HILARIOUS! love me some Irish!
Irish be a funny feck. With a glorious accent. Devilish wit. And a fighters physic and fortitude. We like him, oh yes we like him a lot. He thinks he’s hung up on his ex Charlotte- but then meets a lass in the dark he mistakes for Charlotte. Best thing that ever happened to him. We don’t like Charlotte- you won’t either.
The heroine, CeCe, has a seeing eye dog named WALDO. He goes missing. I get to mentally ask “Where’s Waldo?” Picturing a poodle in a striped shirt with a beanie hat. CeCe is a cool and down chick. Her brother Pagan is a brother and is very protective over his sister, especially now that she’s lost her sight- a little too protective. There were times I wanted to pull these men’s beards out with there attitudes towards CeCe. The real danger CeCe faced was not a man who might want to take advantage of her; it’s the jealous women who “hang around.”
Lastly, each installment reveals a little more of the President’s personality; he was mean and frankly scared me a little in the first book . He showed a little of his softer side in this installment; Kingpin is thoughtful and kind in his decisions regarding CeCe. Overall great book, but even better series, highly recommended.
