For most of my life, all I wanted was magic. Now I have it. Powerful magic. And I can say with certainty, the cost for it was way too high. My life is in shambles and I've been framed to look as if I betrayed the fae. If I can't fix this, I won't even have to worry about all my other problems.
McKenzie Hunter is the author of urban fantasy, dark fantasy, and paranormal romance books. She discovered early that new adventures were just a page-turn away; all she had to do was read a book. She’s had her share of escapades from hanging out with vamps, joining the chaos of shifter packs, creating spells with witches, and avoiding deals with the fae.
When she isn't working on her next book, she’s reading, binge-watching TV, or disappearing into her own world during nature walks (probably on the lookout for magical beings—or maybe not).

This book was incredible! The last book ended on a doozy of a cliffhanger and this one picked straight back up in the thick of it. The emotion in this book was truly tangible, especially the desperation, frustration, panic and despair. There was non stop action from start to finish as Erin scrambles to reopen the veil, take on two significant foes while trying to circumvent a third, and frantically develops her magic so that she can have any hope of accomplishing all of this. Relationships are tested, characters will surprise you and it has one hell of a twist ending. This is some of, if not the best work this author has produced to date. You don't want to miss out on this book! 😍
Enraged Elves, Furious Fae, Vindictive Vampires. All in a day’s work for Erin.
I loved this book. I have read everything else this author has published and this is by far my favourite series of hers. I love the characters; they are so relatable and the character development since book one for all the characters has been outstanding. The world building, the magic, the action; all of it is superb.
McKenzie Hunter has such a fluid style of writing. I flew through this in a day. The story was well-paced and engaging. Like the others in this series, this book started with a bang and ended with another. I had thought maybe it was wrapping up and Erin, our fabulous FMC, was finally going to get a bit of stability and maybe a Happy Ever After. Not so. There’s a beautiful big shiny hook at the end to reel us all in for book seven. I really cannot wait to read it.
I’m off to nurse my book hangover with a cuppa.
This is the sixth book in McKenzie Hunter’s Raven Cursed series. It’s an Urban Fantasy set in modern day USA. There is some romance but it’s not the main focus of the story. There are some scenes of a sexual nature between consenting adults.
If you haven’t read the rest of the series, please do yourself a massive favour and grab them. The reading order for this series so far is:
Book 1 Fireborne Book 2 Silverfall Book 3 Nightsoul Book 4 Shadowmark Book 5 Hellcrossed Book 6 Ironclad
This book was yet another great one in this series. Erin was such a fantastic character in this one - feisty, determined, ruthless and passionate. So much happened to her, so much happened by her and I was rooting for her the whole way through this book.
Determined to get the Veil opened again so Mephisto can return, Erin has to take on two powerful enemies - her aunt being one of them. She uses everything she knows about her magic and then some to try to force a deal, but Fabian doesn't give in easily at all. And Elizabeth is definitely a force to be reckoned with as well. Luckily for Erin, she now has access to all of Mephisto's magical artefacts and hopes to find something that can help her, but what she does find, is more intriguing than some magical object.
With the help of Asher and his wolf pack, Erin manages to do the impossible and I have to say I was so glad Asher was there to help out this time. Erin needed more support on her side against these devious, dangerous foes!
I loved what happened with Erin's plan, but that final ending was a complete surprise. She is definitely going to have yet another battle on her hands in the final book in this series, coming out next year.
This is definitely a series you will want to read from beginning to end and is highly recommended!
I will start off my saying that Mckenzie Hunter has written a remarkable set of books with raven cursed. I've read all six in 5 days and the fmc Erin's life is so similar to mine it's scary minus the god/elf heritage and Mesphisto!! It feels like someone who really knows me wrote that character after me lol . Erin's journey is wild, remarkable, hurtful, funny, devastating and passionate all in one. I love her wit and bravery even tho she is breaking on the inside and despised for how she was born, worst luck in the world but she never gives up. I love her unique friends and relationships. Everything u want in a fmc!! Well Mehphisto and her are a powerhouse couple, but I need more on the huntsman from the veil. I can't wait for the next book, with Mehpisto her love, Asher the alpha who always has her back and his pack, Corey her best friend and powerful witch, her fae ,&,-sister Maddie, will they be able to handle all the threats coming for Erin bc she is a powerhouse just learning her power or will our demigoddess explode on her enemies like the bomb she is??!!! IF U HAVEN'T STARTED THESE BOOKS DO IT U WONT REGRET IT!!
This book picks up right after Hellcross ends and Erin and Cory are hard at work trying anything and everything to solve how Fabian powered the spell that has locked the Veil. Many revelations are explained and Erin is confronted with many dilemma’s to stay alive from her blood thirsty family and enemies alike.
As it happens Erin is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to save Mephisto. And a big Wtf moment that will blow your mind.
The plot was riveting and the characters wowza I'm can't wait for the Audible! I simply can’t wait to hear these characters voices come to life.
The twists had me biting my nails and I can barely wait to see what happens!!! This is an absolutely amazing must read! Sooooo many questions and I’m loving it!
This series is absolutely fantastic and exciting I urge you to grab a copy and dive in. Don’t expect sleep though 😂😅 definitely a keep you up all night series.
Ironclad is book 6 of the Raven Cursed series and it picks up right where Hellcrossed ends. Erin is devastated by the closing of the veil and will stop at nothing to reopen it. Erin is willing to do anything to stop Fabian and Elizabeth from winning. Can Erin defeat them save Nolen and fend off Landon all while trying desperately to be reunited with Mephisto? This book is a rollercoaster ride of action, heartbreaking choices and sheer grit and determination. I couldn’t put it down. I’m sleep deprived and in awe. I can hardly wait fir book 7 Erin has proven time and again she is fully capable of rising above any challenge thrown her way but with each new challenge navigating these waters proves ever more difficult as each solution brings new challenges to the table. A must read installment to an absolutely fantastic series!
I've given pretty short reviews of these books so far, but I just wanted to write something, get the 5 stars out there, and continue with the next book.
I absolutely adore Erin. She is one of my current favorite female main characters. Her humor and determination are what drives this.
Her family and friends are incredibly well rounded side characters. Everyone adds to the humor and story.
As for her love interest... Mephisto is perfect. Perfect for Erin anyway. He has his own flaws and a ridiculous amount of strengths, but the two of them together are perfect.
The story arc continues wonderfully, and all the things Erin has been putting off, because there's only so many world changing things you can deal with at once, are starting to come back to bite her.
My Review: My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶 Pages: 254 Genre: Urban Fantasy
I have read each and every one of McKenzie’s books. Her character building is phenomenal. This book is no exception. She hooked me with the Sky Brooks series and this one is even better.
We pick up where Elizabeth and Fabian have closed the veil and sent Mephisto to the other side. Erin swears to reopen the veil and be reunited with Mephisto. Erin faces so many obstacles in this book. Not only reopening the veil, reuniting with Mephisto, saving Nolan, warding off Landon’s determined demands, and serving Fabian and Elizabeth the justice they so very much deserve. We get to know Mrs Harper and her cunning ways a bit more in this book. We also get hints that Asher has his own HEA brewing.
I read this book in one setting. Stayed up to 3:30 am reading because I could not put it down. This book will hold you captive! If you love elves, fae, magic, shifters and vampires you will LOVE this series!
I highly recommend you read this book and series!!!!
This book was definitely better than the last book in the series. Aaron is looking for a way to open the veil so she can reunite with her lover. Mephisto has been looking for years to figure out a way to open the veil so that he and his friends could get back home, but now, they have been sent back to the veil, and the veil has been closed. Not only is Erin, trying to figure out how to open the veil, but she has a vampire trying to get her to help him make progeny. She also hast to deal with the elves and a frame job by the Fae. I will be reading the next book in the series since it is supposed to be the last book. I am interested to see how the author is going to close out the series.
Good grief! This book almost had me chewing my fingernails down to the quick! That hag Elizabeth thought she had one on Erin. Her first mistake. Once Erin finished her spell on the elves and got Nathan away from them unharmed, she ended up meeting with the Fae rulers. It didn’t go well for her. Landon is insufferable…I wish he’d just give up on his quest to sire progeny with Erin. Especially with Mephisto back in the picture. We shall see. This one ends with your heart in your throat…I can’t wait for this next one to come out.
I absolutely love Erin and the further we get into her story the more of a boss she becomes. Losing Mephisto was such a major hit but when you have somewhere to concentrate all your anger and attention it’s amazing what you can do and man does she do it!!. Ironclad is jam packed with action, the characters we love are all evolving to new heights, it was an absolute amazing read that kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved every page.
Erin is fighting to get Mephisto and the others back when she is framed and has the fae after her. She will have to rely on others to help her in the fight. This book closes the majority of the storyline that has been going on. There is so much more that happens that I didn't write about. I am not spoiling this for anyone. This is a must-read. I love Erin and Mephisto together and the dynamic between them.
Erin is back at it and boy does this not disappoint. Make sure to read the books in order or you’ll be confused. Just to be clear I am team why choose but since I have to choose, I’m team M all the way.
Now to the nitty gritty…this one is a wild rollercoaster. So much happens and some loose ends are tied off. The ending is intense and leaves you wanting to throw you kindle or phone because you now have to wait.
When I tell people about this series, I always describe Erin as a non-traditional heroine. She breaks the mold and is relatable with her decision making and struggle. This book really tugs at you as she moves through the impossible journey. I really enjoy her arc, the supporting characters, relationships, and adventures. This book brings closure on a lot of issues and opens the door for new adventures. I am looking forward to the next.
This one at four verses the last one Cause we get spoiled eh? 😊 And these cliffhangers! Would’ve KILLED ME if i had to wait for the next one to be written! (Which reminds me…) The next one is the last one?! 😭 I am seriously LOVING this universe! I want more! A story from her sister’s point of view? How about Cory’s? Don’t forget Alex! AND! Now i want offspring! From the power couple! And Asher! His relationship and Ms. Grumpy! ☺️😊
Another fantastic installment to the Raven Cursed series! Brilliant character development, I love the interaction between Erin, Corey, Mephisto and Madison. They have grown so much over the last few books, it's really lovely to see how their relationships have developed. As for the story line *chefs kiss*!!! An absolutely amazing read!
The story keeps moving and I love it, but I am sad to see the end nearing. I hope Erin finally gets the peace she deserves.
I just love the characters this author brings to live. She makes you bond with the characters and share their struggles and their joys. Her books always pull me in because of her characters.
I love this well written story it has a lot of twist and turns. The plot and characters are fantastic. My dissatisfaction is the time it takes to write the next book. I understand a few months is needed but 12 months is just nuts.. this will be my last book read from McKenzie Hunter.
The hits keep coming for Erin. Every time she solves one problem, more pop up. It is like supernatural whack a mole. She has amazing friends who support her. This book really felt more emotional to me. I think because she acknowledged her feelings more for Mephisto. I love this series and highly recommend it.
This review is just for my own personal reasons and has no value to anyone else. While I liked the book, I doubt I'll pick up the next one because, by the time it is released, I'll have forgotten the story line. I have so many books in my TBR pile and, honestly, this would not be a series I would ever reread in order to fully appreciate book #7.
Bereft after the loss of Mephisto and the closing of the Veil, Erin vows revenge against Elizabeth and Fabian. Their manipulation isn't done yet, as they drag the fae into the conflict. In addition, Landon is still determined to make her help him sire a new line of vampires.
I have read quite a few series of books but this group has held my attention the best of any series. Give this set a look at it may just pull you in just remember we all have to return to the real world even though our book world is preferable at times. This is a book world to consider.
Another fantastic episode in Erin's rollercoaster life. Horrific villains getting their comeuppance, Erin's magical abilities developing in leaps and bounds, hot scenes, sexy God's, vampires, witches. This book has everything. Can't wait for the next and final episode on Erin's adventure
This one brought me to tears! Erin has been through so much in her journey. I've loved learning about Erin from the beginning. She's made me angry and made me laugh. This book, though. WOW. I can't wait to read more! I want more!!!
I love this series but this was my least favorite of the story so far. Maybe because of the Asher situation or that she was channeling her inner Sky Brooks??? Still love the series and the author. I am looking forward to the next one! 4.95
I love McKenzie Hunters books they never disappoint. Her characters are amazing, storyline is exciting and keeps you wanting more. I highly recommend everything she writes.
It was extremely difficult to get through this book. I can read a 300 pg book in half a day and this took me literally months. I wish I could give it a better rating since all other books were so good but this actually made me decide to quit the series.
His book was probably the best of the series so far! It had lots of action mixed with the plot and everyone came together to fill their characters! I expected it to end happy but the author does it again and gives another great twist!
