One Hellbent Hawk
Rugged tracker and Civil War veteran Tristan Hawk is hellbent on accomplishing his mission to serve justice.
Railroad tycoons Ames Hathaway has enlisted Tristan Hawk to go after the Rip Bateman outlaws who have kidnapped the younger 15-year-old Baker Hathaway. Bateman and his lackeys had been working for Ames until they were fired for abusing Chinese railroad workers, and Bateman’s way of revenge is a kidnap-for-ransom.
A lot is on the line for Tristan, including Baker’s life and the safety of anyone who gets too close to Bateman and the outlaws.
And Ames is under pressure to make sure the new railroad line is built as soon as possible.
Along the way, Tristan has to come to grips with the seemingly never-ending painful memory of his wife’s accidental death. But helping to ease that heartache is the lovely Bella Montgomery.

Hawk and Buford have their hands full with an ongoing series of unending robberies/killings!
Mr. Black proves himself to be an Author worth following in this compassionately entertaining revelation of realistically renditions of old American western folklore extravaganzas! No slowdowns throughout this compelling western masterpiece, as each new encounter is definitely worthy of your undivided attention!
The Author's superbly descriptive storylines successfully appeases anyone's undivided attention from beginning to end! The thrill of one exciting western folklore extravaganza after the other leaves no stone unturned in the descriptiveness of each and every new encounter! Too, the character selections could not have been any better portrayed, as the crazy leader of the banditos certainly will appease your innermost expectations with each new encounter! Too, the good guys go above and beyond in their quest for justice, which is definitely slowed by the elusiveness of the bad guys!
Most definitely recommend this compassionately motivated, and definitely heartwarming, series of compelling western folklore extravaganza! This compassionately entertaining revelation of one exciting adventure after the other will appease both western motivated reader's appetite, and you non-western enthusiasts will also enjoy following Hawk throughout his ongoing trials and tribulations, in his efforts to bring justice to those responsible for their wrongful devilment!!!😃

Excellent story
Great characters embedded in a great story of bad men who are filled with greed and hate. The bad men kidnapped the railroad owner's son and Hall has to track them down.

Our Author lays out a great plot, plenty of details and ties up loose ends better than almost anyone.
On the negative side the prose tends to not flow smoothly and is often redundant.

I really enjoyed the book, the first of William Black for me. I will, however read the next one as well.

Determined to succeed
Never gives up is the phrase to describe Hawk. Great storylines and many other interesting characters that are essential to making this another great read!

The story was easy yo follow and really offered few surprises. There were numerous issues that should have been caught in editing,’but weren’t. A typical western.
