SUMMARY
Great Wonders of the World is a DK technical picture book for children. This particular edition explores some of the marvels of the world, covering ancient civilizations, technology, architecture, and natural phenomena. While the book is very text-heavy, it is complemented with frequent realistically-painted pictures and diagrams that serve informational and descriptive visuals, as well as live photographs of more recent “wonders,” i.e. The Empire State Building or pharaoh tombs.
RESPONSE
This book, despite being targeted at a young audience, holds a wealth of information. It delivers this information concisely without being over-simplified, while still holding intrigue. Each page visually flows, and there is very little negative space, stuffing the book with facts.

Sách nhiều hình đẹp, nhiều kiến thức hay về các kì quan thiên nhiên, nhân tạo.
Mỗi tối mình dở ra đọc 1 2 trang, cảm giác như đang đi du lịch thế giới, hoặc đang xem chương trình khoa học ngắn.
Nhờ sách mà mình biết 7 kì quan thế giới chỉ còn mỗi Kim Tự Tháp Ai Cập là còn sót lại tới bây giờ (hồi trước cứ nhầm lẫn Vịnh Hạ Long là 1 trong 7 kì quan cùng với Kim Tự Tháp, nhưng bây giờ đã biết 2 danh mục này khác nhau).

I appreciated the information. Sometimes it was vary vague, though, and said things were a mystery without going into any depth. Maybe it needs updated information. Stonehenge IS coordinated with times and seasons, and Celtic folklore can certainly tell us something about its purpose. It's not the only one of its kind.
Also, it doesn't mention the mounds all over north America. They also line up with stars, take years to construct, may be tombs, and were built by ancient people. I feel these remarkable earthworks are ignored because they don't look as cool as carved stone, but they are still very impressive, due to their size, symmetry, shape, and coordination to stars, and phases of the sun and moon. It's pretty disrespectful to native Americans, leaving them out.
While we're at it, there are burial mounds all over the world.

A great non-fiction book about the seven wonders of the world. This children's book is filled with great illustrations and interesting facts. Plus it's a quick read, a great book overall.

Many cool buildings in this book. Lots of great pictures about the 7 Wonders and it is in our Library.

This book had great illustrations and interesting facts about the ancient 7 wonders of the world. I did not know many of them, so we had a fun time learning together.
