I received this book in the second exclusive book box. And I must say, Mrs. Coleman has outdone herself again. This book is a continuance to her book “Birds in The Sky”. It follows the life of Charlie, Demi, Stassi, and Day Night.

When Demi met Charlie in “Birds in the Sky” there was an instant connection. They fell in love quickly. Demi felt a connection with Charlie that he had never felt with anyone, not even his wife. He allowed her to invade his space in a way that no one had ever done before. He knew she was the one. after finding out he was married, Charlie ended things. After a year of no contact, the now divorced Demi comes back into her life and asks her to marry him. They are supposed live happily ever after right? For two people who have gone through so much so fast, there has to be a happy ending ahead, right? This book picks up after these two get engaged. Charlie and Demi fell in love so fast and operated on a level that did not take anyone else’s feelings into consideration.. Does this love of theirs have consequences? Absolutely.

Stassi is a smart, independent business woman who is also the sister of Charlie. She and Day Night, fine ass, single ass, playboy rapper nigga, have had a few run ins in the past but Stassi never was one to mix business and pleasure. She is the type of woman who wants to get it on her own. When Day Night offers her a proposition that she can’t refuse, will she accept it and cross those boundaries or will she turn him down and keep her dignity?

I loved everything about this book. If you’re apart of #AshArmy then you’re probably stuck in Ethicland just like me. It was nice to take a detour with this book though. I love that Ash intertwines other characters from different books of hers into her other books.

We got to see a different side to the good pastor in this book. Wheww. 😩

Never sacrifice who you are for a man.

Time means nothing when you find the right one. Whereas Lo provided Demi routine and predictability, Charlie provided him life.

Is it true that love and power for women can’t exist?

Everyone has a down moment. It’s all about how you bounce back. “Can you make something out of nothing? That’s where you show your value.”

Crazy how both Charlie and Stassi felt like they weren’t loved by the opposite parent.

Act in the accordance of the lord.

“Women will follow and allow the man to take the lead if they can trust. “A woman goes against the grain when they don’t trust your manhood.”

“Be careful how you speak about yourself. Some of that misery you’re attracting.”

“Take everything that a man offers you.”

So I have been dying to read more on Demi but to think he thinks every woman has an agenda and not to trust these hoes I am not sure how I am feeling about him at this point. I will say he is very smooth definitely a ladies man.

“Once you learn to leverage what you have against what these niggas want, you can control the win.”

Is Demi really in love with Bird or is it her youth and the fact that she provides everything he has been missing but he may have been able to get the same from Lauren who adapted to him.

DJ is bad as fuck and just like his damn mama. Charlie is right when he spoke ill will to the media about his feeling of Charlie he should have gotten his ass whipped.

Day!!! Day!!!

Demi is your typical guy wants his cake and eat it too. He loves Lauren after seeing Pastor Nyair show her some attention all the while giving all of his attention to Charlie.

I don’t like Lauren how she is poisoning her son against Demi and condoning his behavior when he is just spewing her hate.

Where is my man like Ethic, Nyair?

You do have to communicate I do like that advice Lo gave Demi.

Day is just smooth with it as well.

I absolutely love Charlie!!

We as women have to find someone that is for us and loves us unconditionally!!

Women friendships are very much needed.

Dj is too damn bad and too damn grown.

Day is too logical about everything and what a way to check Demi at the hospital about his son being there.

I am so glad we got to see Day soften and tell his feelings about Stassi!!

Nyair is the man and a true example of that we all fall short of the glory of God but we don’t let that stop us in our walk with God!!!

I am not happy with Demi and how he handled Charlie at the hospital shutting her out all because of Lauren. Hell did Lauren forget she was caught with Nyair and that had a trickle down effect on her son. I can’t stand Lauren she is messy!!!

If I could give 10 stars, I would. This book hit home for me. Infidelity, divorce, suicide attempt was like Déja vu. My heart was so heavy for Lauren. Losing a spouse of many years to his indiscretions, and flaunting it in her face and around her child (yes I felt that and remember all too well). My heart hurts like hell for DJ😭😭😭. As I’m writing this review I’m trying my best not to revisit my past. I just think God my son is still with me.

Now back to the book. It definitely needs a follow up book. I hope all the characters get through this. Whew this was heavy but I truly enjoyed it. I’m definitely purchasing this book if it prints.

Ashley has done something special to me writing about 2 obnoxious characters: Demi and Day. I just don’t like Demi at all. Day I grew to like but both of them had made me roll my eyes hard multiple times. Like they literally irk my nerves. My disdain for them is the reason for the 4 stars lol. The storytelling is good. I want to see what happens next so hopefully Book Box 3 will do that.

This book had me turning pages like a mad woman. I made the mistake of laying down an reading this book. It’s currently 5am, and I haven’t gotten an ounce of sleep lol. I was just that engulfed in the story line. The characters were on point, and it was nice to see some of them again. I thoroughly enjoyed the book even though the ending had me mad as well. Not really, I was just mad as hell because it ended. I am waiting very impatiently for the next one lol. If you haven’t read AGDEFN, you are missing out on life!

4.5 ⭐️ I just don't know how Ashley does it. She's sick with a pen. Characters you morally don't like but unconsciously routing for. A little secret. The Okafors and Nayair come through in this book. Ahhhh gotta love it. 🙂

Phenomenal, if I could re-read a book everyday for the rest of my life, it would be any book by A.A. Her pen game is on another level, she is one of the best at this 21st Century Urban Lit game.

Now that I've given my flowers, let me get to this mfing review. AGDEFN is a book that is focused primarily on these people: Demi. Charlie. Anastassia. Day. Lauren. And the people in their lives.

I don't want to give too much away, but it was worth the wait and worth the read. Everything came together seamlessly. There was love, there was passion, there was hope, there was trust, but y'all know the flip side is the real side. There was also broken trust, broken hearts, failures, death, heart aches, and so much more.

In Short:

Now, y'all this book had me in my feelings. I finished almost a month ago and it took this long to write this review, because it was emotional, beautiful, sexy, amazing, OHMYGODdidtheyJUST??? crazy. It was so good, so smooth, so dire.... because your actions have consequences. Accountability is a mfer on both sides.

Y'all read this book, its *chefs kiss* amazing.

All I can say is I am all in on the good Pastor. I need more of Lo and Nyair! This isn't their series but their story is fire. Not going to lie, the rest of the story was ok but I was all in on these two. I am sad that DJ is gone, but I think it brought a lot to the story and eager to see what happens next.

A really good book. So sad about DJ though. All of the storylines. This loss shapes everything. Overall, the story felt light and deep and was quickly paced. The thing about AA is even when I don’t agree with the characters' beliefs or actions, I always understand on a human level exactly where they are coming from. I was unsure of this one because I am not a fan of Demi's controlling and possessive ways. But the story was well written. I didn't expect the ending. Very deep looking for the next book.

I read this for a book club, and it was absolutely not what I was expecting. We trusted the note on the book that said this could be read as a standalone and that it would be focused on Stassi and Day, but neither of those things were true. This is a very clear sequel that is focused on Charlie and Demi's story from the first book that we didn't read. Stassi and Day both felt superfluous to the main story. They barely interacted with Charlie and Demi, and their story should have been an actual standalone novella.
Everyone in this book is toxic, but not in a fun way. Demi and Day both sucked from the jump and refused to listen to the VERY CLEAR COMMUNICATION from Charlie and Stassi. Both of these women state their needs and boundaries, and Demi and Day both stomp all over them.
Also, this book needed a trigger warning for child death. I don't know if something like that is normal for Ashley Antoinette's books, but I was not expecting it at all.

Demi is selfish I despise him! I hate when he says “say man” it irks my souls! He wants his cake and eat it too!

Charlie’s young and doesn’t need to be with Demi. Demi ran to his ex wife when it was trouble in the relationship with another woman. The audacity! Charlie was inconsiderate to be asking Demi about coming home to her minutes after learning of the death of his child. Charlie needs to find herself

Lauren is hurt and has every right to be but I’m so happy she is finding her happy in Ni, who I’m so happy has resurfaced in this book. Im hurt for her over losing her son I wasn’t expecting that.

Stasi and Day: I love them both. Day messed up with his works but is fixing it. I want more from them.

DJ was a hurt little boy but him saying what he said about Charlie to the masses he needed an a$$ whipping. At the end his hurt spilled over and led to his death which was sad.

Of course I was super happy for my Ethic family cameo! I need more of them.

Wow is all I have to say! This book was a good time until it wasn't. Even then it still hit so hard, my flabber was gasted you hear me! I loved it, I laughed, I cried, and of course clutched my pearls. This is definitely a page turner and the character development is A1! Do yourself a favor and read this series, it's unforgettable for sure.

I did not see this ending coming at all. Ugh! I truly hate this for Charlie frfr. I ain’t even gone hold you, I was rooting for Demi in book one even though I should’ve wrote him off. After reading book 2 ion know if he can be redeemed cuz he did all that but still I feel like Charlie always looking stupid in the end 😒

There was too much toxicity and it made me mad throughout the book! there was spice, but it was too much for me! I didn't enjoy the plot of the book. Somehow thought, I had to know how the story ended. 2 stars for me.
