Blind Rebels #1

Bridging the Silence

Rate this book
This is the first book in the Blind Rebels rock star romance series follows Kady, a broken ex-popstar trying to rebuild her life after suffering a devastating traumatic event and Mav, the charismatic lead singer of world famous Blind Rebels, who has been talked into doing a reunion residency in Las Vegas a year after the band broke up in a very public, very explosive way on stage.

Kady
I was a pop princess. American royalty. Until my ex, armed with a gun, turned my super star existence into a grisly nightmare. Now, living in a prison of self-inflicted silence, I'm battling to break out of my isolation by rediscovering the world from behind a camera lens.

Mavrick
Our band, The Blind Rebels, was globally famous…until our very public implosion. And I know, I share plenty of blame for that after tackling one of my bandmates on stage at Madison Square Gardens. Our label wants us back together. They don’t know our guitarist stole my fiancée and had a child with her.

I didn’t think I could ever trust a woman again . . . until I met Kady. She’s just as broken as I am, shattered by the heartless actions of another. Can we put our painful, self-doubt aside and learn to trust each other? Or will wounds from the past destroy our chance at true happiness?

This book contains adult themes and may not be for all readers. It is not recommended for audiences who may be sensitive to discussions involving mass shooting, bodily injuries or death, anxiety and panic attacks.

Such a wonderful rockstar romance debut!!!!!
Mavrick was the lead singer of the hotter rock band Blind Rebels, and Kadence was a former child actor and pop princess.

Their journey was captivating and engaging.
The writing style was beautiful, emotional and appealing, and the characters were relatable.

My only issue was closer to the end, where there was an abrupt swift in Mav’s feelings towards Kady which wasn’t executed efficiently and there was no grovelling from his part. Also, Mav’s background was not explicitly developed.

All secondary characters piqued my interest and I can’t wait for their stories to be released!
Bridging the Silence was a story I enjoyed so much!!!

Thank you, Amy, for my advanced copy.

Kady - Talk about bravery with that girl; she was simply amazing! This girl gives hope on and off the pages. She took her tragedy and made it her bitch in all honesty.

Mav was great and didn't handle her with kids' gloves. He encouraged her to be here and didn't push her to be someone she was not. Now, don't get me wrong about 3 times while reading I did imagine throat punching him. I won't say it because I'm sure once you read, you will figure it out.

As for their chemistry, it was soft and not over the top sappy like some romance book. For this book, it was actually perfect.

The twist broke me, and that is when I needed tissues. At this point, I wanted to throw hands at a lot of the characters in this book.

Side characters were great, but Killian he was a straight-up dick. Hopefully, Killians book redeems him.

Wow! What a debut novel from Amy Kaybach!

Mav and Kady's journey is so beautiful. I love how this isn't just another rock star romance. There's a huge twist that makes Kady such amazing heroine of the story.

At first I was a little unsure about Mav and his attitude but once he started to care for Kady, ugh just so sweet and protective!

This is a great read and I can't wait for the rest of the series!

I absolutely, positively loved this story and I feel extremely lucky to have been given the opportunity to receive it as an ARC.

The character development was fantastic, and I loved how Amy Kaybach was able to show the amazing personality Kady possessed despite her inability to speak. Mav just made my heart melt regardless of some of his more "assholeish" tendencies. Watching (reading??) the two of them grow and learn together was just refreshing. If I could have asked for anything in this book it may have been a little more background on Mav, it touches on the root causes of his anger issues but doesn't seem to go that in depth on it. That said, it by no means detracted from the story. I cannot wait to read more in the Blind Rebels. I'm especially looking forward to reading Kill's story and see what his deal is.

This was such an amazing story and I can't wait for the next one in the series! I couldn't put this book down! The characters of Kadence and Maverick are so well-developed and the writing is so descriptive that you are drawn in to their story and feelings. Their story pulls on your heart strings and you just can't wait to see what happens next. If you love a story about overcoming adversity and pushing through life's struggles, this is the book for you. As a lover of rock & roll, this was the perfect love story for me to delve into. There are so many things you want to happen for the characters, and the author comes through with the epic ending you're looking for. Such a well-written first novel and I can't wait to read the next one!

This one gave me all the feels, there was laugh out loud moments, there were moments of real tears flooding down my face and there were moments that just made my heart happy. Bridging The Silence kept me up until the early hours of the morning, because I literally could not stop reading to put it down.

Kady and Mav are definitely one of my favourite book couples and I’d give anything to be able to read this one for the first time again. I loved how Mav seemed to just know what Kady needed and never pushed her for the answers she wasn’t ready to give him. I have been so drawn into this rockstar world and can’t wait for the rest of this series!

Overcoming Your Fears

This book is truly one of a kind. It's not only Rockstar Romance, it's also about healing and finding oneself again after a traumatic event.

Kady and Maverick are cut from the same song but are different versions of that song. Different but at it's core the same.

They both have their trust issues and they both have their battles. Can they learn to trust one another to finally help heal each other? That's the biggest question this book answers for the readers and man do we get the answer.

This books HEA was gorgeous and heartwarming and heartbreaking (in the good way) were you are so happy it just breaks your heart. Kaybach did so much to me emotionally I can't wait to see what she does with thr rest of the series and the band. Except Killian. He can just go away. Lol

Bridging the Silence

Rockstar romance! Need I say more???? I didn't realize how much I would love a Rockstar romance until reading this book!

Mav and Kady make such a great couple to read about. Was it always happily every after for them? Maybe not, especially when there is a HUGE secret hanging over them...will they be able to move past it once everything is revealed??? Guess you better read to find out! I promise you won't be disappointed.

Mavricks world revolves around the band, Kady's world revolves around a serious trauma in her life but these 2 could not be more perfect for each other! I loved reading their story unfold, I felt like I was right there on the pages living life with them!

I have literally nothing but good things to say about this book! This is Amy's first book in the Blind Rebel series and she rocked it 😍

Good news book 2 of the Blind Rebels series will be out NEXT MONTH so you have just enough time to read this 1st book before book 2 comes out.

this book is phenomenal!

New author to me, but I’ll be following up with her future books. The writing was spot on and the story is a must read. I’m always a bit hesitant to read books with rock stars as the H, but the storyline was so unique that I was immediately intrigued. Can’t wait for the next book!

Mav and Kadys story is so very interesting. It's a story rich with emotional 😭 development some from a terrible traumatic event.

I don't like Mav at all in the beginning. I'm not sure he likes himself. Kady is still suffering from a shooting which was horrific and while her scars healed she has lost her voice. The shooting section was handled bravely by the author and some could have triggers from it, most readers will not. Mad men exist and Kady throughout the story attempts to forgive herself and discover what good can come from tragedy.

Mav doesn't grovel enough for his transgression, IMHO. He grows as a person but I'm still got my eyes on him for that incident. 👀

I've grown to love these guys. I'm not sure who my favorite is going to be. It'll probably be Killian because he's least likable, at this point. LoL 😆

Good read for a new to me author.

"It's impossible for me not to love her. She fucking owns me."

This book had my hooked from the very beginning, I couldn't
put it down.

Kadence went through a crazy traumatic incident and
legitimately doesn't/can't speak. She navigates life now with
the use of her phone and her best friend.

Maverick has a hard time trusting and makes that very known
right from the start. Quickly he realizes Kady is worth
opening his heart to.

Every character in the book is amazing. Her relationship with
Cal and Gibson melted my heart. Her texts to Cal had me
crying. Sammy has me very intrigued, why does this man
never sleep at home? I need answers. Killian, I did take me a
while to warm up to him, so grumpy, but in the end I came to
love him too.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in the series, I have
a feeling Cal is going to be my favorite MC 🥰

Bridging the Silence is The first book in the Blind Rebels rock star romance series by Amy Kaybach. This book was my first by Amy and she sent me the book via Amazon and surprised me! I can't even tell you how long June feels (that's when book 2, Blending Chords, is released.)

This story is about Kady, an ex-popstar trying to rebuild her life after suffering a devastating traumatic event that caused her to loose her voice and abruptly ended her music career, Kady wasn't happy with the career she was doing, she loved music but the label never let her do what she loved because it wasn't her brand.

Mav, is a lead singer of world famous Blind Rebels, who has been talked into doing a reunion residency in Las Vegas a year after the band broke up in a very public way.

Kady and Mav both have trust issues. They meet through work, Mav being in the band and Kady as a photographer who can only communicate with typing on her phone, the meeting was very rocky, but Mav redeems himself, watching these two grow was so amazing.

The end of this book was *chefs kiss* I mean it. I sobbed like a baby! I want to tell you all so badly but I also want you to read this- so don't ask me- go grab this book! You can grab it on kindle, kindle unlimited or paperback on Amazon.

I'll definitely be picking up Blending Chords when it's released! Amy thank you so much for this book ♥️♥️

Encore! Encore! This debut from Amy Kaybach left me wanting more. More of the amazingly well developed characters, more stories, just more! Very well written and pulls you in from start to finish. I laughed, cried and talked back to the characters.

I think a screenplay should be next!!!

Maverick , Mav to his friends, had agreed to get back with his band Blind Rebels for Sammy. He’s the drummer and one of his best friend and if he didn’t agree to this the label would sue them, Sammy would go broke. It’s been a year since they performed together because of Callum who stole Mav’s fiancé. It was very publicly done and so was the fist fight on the stage of Madison Square Garden. Tonight for the good of their band the two were going to try and work together on the condition that Yoko, actually Becka keep away and Callum agreed. Kady agreed to photograph the Blind Rebels comeback for the next couple of weeks, until the first night at the job Mav saw her with a cellphone and went ballistic on her. These two have so much in common. Kady’s past is dark and her scars are deep but when she’s with Mav she’s happy. I love the way he takes care of her, it’s really swoon worthy. I loved the ending, it was kind of epic. I’m giving this book five stars and I highly recommend it. Now I’m headed to download book two.

Kadence had a very traumatic event happen to her and she's now mute. Her only communication is using her phone to text people what she needs to say. When Mavrick sees Kadence with her phone in his bands dressing room he looses it on her thinking she's taping them. Now her horrified eyes haunt him. How can he fix this?

Kadence is the bravest woman. She went through something no one should ever go through and came out alive. I was so mad at Mavrick when he took her phone away from her and threw it. I enjoyed Hayleigh yelling at Mavrick when he showed up at their place. I liked how enamored Mavrick was with Kadence's pictures. I love how Mavrick's filter wasn't there when it came to Kadence. He would just say things to make her stay or see her again and it was everything! That ending was just what I needed.

This is my first read from Amy Kaybach and it sure won't be my last. I laughed and smiled. I cried a lot more than anything. This is a beautiful story. I can't wait to read more from Amy.

I really enjoyed the first Blind Rebels book where we follow Mav and Kady's story. I particularly liked meeting all the Blind Rebels and am glad they all get their own book. This book kept me up late at night as the characters just kept calling to me.
I loved the romance and the drama, and how you just know that Kady's secret was going to cause issues. Kady really grew as a person over the timespan of the story. And the epilogues had me in tears.

A Great Start

Pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this story. Kady is sympathetic without being a push over, I absolutely understood her bff Hayleigh's actions and while Mavrick can be a jerk at times, it fit the story. Their relationship starts off horribly, but I loved the getting to know each other parts. As someone who has lived in Las Vegas, I was getting a little nostalgic about the places that were featured. The remaining members of Blind Rebels is definitely worth getting to know and I can't wait to read more.

I was enjoying this book up until chapter 23 when everything turned sideways. It just didn't make any sense the way the story got flipped so quickly and the way Mav reacted because of Kil. I read a little farther but lost interest in it because of what happened. So I ended this this story at chapter 32 and I'm not sure if I will continue with the next book.

3.5*
Liked the story, but parts left me miffed...

The H was an asshole twice and didn't grovel enough... like not even half of it...
The h issue was very lightly addressed and at parts like the author was dismissive of her problems (I'm already on book 3, and it's a point in all books, the female problems are always ignored or treated as less important)

* I can kinda connect with Kady. I want to be a photographer as well. I use to be shy. Still kinda am. Have a hard time with getting myself out there.

* Chapter 2 and I already don't like Cal. Like how could he do that to his best friend someone he called a brother??? That's just not right. I definitely don't blame Mav for his beef with Cal.

* Mav with a baby. That part was sooo cute. I also can't hate Cal too much. He was living the rockstar life and now hes all about being a good father which he is from what i see.
He do anything for his son Gibson
It's Becka I can't stand. Like how could she do that to 2 great men and then do that to her own son. Ugh witch... but you know with a B lol.

* poor Kady. She shoudlnt have had to go thru that with Jarrod. I feel for her so much.
Thankful that she's okay. Hoping she eventually gets her voice back

*ugh Mav is so fine and so smooth. I don't think I can look at cupcakes the same. 🤣🤣
He brought Kady her favorite food. That is so romantic.

*There of course was 2 spots in the story I didn't like Mav but I guess I can understand his reasoning.

*omg people... learn to tell the truth its so much better then hiding or lying. It never does any good.
Ugh why did you do this to me Amy. Lol

*Killian definitely not a fan of him. But there are a few more books and his story I need to read so maybe my view will change we will see but as of right now I can't stand him. What is his problem?

This was such a cute Rockstar romance.
First Rockstar romance I have read and I absolutely loved it.
Mav was such a sweet heart. He had his moments tho.
Kady I'm so excited for her and happy she can finally live her life. Mav was such a big help in that and I'm so happy for them.

Wish there was more of there story. I wasn't done with them.

Not much spice in this book. No complaints though as sometimes it's nice to read book with less spice lol
Sometimes a girl needs a break from all that spicyness. And this was a good one for that.

I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

4.5⭐️ I don’t know where I saw the rec for this book but dang, I wanna thank whomever it was. I’m a sucker for a rockstar romance, and a niche trope I love is someone non verbal. So this was checking boxes left and right. The cherry on top is that her name is Kady. Nothing like reading your own name in a book spoken by a hot rock god 😈🫠😈

Mavrick starts out jaded, and rightfully so. I can’t imagine going through what Cal and his fiancé did to him. Then to have to reunite and play next to someone you considered a brother makes him a better man than me.

Kady is a photographer running from a past that left her mute from a traumatic event. Her path crosses Mav’s when she’s hired to shoot a reunion show and uses her cellphone, which she uses to communicate. Mav mistakes this as her trying to score a tabloid payday. After she runs off in fear, he learns of her being nonverbal and seeks her out to apologize, which begins their relationship.

I loved both MCs in this story and I equally loved the “supporting cast” of side characters. To have friends like Hayleigh and Harden would be incredible regardless of their meddling and overbearing actions. I was so glad they reconnected.

You want so badly to hate Cal, but you really can’t. As he explains he knows he was a crappy person betraying Mavrick, we can’t regret it fully because..Gibson. Mav realizes this also and is able to forgive him. Sammy is just a golden retriever and you can’t help but love him. I’m excited to see more of him as I read on. There’s so clues that he has issues I hope he can overcome. Killian is still on my shit list, but not quite as high. He’s seeming to try to make amends for how utterly cruel he was to Kady but a part of me can’t fully hate him. His gut knew something was foul and he was technically right. At the end, he seemed better with everyone. And I’m sure once I get to his book, I’ll understand him better. Because I love me a dark haired blue eyed band member🩷🩷

Glad I read this when all the books in the series are out because now I can binge them all! This was a great series starter, such a different story line within a trope I already love. Can’t wait to read more.
