The lies we tell ourselves as children become the truths we live by as adults, and the Miller house was full of lies. Two girls grew up in this house, each taking a different path to survive her abusive childhood. One chose a path of rebellion and self-destruction, while the other played the role of the good girl and caretaker--but both girls knew how to keep secrets.
If it is true that we are only as sick as our secrets, both Miller girls were in real trouble. Distrusting people and resenting a God that would allow their abuse drove these sisters deeper into their secret-keeping world, until the day they let a few godly people behind their protected wall of silence.
Although they were saved, childhood habits are hard to break. Who could have guessed that God would use something as devastating as a murder trial to expose their most painful and protected secrets and finally bring freedom to both of the Miller girls?
Dorey Whittaker lives in central Virginia with her husband, Bruce. She and Bruce have been married for forty- five years, raised two daughters, have four grandchildren, and have partnered together in lay ministries for over forty years.
Having completed Wall of Silence and Hope Returns, Dorey is busy completing book three of this well received series.
This is an awesome book. Full of intrigue, mystery & suspense. I would love to see this made into a movie or miniseries, if they could find suitable actors to portray the characters.
this story will touch your heart. Keeping secrets from childhood has affected their adult lives. Lisa and Susan face the future wondering if they should allow the secrets out. A really intense spiritual story and a must read!
I have just started this book and who ever edited this book did a terrible job. I noticed so many mistakes, not sure I can finish it I might ask for my money back. I see words are hyphen when they should not be, you have one paragraph on a single page and the rest of the page is blank. The story is interesting, and I will read it, but I would think the author would have checked these mistakes before she let this book be published. I will not be reading anymore of her books.
