There is an unspoken rule in Merle; avoid Thornwall at all cost. Beyond that forbidden forest, lies the land beyond the veil, where all manner of faes, elves, demons, and beasts roam. Yet, a night of glitz, mystery and glamour over Professor’s Griffith party is enough to tempt Diana and Lily to approach his mansion at the edge of the wood. The masquerade ball engrossed the sisters in a dream until, tragically, the next morning turned into a nightmare.
Lily is gone!
To Diana's despair, her sister vanished in the night, as if erased from time. Every record of her sister disappeared into thin air. No one remembered Lily, not friends, not family. No one was looking. No one believed Diana.
As Diana searches for any sign of her beloved sister, another is doing the same. A mysterious warrior named Amaris from a far-off land is trying to find his brother. When they soon realise their courses align, their destinies become forged, and so, their adventure begins.
Desperate and longing, Diana and Amaris will stop at nothing for those they love. Their path leads them on a perilous journey across Thornwall, where their love for their family is ruthlessly tested and their wills pushed to the brink.
Diana and Amaris begin their mission, risking all for those they hold dear. Will they ever see their loved ones again?
The fantasy aspect reminds me of Enid Blyton, Narnia and Alice in Wonderland - until of course the horrors in the court of shadows. It's gruesome and scary but I kept reading. As for the romance aspect, is it weird if I prefer Diana's relationship with the brother Torren instead of the male lead? Maybe it's just me.
I want to thank the author for sending me an ARC of this book. I received this book through Booktok in exchange for my honest review.
I have been given this ARC as a free gift and am giving my honest review in return.
I was excited to start a new story with Fae worlds and interesting characters but I DNF’d about 1/3 into the book. The story did not grip me and the character of Diana I found to be a little.. airheaded. The book’s writing felt like I was reading a fan fiction written by a 15 year old again and as much as I’d enjoyed (or looked over) the writing skills when I was younger, I couldn’t get past it this time.
The story seemed too choppy, especially in the beginning going from the street at the end of one chapter, straight to waking up in bed in the start of the next. I was quite confused trying to grasp a hold of where I was in the book. And the idea that magic would clearly exist in the world, or is at least a concept Diana COULD be aware of and she was still confused as to why things happened (Amaris not being able to go through the garden at the Professor’s house was a dead giveaway, especially after seeing the ward and ruins floating around) and she seemed to fall for this man five minutes after meeting him so?
I’m aware this is the author’s first book and I’d be very excited to see how the rest of the series unfolds, but for now I wasn’t able to enjoy the stories as much as I’d wanted to.

OMG this is incredible! A well written epic adventure that draws you in and the author has done an incredible job with the world building. We meet Diana who has lost her sister to the fae and our mysterious warrior Amaris who is looking for his brother. They join forces and start their incredible journey to Thornwall, a place where the fae, elves, demons, and beasts live to try and track down their siblings. A fantastic fantasy read filled with mythical and magical creatures, great character building, entertainment, mystery and a fantastic slow burn romance that leaves me waiting eagerly to see where the author takes us next.
Wow .. this book was incredible. Thankyou so much for reaching out and asking if I would like an ARC of this book. I'm so glad I said yes it was just perfect it was my type of book. It was a slow burn and it had me captivated from start to end. I loved the twists and turn sthis book had and the journey that Diana went on in order to reach her sister. I love Amaris he captivated my heart when he was first introduced. I can not wait to see what is in stall for Diana and her sister Lily !!! Definitely deserves my 5 star rating. What a great book to start off my reads in April.
I gave this book 4 stars because it was a little bit of a slow start but it picked up once they started looking for the sister it really got good once they got to Avalon I honestly really enjoyed it an can not wait for the second one! Congratulations to the author keep up the good work it was amazing I loved it!!

After receiving an ARC copy of this book. Wasn't sure what to expect. I really enjoyed the story. Was quite the adventure, I read it within two sittings. I really liked the two main characters Diana and Amaris, loved the connection between them. Will definitely read the next book to see how the story continues.
Diana and Lily are sisters and are in this fantasy adventure. They are warned about the beings around Sinzar but didn’t listen. They go through the forest to a mansion where a masquerade party is going on. But things are wrong in the morning when Lily has disappeared! No one remembers her at all! She sets out to find her and runs into Amaris who is searching for his brother that has disappeared the same way! Now they set out on a quest to find them and answers! Will they? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Thank you for reaching out to me. I received this book for FREE in exchange for my honest review.
I made a review video of this book and my description of Aristo in BookTok. Please check it out. I am more active there. I personally read for escape, and this book is giving me that. I hope that the next book is all about the elves. Diving into this great epic fantasy world is just what I needed.
I request this ARC through BookTok. Was not disappointed. I love all things Fae related and slow burn romance! I'll be honest, I usually go for Alpha-holes but Amaris is a respectful love interest and it's so refreshing. I'm also curious what will happen to the Fae Prince. Can't wait for Book 2! I volunteer as tribute/beta!
Thank you so much to the author for sending me an ebook ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!!
Rating: 3.5/5 Spice: 1/5
It reminds me of a couple book series that I loved, such as Caraval by Stephanie Garber and Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco. The sisterly love is where the similarities lay. Like Caraval and Kingdom of the Wicked, we follow a girl named Diana and her sister Lily. Lily disappears and so ensues a quest to find her.
I absolutely loved Amaris and Torren. I’m kind of curious if this will turn into a love triangle. The banter between Torren and Diana was adorable and I liked how she spoke her mind to him without a care. By the way, there’s some mild wing sensitivity loosely mentioned and I realllllllyyyyy hope that the author explores this somehow in the future! Amaris is so sweet and protective with/of Diana and I want to see their relationship grow or shift or really anything! I just would love to see more depth to their relationship in the coming books in the series! I would absolutely enjoy having the characters spend some time in Sinzar!
For people sensitive to this kind of thing, just know that this book is written in first-person, present-tense which kind of threw me off in the beginning as I’m not used to reading in present-tense, but I got used to it as the book continued and I really didn’t mind it at all.
Here are the reasons why I rated this book 3.5 stars rather than 5 (as usual, the following could contain spoilers, so please continue reading at your own risk): -I liked the FMC (Diana) because of how sweet and kind-hearted she is even to people who do her wrong. She’s very forgiving. I do hope, though, that in book 2 and beyond that her character develops more. I feel like her strength in this book was constantly sourced from other people, I want to see her find her own strength in herself and to realize she’s not useless. I’m honestly hoping the author incorporates the “hidden power” trope for her character in book 2, I’d really love to see her come into her own in that way as well. -Aside from just Diana, I hope all of the characters develop more as the series continues because I really liked all of them, but just would love to see more backstory into these characters. For example, I’d love to know more about Amaris and what darkness his father thinks lives inside him, etc. -I want to see more questions answered. For example, the prophecy that was given to Diana, I want to see how this plays out more. Sometimes you could tell why a book is titled the way it is. For this one, I could sort of see it, but not until the last few chapters of the book, so I’m curious if we will obtain more of an understanding behind this just because I’m a nerd and love the easter eggs authors tend to throw into their novels! -This last thing is super nitpicky, but because this is an honest review, I feel it necessary for people who do mind this type of thing to stay aware. There are minor grammar mistakes/misspellings here and there. It doesn’t happen so often that it’s like every other sentence, but it happens enough to be mildly distracting. The misspellings had occurred even in the characters’ names every once in a while. I am not usually one to really care about this, but I know for some people it can take them out of a scene and I do hope that this isn’t as big of an issue in the future books in the series, though.
Again, the author gifted me with an ebook ARC of the book in exchange for an honest review!
Wow! What a wonderful read! This book pulled me in with the unique world building, characters, romance and adventure. It had a sort of mixed vibe similar to Alice in Wonderland, Narnia, and Lord of the Rings all in one.. and a talking dragon! The chemistry between Diana and Amaris was brilliant. I hope to see more of Torren later, and look forward to seeing where the story goes from here. Loved it!
This book was super slow to start but when it picked up it really picks up. I am a sucker for slow burn romance and this has that as well as every mythical creature you can imagine. This book is about the love of siblings but also has romance and suspense. I would have liked to see a little more about Finn and lily but it was great! This book was a little steamy but also had all the heart warming gooiness you want. This book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions.
A stunning fantasy debut! An easy read than can consume you and make it hard go put down. Hoyle shows interesting world building in this epic fantasy bursting with colour and imagination. Building in the typical fae, elven, and ogers, Hoyle has added celestial beings and talking swords, romance and war. A must read.
I loved the adventures this book brought. I adored Diana and Amaris together. The way they cared for eachother was spectacular! I'm hoping there's a second book to continue this story.
I really wanted to love this novel, and it wasn’t terrible but it was very repetitive and I found myself having to force myself to read it. I got to 60% and I just couldn’t go on. I like the idea behind the plot but I felt the story progressed so slowly that I felt the book could of been 300 pages shorter. The world building was interesting but I found that sometimes the world building was too much and didn’t need to be so long. Overall it was too repetitive and generic of a story, but it is the authors first ever book so of course over time their books will improve so I wouldn’t not read anything by this author again. (I received this arc for free for an honest review)
I tried, I really really tried to get into this but I DNF’ed 1/4 of the way through. It was repetitive and way too cliche for my personal taste. I wanted so badly to like it because it sounds like a good story, and it could be, but honestly reminded me of a short story I would have written back in junior high for English class. I don’t mean to be harsh, there’s a lot of promise I just think it needs better editing. *I received this as an ARC for my honest review*
I received this book for free as a TikTok Book ARC for an honest review.
This is a story about a young woman who not long after returning to her home, loses her sister to the tricks of the fae. Soon she finds herself allied with a dangerous warrior looking for his brother. She will do anything to get her sister back. But despite all her sacrifices, will it be enough to get her sister back?
This is a fantasy book highly inspired by fairytales, with twisted takes on all our fantastical creatures while somehow keeping their mythical fancy intact. I love reading stories where the fairytale creatures still keep their magical whimsy while also updating their actions for a more modern, and older audience.
This book is very much for those who love deep world-building, as, especially in the bigging, the explanations of all the different factions and magical facts can be overwhelming, and to my migraine self, almost put me to sleep a few times.
Still, the action is pure chaos, and once the journey really gets going, the balance between information, character building, and action makes reading a deep pleasure.
This is not a book you can skim, but it's all the more enjoyable for those who put the time in to really dig their teeth into what is in front of them.

This story follows Diana who attends a party with her sister Lily. This estate lays on the border of Thornwall where the fae and other creatures that lurk about reside. When Lily goes missing Diana teams up with Amaris who is looking for his brother, together they journey to find them.
So here’s the thing with this book I was in and out of reading slumps. Due to a few books in the past weeks that I was struggling to get through. That is not the authors fault it’s simply mine and my mood reading habits lol I struggled to get through this one for that reason and because the book starts off a bit slow but does pick up. However, the writing and storyline is pretty good. I liked the world building and action. The romance is a slow burn. Amaris is great and peaked my interest the moment we met him.
I know there’s plenty of you out there that would enjoy this book and it’s now available!
Diana's sister has disappeared without a trace. She's trying to find her when she meets a warrior, Amaris, who's working to find his brother. With the two teaming up, they hope they can figure out where their siblings have gone before it's too late.
The world building in this story was absolutely fantastic. I loved the way the author had us dive in to the worlds and gave us a captivating story full of action and adventure.
There is minimal romance and takes a back burner to the action that is taking place. I would've liked to see something develop a little faster, since this is slow even for a slow burn.
To start off, I’d like to thank Niro J Hayle and their team for giving an ARC for my honest review.
I absolutely loved every second of this book. I honestly wasn’t sure how much I could get into it just for the fact the last book I read was amazing, but this book snagged my attention right away.
I love the world and all the characters that are introduced. The main character, Diana, can be a bit slow with all the hints but I actually like that about her. She’s not a perfect, know-it-all character. I probably wouldn’t have made it as far as she did to be honest.
I am definitely excited for the next books within this world and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a fantasy book. I do want to mention that it can get graphic near the middle and end, so please make sure to look into the trigger warnings of this story before you start.
My friend Tobi and I read the book over the weekend. While our opinions about the book are the same, our ratings are different. Most of us have outgrown this kind of book. We have moved to reading billionaire, mafia, grimdark, pnr and alien romance. This book does have aliens though so Tobi give it 3*. I give it a 5* because I still miss those magical times in the past, days of percy jackson, cruel prince, weird creatures, fantasy portals and my hp fandom. I imagine the dragon look like charizard because he walks on two feet. Though I can't comprehend how Aristo looks like. This was fun for me. Thank you for the trip down memory lane.
Checkout my full review over at instagram. Thank you for the eARC. Looking forward to the second book.
I thought this was a very interesting story with some really great ideas. But it seemed to move to fast and didn’t explain things probably. I found myself have to stop and go back to reread to make sure I didn’t miss something. The writing seemed to jump around a lot. I love the characters but sometimes it was hard to keep them straight because the appear so suddenly into the storyline with multiple new characters at one. Overall liked the book but was hard to stay into the story.
This book built a beautiful picture of the worlds and the monsters and creatures, the intricate details of the world really helped to imagine you were there. It kept me guessing the whole way through. I enjoyed reading this book and being surprised both the big and small twists. I would like to thank the author for reaching out via booktok to send me a copy in exchange for an honest review, I wanted to enjoy this book and I was not disappointed I thoroughly enjoyed it and had me on the edge of my seat!
I was provided this book in exchange for an honest review. This book started a bit stronger than it ended. I struggled to get past the fact that literal magic was happening in front of the MC and she acknowledged it but acted shocked by the fact that there were none humans in the world. The world building was lacking something that draws you in and the MC wasn’t flushed out. Overall I give it 2 stars.

I wholeheartedly enjoyed reading this. There was a great blend of action, mystery, storytelling and romance in this book. It did have some errors regarding spelling and grammar errors— but I did receive this before it released so maybe there will be more editing. And— Amaris? 😍😍 I really hope there will be a sequel to this book I would buy it in a heartbeat.
This book was given to me as an ARC. It's romance fantasy and look at that cover!!! How could I resist?!
What I loved: The world building was descriptive and gave me the magical visuals I need for this genre. I really liked that there are maps. Interesting variety of characters, every kind of mythical creature you can think of and a kick ass main character. Loved the dynamic between her and Aramis.
Things that challenged me: Took a little bit of time to dig into it and for it to pick up. However, once it got going I enjoyed it til the very end.
Overall: Very enjoyable read and looking forward to more from the author.
This is a solid effort. It reads like an epic adventure, and brings to mind The Wizard of Oz and The Hobbit. Add in a robust, slow burn romance, and you gave all the ingredients of a great story. The editing was atrocious, but I was reading an advanced copy, so I imagine this will be corrected in the final product. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment. *I received an ARC of this book, and am providing an honest review.*
I loved this book so much. It caught my attention from the beginning and just kept getting better. I fell in love with the characters and the storyline is amazing. I will definitely be reading anything written by Niro J Hayle. Hopefully another book with these characters because I just need more! It’s my new favorite book!
I was asked to read this book in exchange for an honest review, I was not paid to do this!
I really enjoyed this story, I loved the characters throughout the book, my favourite being torran ☺️, the world building was great as was the story, a world filled with magic and mayham and a nice dash of spice. I definitely look forward to seeing what happens next.
The only reason I gave it 4 not 5, stars was I found the first few chapters to be a bit of a slog, the pacing felt off and I felt like I was being told a lot of information, but in a rushed way, once I got past that, the book settled into a nice pace for me and felt I could enjoy it more without worrying that I've missed something.
This book had a strong beginning for me. It was good and sets up the story well. Amaris and Diana are a good match. Then after she leaves him and goes to the shadow court it felt too long and slow at this point. I like the brother better than Amaris. When she didn't believe her sister or mate that it was true love and then forces her to leave to live her life was rushed. It was an interesting plot and the writing was okay but not something that I will continue.
