This book is about the MINDSET and The NON-NEGOTIABLE daily HABITS I applied everyday in prison to make it thru Hell and stay sane while thriving? My MINDSET while INCARCERATED and these HABITS I stick to religiously made me a Multi-Millionaire within' 4 years and I did it saving lives all over the world!!!
I like Wes Watson. I believe in his message and look forward to seeing his reach grow.
The issue with this book is the structure and lack of editing. There are gems in here for sure but when reading it you don't really get a sense of what to do. If he had started with "The Program" and why it's so important in running a tight one, like he did in chapters 7 and 9 then move into "No Days Off" it would have been a more seamless sequence. He's also missing the affirmations and quotes he talks about.
For clarity:
The Program refers to the non negotiable tasks you do daily. If you said you were going to do something for yourself you can't break that word. This builds consistency and confidence that you can overcome obstacles since you're choosing your suffering. Whether it's less sleep, less food, or other vices.
Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) refers to your self talk during the tasks. While focusing on being present and accomplishing what you're doing you build your mental strength. If you haven't committed to the program your conscience will give you regret and you'll slip back to negativity. You have to earn your PMA daily by stacking wins. Over time this positive self talk and using regret as a guideline will create the mental toughness you desire.
These two refer to your conduct and your character. Your conduct is how you handle yourself around others and conduct yourself at your lows. Your character is your core beliefs. Strive to work on your weaknesses, whether thought patterns or negative behaviors.
Wes believes removing every distraction in order to achieve your goals. Otherwise you'll never get what you want. Initially the "acquire what you admire" mindset is superficial but as you learn to fall in love with the process and not the results everything means more. You are becoming the person you want to be rather than amassing superficial things.
This is a phenomenal message and more importantly Wes comes from a different angle of being able to communicate and influence people who've had a troubled past.
Get and read the book, look for things you can apply to your own life. For me, his reasoning of the No Days Off mindset was striking. There are no days off in prison as there are no days off in the animal kingdom. You have to work daily to not only get the things you want but become the person you want to be.
If you don't know who Wes Watson is, this book might confuse you. If you value writing style, this book will probably disappoint you. Wes Watson is not a writer and probably should have hired one. But perhaps that would have softened the extreme and raw character of this book. When you read this book, you are reading an unedited and harsh perspective of a man who spent 10 years in prison and, through extreme asceticism, isolation, and reading wisdom, reprogrammed his mind and life to have a stronger, wiser and more disciplined mindset than most people.
If you are open to learning from such a different person, read this book.
To start off I’m a huge fan of Wes Watson. His early YouTube videos are badass. Some really crazy stories from the Pen and as someone who was a shot caller at many spots, many yards Wes has all the credentials to speak on it. This book however was rambling, disorganized and appeared to have no real editing done whatsoever. Like I said I’m a huge fan of Wes Watson but I’m also a reader who appreciates a well written book and this was kind of disappointing. I think if some more time and editing went into this book it could have been awesome.
"Put this shit down and earn your Ws. Let's fucking get this."
Finished, I slam the book on the ground and storm outside. I'm in fucking beast mode, fully aligned consciously and physically, with a clear path to my goal. As I stomp down the block, the owner of the asian cornerstore looks away from his cigarette to say greet me... the old me, the BITCH me. I cut him off; "Get me 150 grams of protein, NOW."
He seems confused, and doesn't react for a moment. "Wha..."
"Oh I'm sorry, do you not fucking speak English, Dong? ONE. HUNDRED. FIFTY. GRAMS. OF. PROTEIN. NOW!!!"
Dave snuffs his cigarette (oh yeah, his name is David and he speaks fluent English, real nice guy. But this is MY block, and that makes him MY BITCH.) He says; "Are you doing a bit right now, becau..."
I cut him off with a stern point inside; "PROTEIN. NOW." I'd actually like to make an improv sketch on the sidewalk, but that's not what I fucking came down here for. My goal is NON-NEGOTIONABLE. I came here to get nutrients for my workout, and I'm fucking getting them.
I watch him walk towards the back, constantly reminding him he's a soft-ass, grown-ass man with TITTIES. He's actually aged very well for a 70+ year old smoker, but thats NO FUCKING EXCUSE for not being your best self.
Now at this point you must be thinking, "Why are you being such a racist and disrespectful piece of shit? Karma is gonna get you." Well it always fucking does. That's how you navigate the path. And here comes karma to guide me.
He starts hucking eggs. Must've been at least three dozen of them sumbitches. I'm catching all I can in my mouth. Well over the daily amount I came for. Belly full, I walk back home to get my pump on.
That's the other thing. You're a BITCH because you don't have a Positive Mental Attitude. You see that situation as me getting pelted for being an asshole. I see at as me getting my macros for fucking free.
Do I regret harassing Dave? Fuck no. When we remove what we regret in life, that's when we level the fuck up. "But Pat, you're covered in eggs!" FUCKING RIGHT! In progress, discomfort becomes your comfort zone.
See, that's the difference between you and me. You get egged, I get YOLKED.
Full disclosure: I have been one of Wes‘s coaching clients since March 2021 because I looked at myself in the mirror one day and I did not recognize the person staring back. To say his program changed my life is unnecessary because I’ve already written and posted about it extensively.
What you want to know is whether this book is worth your time. And I have an answer for you.
If you have seen Wes’s YouTube videos or watched his Instagram, this book is another iteration of his universal messages.
What does that mean?
How you perceive this book reflects your world view.
If you choose to see it as a pitch for his coaching program, that’s what it will be. If you choose to use this as a motivational read in the morning, that’s what it will be. If you want this book to be a cautionary tale about what happens when you fully give into vice, that’s what it will be.
There is enough white space in this book so you can highlight, make notes, and otherwise mark it up over and over again. And each time you read it you will figure out something new about yourself.
So, with all the free videos and content available, is this book worth it?
If you are ready to go deep into the weeds and get honest with yourself, that’s a resounding “yes”.
Book Summary: The book you've outlined centers on the principles of self-discipline, personal growth, and the power of mindset. It emphasizes the importance of focusing on the process rather than the end result, encouraging readers to take deliberate steps toward their goals. The key message is that true contentment and success come from the consistent effort put into daily habits, rather than the pursuit of instant gratification or external validation. The book advises that regret should be viewed as a guiding force, highlighting the areas in life where change is necessary to align with one's true self and purpose. By addressing regrets and making conscious decisions to eliminate negative habits or influences, individuals can achieve a higher level of self-respect and inner peace. This process involves staying present during difficult times, as this is when the most significant growth occurs. The book also touches on the importance of maintaining a positive presence on social media, as the energy one puts out into the world has a direct impact on what is received in return. It stresses the concept of karma and the idea that our actions and energy influence how others perceive us, even on a subconscious level. A recurring theme in the book is the necessity of establishing and adhering to "non-negotiables"—daily habits that are essential for progress. Success is portrayed as the cumulative effect of these consistent actions, particularly those taken in the morning, which set the tone for the rest of the day. The author encourages a lifestyle of delayed gratification, where short-term sacrifices lead to long-term gains and personal empowerment. The mindset shift promoted in the book is one of moving away from pleasure-seeking behavior toward a purpose-driven life. It emphasizes the importance of developing confidence through action and the pursuit of flow states—moments where one is fully immersed in an activity, losing track of time, and experiencing true inner peace. Finally, the book underscores the value of self-reflection, solitude, and investing in personal development as critical components of success. It warns against the dangers of comfort zones, urging readers to embrace challenges and difficult tasks as a means of building pride and resilience.
What You Can Add to Your Life from This Book: 1. Focus on the Process, Not the Outcome: Shift your attention to the daily steps and habits required to reach your goals, rather than fixating on the end result. This will lead to greater satisfaction and consistency in your efforts. 2. Use Regret as a Guide: When you experience regret, take it as a signal from your conscience that something needs to change. Address these areas to align your actions with your true values and purpose. 3. Implement Non-Negotiable Habits: Establish daily routines that are non-negotiable, such as morning exercise, reading, and setting intentions for the day. These habits will build discipline and set you up for success. 4. Practice Delayed Gratification: Resist the temptation of instant pleasures and focus on long-term goals. This mindset will empower you and lead to sustainable success. 5. Cultivate a Positive Social Media Presence: Be mindful of what you share online. Use your platforms to uplift others and attract positive energy into your life. 6. Embrace Solitude and Self-Reflection: Make time each day to be alone with your thoughts. This practice will help you stay connected to your inner self and ensure that your actions align with your higher purpose. 7. Tackle Difficult Tasks: Build pride and confidence by consistently taking on challenging tasks. This will strengthen your mindset and reinforce your commitment to personal growth. 8. Stay Present During Painful Times: Recognize that growth often occurs during difficult moments. Stay present and use these experiences as opportunities to level up in life. By integrating these principles into your life, you will cultivate a strong sense of purpose, develop resilience, and ultimately achieve a higher level of success and fulfillment.
I really looked forward to reading this book but found there wasn’t much actual content and that really the blurb on the back was just repeated over and over. I personally recommend reading a summary of this book if written would give the key information you need.
The book is more like one large blog post and I found that it keeps discussing the program without actually telling you what the program actually is or about his true struggles in prison and how it changed him.
I gave it 3 starts due to the actually message not the actually book itself. For me I agree with Wes message and I also like his writing style as he feels likes his talking to you directly , just wished he shared more information on how he developed the program and the actually program itself(I may have missed this on first reading but I am assuming you have to buy the program off his website)
In summary key messages are; Have a positive mental attitude to life Don’t take time off, let your conscious be your guide in life. If it doesn’t feel right and you feel guilt then it’s not right , be accountable and responsible for your actions don’t bitch and moan work hard in what you do work to make other people’s lives better . Also the key message of showing gratitude for your life Always find a positive and the importance of having a positive mindset no matter what the situation Our actions should be driven by Purpose not pleasure Strong believe in Karma

Straight to the chase. The thing that makes this a great read is the fact that not many authors or storytellers will have Wes’s experience. It’s his real life experience that makes this a special read. With his discipline, purpose and dedication, Wes is one of the few people that I can is “better than me”. Better in the sense of being more dedicated and determined. That’s not easy for a person like myself to say. But in reading his story and following his social media, I admit that I need to elevate to his level. Purpose over pleasure.
PURPOSE OVER PLEASURE YOUR INTERNAL TALK IS WHAT GOVERNS EVERYTHING SACRIFICE ON PURPOSE TO BETTER APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE HOW IS YOUR KID GOING TO LISTEN TO YOU WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN LISTEN TO YOURSELF Create the person you admire WHEN YOU FIND YOUR INNER PEACE YOU NO LONGER PUSH YOUR PAIN ON OTHERS YOUR WORK INSTILLS YOUR WORTH ALL CEILINGS ARE SELF IMPOSED NO DAYS OFF YOUR PERCEPTION IS YOUR REFLECTION
If you don't know about Wes Watson before you read this book, the way it's written will shock you. It's definitely not written like the standard self-help book, it has a lot of swearing so if you don't like that then go somewhere else! However, if you are a follower of Wes Watson, you can really hear him speaking it as you read. It's a decent book to pick up and remind yourself of the messages
This author completely ruined his message and thoughts with repeated filthy language. I would definitely discourage everyone from reading this book. Any message the author was trying to get accross was suppressed by constant swearing. This kind of language is destructive to peoples minds
This was/is a very motivational book. I enjoyed reading it and believe I am bringing actionable results from it. If you notice the time it took me to read it understand the time is due to it being a physical book (not a digital or audio) that I tended to absent-mindfully leave places and have to go retrieve.
At first you could be put off by what you see when you look at Wes. He’s this big, shredded, tat’ted up, insanely intense guy. He swears and he shouts.
But I like this. I like his style.
You cannot miss out on the lessons he’s written in this book, lessons he’s learned from his life in prison.
This is more then just a story to be told, there are so many gems in here that after reading them it changes your perspective just like that. It’s motivating, words to live by. Its inspires you to want always level up in all areas.
Nothing he says is new if you travel in self-help circles. But the no-nonsense WAY he says it gets through! If you are offended by coarse language, I suggest you get over it and read the book anyway. There’s just too much gold to pass up.
to hear but already knew. I your face truths. Definitely not for those who belive the lies they tell themselves, but for those who are willing to look in the mirror and know there needs to be change.
Lots of wisdom in this book. Put aside the typos and grammatical error and focus on the subject matter. This is an insightful book and challenges your perspective. I'd recommend it.
