Morrigan is no stranger to foster homes. she has spent most of her life staying in them. things are about to change, though, when Filtiarn, a dark knight, shows up to escort Morrigan to her true home in Tír na NÓg. evil is afoot in the kingdom and only Morrigan's reunion with her mother Ceridwyn and grandmother Hecate will complete the triad that will save the land from falling into chaos and darkness.
author Laura DeLuca's fantasy novel invites the reader to journey to one of the most enchanted places in Irish mythology and witness an age-old battle between good and evil. humans, faeries and other magical creatures are caught in this bitter struggle.
i like what Ms. DeLuca has attempted in this story. aside from the fantasy elements, there is more than meets the eye here. she has subtly incorporated adult themes that deal with gender and sexuality. Ms. DeLuca has also raised questions about honor, justice, loyalty, family ties and differences in social classes.
moreover, her style of catching readers by surprise with unexpected twists and turns was evident again in this novel and i was not disappointed.
filled with memorable characters and situations, this book did not only make me stay up late for a few nights because i was enjoying every word of it but it also made me think about certain issues that were hinted at. for a young adult fantasy novel to do that makes this one a book worth reading.

I received a ARC copy of Morrigan by Laura DeLuca in exchange for an honest review. Laura is the author of Destiny, Destiny Unveiled, Phantom, and short story Jessica. Through these books I have gotten the pleasure of going on a fantastic literary journey that I hope never to end. With Morrigan she did not disappoint this reader. In my opinion this was her BEST book to date. I loved how she carefully built up each character fully describing them so you are able to picture them in your mind. Poor Morrigan was raised going from one foster home to another she always dreamed of who her real family was. She dreamed of handsome stranger and often drew pictures with him and of lands she knew nothing about. Then one day she started hearing and seeing things telling her they were her real mother and they needed her and would be sending someone for her soon. So when they did show up she didn't really question them. She had nothing keeping her there so she went with the man it turns out to be the one from her dreams and pictures. They go to a different realm and she finds out she is in fact Princess Morrigan. The scenery that Laura creates is something all little girls dream of. She incorporates the magical elements with care and concern. There are shifters, witches, guardians, gate keepers. Each character increase the fantastic journey that Morrigan goes on to find out who she is and finally find a true family. But at what cost she may find something she wasn't bargaining for. I highly recommend this book for an amazing read. I would also recommend checking out her other books, and she has book 2 of the Phantom series releasing in spring of 2013 called Demon. Player is another book that will be released in January of 2013. You can bet I will be stalking Laura DeLuca for books in the future.

This story was fantastic! It had everything you come to expect in a YA novel with a few extra surprises thrown in to keep you enthralled.
Morrigan knows little about who she is and even less about where she came from. Being an orphan who has been bounced around from foster home to foster home definitely doesn't help her situation. The one thing she knows for sure is that she is different from those around her and she is powerful.
In the story, Morrigan discovers she is a witch princess of a different realm of magical creatures and goes on a quest to save her mother and grandmother from her aunt who has them locked away in the dungeon. She is lead by her guide Filtiarn, a gorgeous lycan who is tasked to help her on her journey. They are met by many challenges along the way and find themselves caring for each other deeply. She needs to make a decision to tip the scales between darkness and light.
As some of the story follows the YA pattern, you know girl meets werewolf, girl falls in love with said wolf, she jumps to conclusions breaks her own heart, wolf proves his love and they live happily ever after or so they thought..., but there are a few twists and turns that are not expected and that is why this story is fabulous.
The story flows beautifully and I was invested from the beginning. Though the details could be a little more descriptive for some of the main characters, there was enough to fill in the blanks and be able to imagine who you wanted them to be. There is also enough drama and suspense and well everything else for me not want to put the book down (which I didn't till it was over.)
So if you like young adult paranormal fantasy novels about powerful witches, lycans, other magical creatures, self discovery, betrayal, and love then this is the book for you!

Morrigan is a young adult who has always kept her magical powers of telekinetics and an ability to control fire a secret. Having been abandoned at birth and moved from countless foster homes her only companions are a set of cats. Much to her surpise she one day comes face to face with a mysterious knight who has appeared in many of her dreams and discovers a magical world that she is destined to save from evil. Descended from a line of magical witches she must rescue her mother, the queen and her grandmother from an evil witch who seeks to destroy them. Morrigan joins the knight on this perilous journey in hopes of not only conquering evil but to find love and acceptance at last.
This story takes you on an amazing quest and in a magical world where anything can happen. I felt transported to a medieval village and much like in a fairytale it completely captured my heart. Morrigan is a typical teen who has lead a very untypical life and you feel for her instantly. She is truly seeking love and friendship. When she meets her knight I couldn't help but want her to find it at last. Not all is what it seems and there were many suprises that were yet to discover. This book certainly stood out for me in the vast ocean of paranormal/fantasy young adult books and encourage anyone who likes these genres to read this. You will not be disappointed.

I've never read fantasy before. Never had any interest, so it was with much trepidation I began to read this...and I was immediately sucked into another land, deeply engrossed and involved in this tale.
It starts in the modern world. You have a teenage girl in school, seeing a strange man outside her classroom window... she has these two cats...she's been going foster home to foster home and is about to get a shock discovery about who her parents were.
One of them was a witch...but the evil witch or the good witch? There's two of them. Which one is her mother?
The strange dark knight takes her to another kingdom. Her house cats become giant cats/Guardians. Her knight is a werewolf that can change as he pleases, but mostly for his own reasons, chooses not to. There's a renaissance village that fears her. Why? Morrigan doesn't know and no one is giving her straight answers.
There are faeries with enchanting kisses and fruit that promises immortality...

Disclaimer: I received this book from YANR Blog Tours for free in exchange for an honest for the blog tour. This does not influence my review in any way.
I think 3 words grabbed my attention: Tir na NOg. Only because the place was familiar from another series (I'll leave it for you guys to ponder on that). Okay, not just Tir na NOg. The blurb grabbed me as well. *o* So with that concept, I thought it might have something to do with faeries and would you be glad to know I was wrong.
I haven't read anything about Celtic mythology, or any books about it (I usually stick to Greek and Roman myths...), so Morrigan was made much more interesting to read knowing that fact. I love the fact that the author placed a glossary at the very beginning of the book - it was very helpful (hey, I'm pretty sure I'll be pronouncing everything foreign-like wrong in the end anyways, regardless of glossary there or not. But I'm sure it'll be helpful for the majority of us).
Here, we have a girl named Morrigan, who's an orphan and moving from home to home constantly. Until one day, she finds out her world isn't what it seems... AND she's different than what she thought she was. She can control fire, read the future (at least a glimpse), and move things... with her mind.
I find Morrigan an enchanting read. Like any fantasy book, we enter a different world that's "parallel" to our modern day world. I love the way Tiarn reacts to Morrigan's technological knowledge/use of modern items in Tir na NOg. However, I did find some things a bit confusing and didn't really make sense. I also loved the choice of words, especially in transitions.
I also loved the way the villains are formed. The author is descriptive and detailed with them (trust me... I had the shudders. No Nightmares though). Just when you think someone is a villain, it ends up being another... (which is a good thing, in my humble opinion). I'm also curious if there's going to be a sequel... due to the way the book ends. ;)
By the way, just because there's a werewolf, does not mean this story is going to be Twilight fashioned. It's not. ;)

I think it's the little kid in me that never grew up, but I love stories like this. First thoughts of Tiarn, I love him and that boy can have me follow him anywhere, "I'll find you." He took a long, deep breath through his flaring nostrils. "I could pick up your scent anywhere." I also love his playfulness in serious situations, "Two against one," he muttered. "Well boys those odds hardly seem fair. Why not wait until a few more of your comrades arrive. So you have at least a sporting chance at victory." Morrigan and Tiarn truly do have the most fascinating conversations:
"It's not a big deal. I just like to draw. Don't you have any hobbies?"
He cocked his head, confused. "What would I do with a hobbit? They are really quite obnoxious."
Not to mention the attitude Morrigan gets when she's pissed, I know it's mean of me to say but it's really entertaining, "Oh, I understand it all right. Your precious freedom was all that you cared about! I was just collateral damage." Honestly what's not to love about this book?

If you like stories of witches, werewolves and enchanted lands then this is the book for you! I am not one that usually reads these type of novels but I enjoyed this one.
The author did a wonderful job of bringing the reader into the story and getting them lost in this enchanted tale.
Morrigan is a young girl who is trying to find her place in a world where she doesn't belong. She has always felt that something was different about her but she was not sure exactly why she felt like she didn't belong. She had dreamed of a dark knight coming to rescue her and make her life complete.
Filtiarn, her dark knight, came and led Morrigan into a amazing enchanted land where she immediately felt at home for the first time in her life. Morrigan had longed to meet her mother and she was finally getting the chance to not only meet her but save her from being held captive. Morrigan has a good heart and wants to help bring peace to her new found home land.
The story has several interesting twists and turns that leads to a battle of good vs. evil! I loved the last chapter that leaves you waiting for the next part of the story!

Morrigan was a fantastic fantasy novel. Loved the beautiful, strong female character. Could not put this book down. Another great novel by my favorite author Laura DeLuca

Morrigan is an intriguing character from the opening pages. She certainly realizes her differences; she even harnesses some of her powers right in front of the students in her high school. Why then, was it difficult for me to accept that she accepted her new reality so easily? Within the first few chapters, Morrigan learns that she is the heir to the throne of Tír Na NÓg, a magical land. Does she accept this so readily because of her powers? Because there is nothing really holding on to her in her suburban town near Baltimore? I think the realization and acceptance happened a bit too quickly for my tastes; however, once Morrigan ventured into the rich landscape of Tír Na NÓg, my complaints died out.
DeLuca crafts a fantasy world I want to live in (well, aside from the whole "battle-between-good-and-evil" thing). The descriptions of the woods (where the fey live) and the cottages are beautiful. Each person that Morrigan and Filtiarn (Tiarn) meet is a stand-out character. There's Bridget, an innkeeper with a sudden change in heart, and Alden, a blind man who is wise and strong, despite his handicap. It's nice to see that in a book with such strong central characters, the secondary characters are not flat caricatures but complex beings. They add depth to the story.
The chemistry between Morrigan and Tiarn is undeniable. Their discussions are interesting and full of great one-liners. It was hard not to be charmed by Tiarn (how could you not be charmed by a handsome, long-haired man sworn to protect the fair Morrigan?), and I think their relationship and trust in each other advanced at a fair pace for the length of the story.
As I mentioned, I used to be a big fantasy reader, but it's been quite some time since I've picked up any books in the genre. Have they always been very violent - especially YA books? I'm not complaining; I really enjoyed the level of violence, which I think worked realistically with the setting and situation, I was just a little startled by it. Oh gosh, the happenings in the crystal ritual cave at the end were hair-raising. DeLuca knows how to give just enough without making the violence gratuitous.
A final note: I also think this book was worth reading for the epilogue alone, which was exciting and ended the story on an interesting note! It also made me hungry for more fantasy! Looks like I have to get back into the genre now... it's been too long!

The thing I like most about reading fantasy is that, for those few hours, I really feel gripped by another world. Like I've been dumped into an outrageous, yet fascinating land and get to explore without limitations. I first glimpsed Morrigan last fall, and I knew I wanted to read it immediately. I adore the girl on this cover, she's soft, yet fierce all at the same time. I love fantasy and magic, and of course a heroine's quest to find where she truly belongs. Morrigan has all that and more. It makes me think of the 90's TV show, Charmed, which I will unabashedly admit was one of my obsessions. In fact, Laura has truly filled this story to the brim with goodness! She has a fluid and fresh style of writing. It captures you and keeps you pushing through the pages at a great pace.
It is hard for me to find faults with a good fantasy story, and this book was no exception.
Laura makes it easy to loose yourself in this tale and these characters. Right away Morrigan was someone I could root for. She wants what a lot of other children want--to feel normal and accepted.
Tumbling through the foster system since she was a child, Morrigan feels like she is from another world entirely. Her two cats (I just love them by the way!) are her only friends and she also has some amazing abilities--which make it hard for her to keep a low profile.
Morrigan gets her wish fairly early on in the book and is whisked away into another realm. One full of all kinds of creatures and the answers she has always wanted. This realm is hers, where she belongs. But, that doesn't mean things go smoothly for her once she's there.
Morrigan must embark on a journey to save her mother and eventually the entire land from a great evil.
It is not just Laura's main characters that stand out. All of them have their place in this book and readers will definitely enjoy Morrigan's knight, Tiarn, immensely.

This is a story about family, love and finding a place to call home. It was a fun and exciting read. If you are into YA fantasy, you will definitely enjoy Morrigan!

Werewolves, witches, faeries, betrayals, romance, and an ending that had me anxious for more. Morrigan had it all and it was absolutely wonderful!
As in her other books, Laura DeLuca had flawless world building in this book. She created an amazing world of magic, along with deep characters. This is why she's one of my favorite authors. Her books, with their fantastic worlds and dynamic characters, are brilliant. And this book definitely lived up to that.
Morrigan was a great heroine. She was incredibly strong and always determined to do what was right. I got very annoyed with her during a moment near the end of the book when I wanted to throttle her. But, it wasn't nearly enough to keep me from liking her character. Overall, she was lovely.
Filtiarn was just amazing. He was a deep character who had a very dark past and is still haunted by it. He immediately comes off as a sympathetic character because, though we might not know what happened in his past yet, it was obvious that there were some noisy skeletons in his closet. And, that only grew when we find out what happened to him. He was easy to adore. So sweet, snarky, protective, and determined to redeem himself. I thought he was perfect.
The romance was emotionally intense. When these two fell, they fell hard. And, as I read the book, their feelings for each other were palpable. Very nicely done.
The plot was faced paced. I was totally hooked, anxious to find out what happened next. There is one hell of a betrayal in this book that creates a huge twist. I guessed at it earlier in the book, as there were hints that things weren't as they seemed. But, that didn't make the twist any less thrilling. And the ending was wonderful. While it tied of Morrigan and Filtiarn's story, it left a killer cliffhanger in the epilogue that had me desperate for a sequel. Please tell me there will be one soon, before I die of anxiety to find out what happens!
Morrigan was a brilliant YA paranormal romance! Ms. DeLuca, you've written another winner. Lovers of the genre, you definitely need to read this book.

This is the second book that I read by author Laura Deluca. I read Jessica previously and was enthralled by it. I was enchanted by Morrigan. I love the characters of Morrigan and Filtiarn. The world she weaves and the journey you are one simply delightful in ever sense. You can fully picture ever scene the characters are in. I love how she described the characters especially Filtiarn. This work is well written and flows beautifully. In the story, there is ups and downs and twists along the way. I am simply in love with this book and plan to re-read it time and time again, while her other book, Jessica left me haunted. There is no denying that this author is an up and rising star.

The only companions and friends she has is her two cats Danu and Dadga She dreamed of having a real family and also of her dark handsome stranger. She always felt like she never belong in the world she was in since she has powers that none possess. One day a woman she never met or knew tells her she needs help and that she is her mother. She in-tells that she is sending a guide to help her on her quest to rescue her mom. She then is thrust in a scary yet beautiful world that feels like home. She soon learns not everything is as is seems. Will she rescue her mom? At what cost to her? Will she find the family she always want or something she didn't bargain for? What of her haunting dark handsome stranger? Find out in this literary quest!!! I give this a 5 star read!! I highly enjoyed the journey and twists along the way. I am astounded at the ending!!! First let me start by saying I LOVE Goddess stories! Now that being said, this isn't your typical Goddess story. No what we have is even better! As a practicing Wiccan, I can tell you this story fell into my lap at the perfect time. Morrigan is a perfect tale of witchcraft, family, light and dark!
Morrigan was born, and abandoned, she is now a young lady and in foster care. She is a witch and has some pretty fabulous powers, telekinesis and fire being the two major ones. She also has an amazing talent for art. She's been dreaming of a man, who turns up and tells her he is taking her to her mother.
I won't go into any more detail other than to say that the world where her mother is, Tir Na Nog is war torn because the two opposing factors, the sister witches are feuding. One is a practitioner of the Dark Arts and the other is of the Light. Which sister is which is the mystery!
The characters in this story are strongly written. An enjoyment to read. And the story kept me turning the pages late into the night so I could find out what was going to happen. Yes the Author gives plenty of clues and yes I suspected who was good and who was evil from about 20% into the story, but that definitely didn't detract from the tale at all.
I highly recommend this 5 star book to anyone who enjoys a good versus evil tale, anyone who loves a little bit of romance, and anyone who loves witches and Goddess's. Yes the Goddess makes a few minor appearances in the book but only in name, not actually playing an active role in the story. But Morrigan was well named and I totally loved this book. It is a YA but any age can enjoy this wonderful tale!

I am ashamed to say that on my first attempt at reading 'Morrigan' I turned my Kindle off after the first two chapters. I felt that they were disjointed and I did not connect with the story or with Morrigan, who appeared selfish and rude. However, with my review due I tried again the next day and finished the book quickly!
Morrigan is a powerful fantasy story, featuring magic, romance, shapeshifting and family drama. Morrigan is pulled from the present world by a dreadlocked Lycan knight, through a gateway into the past, to rescue her mother an grandmother from the dungeons of the aunt's castle in the magical Tir na NOg. However, Morrigan and Tiarn's journey is fraught with danger and she has to rely on her magical powers, her cat guardians, who in this world surprise her by shifting into a panther and tiger, and Tiarn's fighting skills. Morrigan also receives warnings that there is information she must find out for herself when she reaches the castle, but she is too excited about the prospect of being reunited with her real mother - and the possibility of finding true love.
The world which Laura DeLuca creates in 'Morrigan' is pure fantasy and she allows her reader to become completely lost, although I feel that this is another story to which the fae added no positive impact. Morrigan and Tiarn's journey through the woods is described in detail, down to when Morrigan lies on the animal furs, which I was almost able to feel.
My favourite scenes were those in the castle. Laura DeLuca had imagined Hecate down to the last wrinkle and was able to bring her to the reader's mind perfectly.
The twist in the plot was not unexpected but still absorbing and the author knows how to draw her reader in. I am so glad that I gave this book a second chance and I hope that you will too!

Morrigan is a orphan (she thinks) and very unhappy, swapped between foster homes with most times not to nice foster parents. She is bullied in school, she knows she is special and not like others, because she does have special powers that she learned mostly to control. At her 17th year, she is hearing someone calling her name, one morning when she showered it is stronger then ever and a woman appears in the fog of her mirror. it appears to be her birth mothers who begs her to help and says she would send someone to bring her to her and to protect her,
The Minute Morrigan lays her eyes on Tiarn she knows it is him, she has been dreaming about him whole her life, and she drew him. She draws a lot and is good at it. She goes with Tairn without to must thinking and follows him into Tir na NOg another world completely full with witches, guardians, were wolves and Fae. A world with fresh air, green grass and so untouched still.
Along the travel to her mother, Morrigan has to fight her way there, meets Alden a old man that knew her dad and many more things, when she arrives the castle she helps setting her mother and grandmother free from the Evil Witch, her aunt........... BUT is she really??? something Morrigan quickly realizes that things are not what they seem, will she be on time to still set things right and to save her world......... go read for yourself .....
I Gave this book 4 stars, because somethings were repeated a few times as Morrigan refuses to see that a Lycan is dangerous once tranfered into a wolf, it is then a a predator that will attack you no matter what. to name one example, but besides all that a overall good book! I lliked it..

I’ve read books in most genres. Fantasy, sci-fi, historical, romance, textbooks…you name it. I must admit that before reading Laura DeLuca’s Morrigan I hadn’t read a YA book in decades, if ever. And I’m glad I did!
DeLuca weaves the teen angst and yearning for adulthood that we’ve all felt into the tale of Morrigan’s search for her identity and roots. For Morrigan the experience is different than it was for me, but that’s to be expected as I was never a teenaged girl! Early on, Morrigan tells the reader, “…the people around me seemed just as confused and even disturbed by me as I was by them.” This is the sentence that hooked me; the words might have been snatched from the deep past of my own teenage brain!
Morrigan, an abandoned child shuffled from one foster home to another, has finally found a place that feels more comfortable than any of the others have been…and is torn, quite willingly, away from it. Her journey through the land of Tír na NÓg expands her nascent powers and forces a maturation of her heart that remaining in our world would have prevented. The revelation of the fate of Morrigan’s mother was a particularly enjoyable part of the plot.
I’m pleased that my first review on All the Other Books is of a story that rates five stars. If you’re a fan of YA, this is a great book to add to your reading list. If you haven’t read YA in years…this is the perfect book to dive back into the genre with.

Morrigan, has never felt as if she belonged….anywhere. It was almost as if she belonged in another world….What comforts her is an inside belief she is destined for more, and also the reocurring dreams about a boy, that is literally the boy of her dreams! This disturbs and thrills her at the same time.. Morrigan, drifts through each day; staying under the radar, but if she does have her limits pushed, then there are major consquences. Soon her world turns updside down, and Morrigan discovers that her instincts about herself were correct…she isn’t from this world, that she is from a place of magic, and that she is actually not only a witch(powerful one at that:) But a princess, who is the key to saving her newfound home! And in the midst of saving her world, the boy of her dreams becomes a reality AND he’s a Lycan…Werewolf!
Really can it get any better than that?!
I really loved this book, it had a medieval, fairytale quality that I was drawn to; I enjoyed seeing the feisty Morrigan discover bit by bit who she was, and what her purpose was; it was fantastic to see the rough, tough Lycan, Tiarn unfold, and embrace his feelings for Morrigan! This book was full of passion, magic and romance…a grand, epic adventure that is really a rarity these days…
I fully recommend this book, whether you love action and adventure or if you are a grand romantic…it has something for everyone!:O)

May 9, 2013I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book that I have read by Laura DeLuca and I really enjoyed it. It was really cool because it was about the Goddess' and witchcraft. I loved the world of Tir na Nog that Laura DeLuca created. I loved how it had a renaissance feel but was also mixed with fantasy and paranormal elements. It included all of my favourite creatures; werewolves, fairies, witches and lots more. I also enjoyed all of the mysteries in the story and how the author went about unravelling those mysteries.
I enjoyed reading Morrigan's story, following her from a place were she never fit it to finding her one true spot in the world where she belongs. I'm also super happy with the side of good or evil that she chose in the end. Filtiarn was a great balance to Morrigan's character, they complemented each other. I wasn't a fan of their insta- love but I gave it a pass because they were soul-mates. I also found him to be very brave. He had to do things that made him look like the bad guy, but only because he was playing both sides for the greater good.
Overall, this was a great book with a fresh idea. It kept me interested throughout. I will be reading more by Laura DeLuca in the future because I enjoy her writing style. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy fantasy and paranormal stories.

If you're a fan of YA and fantasy, this is a book for you. I'm not usually a huge fan of fantasy, but I really enjoyed this book. Would be perfect for fans of books like The Mortal Instruments and The Immortals.
The story follows Morrigan. She was orphaned basically at birth and has spent the past 17 years jumping from foster home to foster home. We find out that she has all sorts of special powers and can manipulate the elements, mainly fire. She has two trusty sidekicks in the form of two cats.. which we later find out are her guardians and can do some pretty fantastic stuff. Morrigan goes on a scary and emotional journey to help her mother and restore peace to her homeland. We meet werewolves and witches a long the way. Learn a little about magic... a little love interest.
There is a very good twist to this story that keeps you turning the pages. Nothing is as it seems. I have to say that this story has an absolutely wonderful ending. I loved it.
Laura has a very good talent for describing every element of the story. Makes you feel as if you are there and you don't have to strain your brain too much trying to visualize the world that Morrigan has found herself in.

I had a pleasure to read this awesome story, Once I started it I could not put it down i had to know what happen next. Every since Morrigan was little she has been in so many different foster homes, no one would want her because people thought she was a freak even at school, Morrigan is a witch she has powers, Soon she meets her real mother and the place where she was born, Morrigan didn't know she was a princess tell now, She meets a lycan name Tiarn who brings her home, soon she realize she loves him and at first he doesn't think its a good idea but then soon he realize he can't be away from her. Morrigan sees soon how her mother really is, and she finds out who really killed her father. I would read this book over and over again. I could go on about this awesome book, but i do not won't to ruin it for you. If you have not read this book you need to.

This was an amazing book. It is filled with Celtic lore with its own unique twist. There are witches, werewolves, and faeries as well as some original mythical creatures like Guardians and Gatekeepers. Morrigan's journey is wrought with danger at every turn making it an epic fantasy that even LOTR fans will appreciate. It features mega strong female characters that are a great example for teen girls, yet the story will appeal to people of all ages. The climax was the most amazing part of all. It features a battle of the elements unlike anything I have ever read. It would be fantastic as a movie!! Just sayin...And the last chapter will leaves you satisfied but with a glimmer of hope that there might be more to come.

Morrigan by Laura DeLuca is an enchanting, fun, and emotional book. I loved it and will gladly go looking for more of the author’s books! It’s a truly original take on witches, werewolves, fairytales, and young love. Though it sounds like it would be paranormal, it’s actually much more of a fantasy that any fairytale fan would enjoy. There were only a couple minor flaws. I felt that the pacing kind of dragged in a few scenes but it's mostly due to repetitive descriptions. My eyes kind of glazed over those parts until we got back into the action, but it really wasn’t too bad. I caught a few very minor editing mistakes too. But overall, it’s very well-written. Loved the way everything wrapped up at the end (with that twist in the epilogue! Goodness!). I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

This is my first time reading one of Laura Deluca's books and i must say I enjoy ever detail she told in Morrigan. I can picture everything she describe in the book and loved every Character. Morrigan was passed around to different foster homes till one day a dark knight name Filtiarn comes to bring her back home to help save her mother. On her Journey she finds out who she is and finds out things she didn't expected at all. You also find out things about Filtiarn as well and a forbidden love between the two. I laughed, smile, cry and even shocked while reading this book. Will she be with the one she loves in the end of it all? Will she save her mother? Go get your copy and find out for yourself.

Morrigan had been in a lot of homes, she was used to people calling her odd or different because she was just that. She didn’t expect people to like her, so she was never disappointed when things didn’t work out. She didn’t have much, but she had her two cats, her sketchpad, and she had her powers. And….she was about to find out she had a completely other life to be lived.
I felt this story was written so I was right there with the characters, feeling their emotions, and balling my fists while they fought. I loved that about this book. When you can get lost in a story as I did, that makes a book magical, and Ms. DeLuca achieved that. I recommend this book to anyone, it is a book not to be missed. As a Wiccan and a lover of all things Celtic I jumped at the thought of getting my hands on a copy of this book, and I am so glad I did! Morrigan is written with such depth and passionate world building that I was blown away, page by page.
Between weres, faeries, witches, and the story itself I was riveted from the very beginning. I just love Filtiarn! The romance was sweet yet so intense that you couldn’t help but fall with them.
The story is face paced, interesting and creative, and while it touches mythology regularly, it’s not just a twisting of old tales. This is a great YA paranormal, and as some of my favourites PNRs are apt to do, Ms. DeLuca leaves us desperate for the next story. If you love fantasy, paranormal, and love, then this is a MUST Read!

This is a great YA paranormal, and as some of my favourites PNRs are apt to do, Ms. DeLuca leaves us desperate for the next story. If you love fantasy, paranormal, and love, then this is a MUST Read!

I was instantly drawn into this story by Morrigan. You can't help but want her to be successful. She is a caring and powerful witch trying to get by in a world that neither understands her or accepts her. Her courage is clear from the beginning.
The story takes several turns that keep the reader wanting to know what happens next. At first it seems as though the ending is predictable but don't be so sure with this book. I was surprised even up to the last page. Wonderful story and I look forward to reading more of DeLuca's stories.

Morrigan was captivating straight from the start. This story has it all; drama, romance and so much more. Laura DeLuca really caught me by surprise with her details, it was as if the story came alive right in front of me. I loved the whole Renaissance feel of Morrigan. I really hope she plans to write more off of this one, I would be sure to read it.
Morrigan has lived her life in different foster homes, never feeling as if she fit in any where. That all changed the day her birth mother sends for her and has her brought to Tir Na Nog. However, Morrigan soon learns things are not as they seem. With Tiarn by her side she has the strength to fight what ever battles comes her way.

Again Laura DeLuca has knocked the ball out of the park with a story of intrigue,suspense and a lesson to learn. A magical tale of love and trust lost through prejudice and greed. Morrigan and Filtiarn are not unlike many young people of mixed heritage. Morrigan from birth learned the ugly reality of being different and Tiarn also lived with the prejudice that also existed in the magical world. Laura made the adversities they faced factually real while keeping the magical fiction compelling and intriguing. A MUST READ!!!!
