesome ever happens this book gave out some excellent ideas to explore. It was a good read and I'd recommend to anyone looking for something a little different. I don't feel I was missing anything either by not reading the books that came before it in the series but I may have to go explore some of those after reading this one.
Hang on…hang on…hang on…wow! So, if like me you read the blurb for this book and thought…hmmm, is this something I want to read?. Well, you really REALLY do want to. It’s a different relationship to most other books but it is written so well, with so much depth of feelings…you see every side of every character, you kinda almost forget it’s a throuple. Obviously not for long, and it’s hot as all hell…but it’s also more. So give it a shot you won’t be disappointed. I had forgotten how great this story was! Rereads rule!
4. It's my first book of Sabrina Kane and my second about a throuple. I love the open communication. Three best friends, knowing about each other, able to voice ideas and concerns. It's like the best example of how complex relationships should be handled. The three women are all individuals, bicker with each other and fall in love with one another. My only gripe is the constant sex. I didn't know what to expect, but once the cat is out of the bag, this is a book about fucking with a sprinkle of relationship-romance on the side.
“In all her years, Amber had never gotten more powerful Fuck me eyes from another woman. She quirked her eyebrow at Anya, letting her know that they were thinking the same thing. Then, she shared her look with Courtney, who licked her lips.”
Heroine: 22 year old Amber Linwood Heroine: 24 year old Anya Romanova Heroine: 24 year old Courtney Miles
No drama and all the feels for these three.
Cliffhanger – no (book #8 in series) POV - Amber, Courtney & Anya
I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out, but it worked. Amber, Anya, and Courtney are so hott together. When you're all very close friends, but also very attracted to one another.... why choose? Obviously, a lot of spice here 🌶🌶🌶!!
I know it's not the conventional romance story that everyone is used to, but I genuinely enjoyed this one. Of course, I enjoy anything by Sabrina Kane!
This installment is ridiculously funny and quite a read. There are so much steamy scenes. I had to look up rent prices in Carlsbad to move! Quite entertaining as usual and was looking for other character installations that this writer might start after this? Perhaps Molly??
I've never been into the whole throuple scene, I don't have anything against it...(We get one life, live it how you choose).... Saying that.... This book!! had me all hot under the collar. There's a few scenes that play over in my mind every now and then lol. Amber, Anya and Courtney are perfect for each other.
I love this series and I especially love this story! I have always been fascinated with the concept of a throuple. The author does a great job leading up to these women deciding to commit to each other in every way. Very well done!
I really hope there is more to this series because I need this in my life. Always love that characters from other books visit and I'm just gonna say that I would love to watch their volleyball match. It would be so worth getting the sun burn.
The triad between these women is outrageous. Chemistry is strong and the relationship grows as the story continues. This was very sexy and full of hot, steamy scenes. I love this series and can't wait to see if it continues.
I have not read many throuple stories and this one was well done with the romance between the three ladies as well as individually. Sabrina Kane certainly brings the heat!
I’ve never read any of this author’s books before, but I will definitely be looking her up and finding more. If you like your books 🌶️🌶️🌶️ then this is definitely one you need to read. I loved all the characters and I could feel the MC’S chemistry throughout.
I have read this entire series and this is my favorite by far. It is funny, romantic and has some emotional moments as well. It’s all around a great story.
I'm not going to pretend that I didn't enjoy a lot of this book on a carnal level. But that's where it ends.
I wouldn't recommend reading two of Sabrina Kane's books back to back; you will need a break in between. I made this mistake *again* and take full responsibility for it, my bad.
I don't understand why our protagonists believe that that possessing male anatomy makes them better at physical labor or driving, for example. It's a recurring theme in all the books, and it's frustrating to see such a narrow view of gender roles. If this is an attempt at comedy, the jokes aren't funny. It's possible that I'm missing something else here.
I'd like to see Kane attempt to write a non-binary or trans character. In fact, if she has and you've read it please let me know which book.
i love exploring the dynamic of different ENM relationships, but THIS was so not it. Literally awful. My rating started with a 3/5, and slowly dwindled down to a 0. The way the author described these women was absolute bs. Very anti feminist, patronizing, and disgusting really. Def do not recommend
yes i know the author is (to put it mildly) problematic. i chose to read anyway. so know that this review is based on the writing, not the problematicness. there were some hot scenes for sure; but by and large it’s lazy and filled with cliches.
