Where Do Animals Live?

Rate this book
From where they are hiding to where they call home, animals are very curious creatures. This large-format board book is full of facts about animals and their habitats and is a perfect introduction for toddlers and preschoolers to the "who lives where" in the natural world.

Discover how animals and insects like moles, mice, squirrels, bees, bats, owls, foxes, brown bears, wolves, hedgehogs, penguins, cats, and dogs live, along with clues about their behavior and way of life. The bold pictures pair with the wildly informative text to capture the interest of little ones and have them asking to read it again and again!

Pitched very young, this uses a few short descriptions of animal homes, and some very love-or-hate artwork to illustrate each double-page spread, so we see them in use. A sleeping bear, a squirrel, and some of the regular suspects you might expect both in such a book and in our homes, all feature, and it's fine, but I couldn't say I found anything to rave over. Three and a half stars.

This is a cool perspective-taking opportunity for children to imagine what life might be like as each of these animals. There's some new vocabulary, and some unusual animals, too. The book, both text and illustrations, require high focus, so I would recommend for 3yo+.
