Er...

I hate to admit this, but I didn't like this one. It was boring and silly. I skipped a lot of it. I was trying to get to the fun important, not so silly parts. Never happened. I am not trying to discourage anyone from reading this one, its just my opinion. I really wish I could get my money back. This was a dud.

Katy Mae moves to Kansas....

...and became Mrs. Katherine Barbens who brought along Ms. Cooch Montgomery. Adriano had a difficult!t childhood when his father went to prison and was abandoned by his mother. Aunt Sue was the closest he had to a mother when she adopted him and became foster parents to other children. She gave him a normal family life and he spent his entire life in survival mode until he laid eyes on Katy Mae in New York City.

Katy Mae was kind of tricked into going to the matchmaker but once there she was all in. When she and Adriano officially met in her mountain home, they unexpectedly found themselves in a predicament that her shine margarita got them into.

They both had adjustments to make being married. Adriano had his ideas and Katy had hers. Katy helped to bring the husband out of Adriano by the hardest. He had to deal with issues from his past that shook him for a beat, but Katy's father shook him out of his breakdown. He realized that he would be nothing without Katy. She brought a new perspective to his life and he loved her for it.

This story was a bit different from other Olivia books. I'm not sure if I like this one. It had its usual comic relief and serious topics. There is just something about the characters I can't relate to. Their story is well-plotted and executed. I just can not relate to them. They were so different from each other. Katy Mae being a mountain country girl used to saying whatever wisdom came to her mind and Adriano was always on guard being cold and expressionless and used to hard work whether it was in the office or on the farm. I guess opposites attract for the better in this story. They got their HEA and healing of Adriano's heart too.

Gael and Katherine made a good life together!

See if the world would imitate art, this planet would be housing healthy loving and lovable people! Gael had a real scrappy start from I suspect the age of ten or so when he happened upon Aunt Sue a woman herself beaten down by life and on the verge of being destitute. The pat Aunt Sue and Gael made to support each other birthed an income stream with her being a foster mother. The core group of Aunt Sue's brood were loved and well cared for. Each one each grew up to be successful in their respective right!! Katherine aka Katy Mae born and bred in he Tennessee mountains to a hillbilly culture that saw them educated, self sufficient and thanks to her oldest brother millionaires(unlike any hillbillies I have been aware of). I like Katy Mae's homespun wisdom and humor and her ride or die attitude! I laughed a lot reading Gael and Katherine's story. I was surprised to find Mountain folk so accepting of Black folk especially becoming a part of their family!!!! If I remember correctly Beau husband to Khloe starred in The Tennessee Mountain man and Katherine is his younger sister!!! I love your Mail Order Bride Stories very much! I love them even more when I see family blood or not rallying around the family member who needs them when things go sideways and/or they just need the family to show up for them!!! You Mrs. Olivia Gaines are an excellent weaver of great great stories. Thank you!!!!

Love always wins

True love is not always hot and fast...true love is steady and quick and even. That is what sustained Adriano with a piece of **** as a sperm donor and a crap of **** for a mother through Aunt Sue. Aunt Sue sustained him and that is how he lived his life. But when Katy Mae came along, he needed to be kicked into high gear and that is exactly who he married when Katy Mae became Katherine..another gear. Sometimes going into another gear requires parts to be replaced and sometimes the entire machine needs to be overhauled.

Albus was a strong man...and was made stronger by his love of his wife and the teachings to his children..Albus saw Adriano as a man but knew he needed a father figure to help him straighten up.

This was ahardvread for me not because of Adriano but because 9f Katy Mae...she came on too strong out the gate...she really did not take in her mother's advice until more than halfway through the book...sometime being the soft spot for a man to fall is better than reminding him that Ms. Cootie Montgomery is there...ijs

Love the series and soooo looking forward to the next book!!!,

Absolutely beautiful

This is a uniquely and awesome series! Each story is a part that makes a awesome whole. This is such a exciting series that brings romance and a huge smile to your heart, The characters are awesome and their passion burns up the pages with their chemistry which is sizzling hot. The heroine is a independent woman and that makes you feel happy for her and her relationship. This series is such a pleasurable experience that you will definitely enjoy. It's such a believable series and this is a great story that's a complete read. It's what happens when a couple meet and they fall in love each other, the chemistry between them is so awesome that it turns into the love of their lives. I really enjoy this series. Because even the secondary characters are extraordinary because the story is written with such imagination that it makes this story into a beautiful series to read. It's definitely FIVE STARS! I would give it more if possible.

Humor with Pearls of Wisdom

This story has the classic ingredients of an Olivia Gains tale, laugh out loud funnies and clear assessment of human character. Enjoyable from start to finish. Gael had lived a survivalist lifestyle for almost his entire life then add a mountain girl's love in the mix and bam rock his axis! The secondary characters enhance the story. Gael reminded me of town folk in the classic Pleasantville where life is black, white, and gray...Add in the splash of color otherwise known as Katie Mae and suddenly you are introduced to color and life!! Gael literally had to reboot himself or else lose his key to a world of smiles, laughter, and realizing that he mattered. Well done Ms. Gains!!!

Awesome book!

I really enjoyed this story and the characters were really entertaining. I loved the chemistry between Gael and Katy Mae it was intense and smoking hot 🔥. Ms Gaines you have another winner on your hands. I laughed and could not put this book down. Gael's mother was a true piece of work and there are no words for his father Tamal. Katy Mae was hilarious, with all her metaphors they were country and funny but in a country down home way they made sense. I can't wait for the next one in the series. I highly recommend this book to my fellow romance readers you will not be disappointed with this book.

Another wonderful "Moderna Mail Order Bride" saga

Good story, Adriano was a seriously complex man with a pretty tragic back story until he meets Aunt Sue. Katy Mae was a straight shooter and only demanded the best . I love how she didn't compromise and was the wife that Adriano came to realize he couldn't live without.
The colorful cast of characters rounds out the story, I am going to go back and re-read "Tennessee Mountain Man" again where you are introduced to Katy Mae's family.

A lovely story’

The male character took the lead in this 14th book of the series… lacking a lot of details about his character and life in the beginning, which unfolded throughout the book, even up to the end. Not sure if I liked that necessarily, but it was nice learning more about the lead female…a sibling of one of the male characters from a previous installment in the series. I love this series and this is a great addition!

Enjoyable

I do like this series. It took me a while to realize that Adriano was one of the 4 ‘black’ men on the computer for Symphony in the previous book as was McAllister. I love making the links in the stories no matter how tenuous. The different families and their array of characters were amusing. I liked Aunt Sue and Adriano’s relationship. It was very moving. Katy was a hoot.

As usual, another excellent story by Olivia Gaines. In each of the novel in the (Modern Mail Order Brides) series she keeps you laughing and crying with her unique dialogue. Such a wonderful writer. You don't want to put the book down for a second encase you might miss something. Another excellent story, I can't wait for the next one.

🥰😎🥰

This one has to be the most thought provoking one I have read this far (mail order bride) !!! I would love to answer/discuss the book club questions. But, I cannot here without giving away spoilers.
All of the characters were quite interesting and well developed. I look forward to hearing from this family again... 🥰

Appreciating where you come from.

Adriano had a rough life at an early age but along comes Aunt Sue to give him what he needed and more. The two of them needed each other soon that life could be better. Katy Mae is a breath of fresh air and her life is good because she chose well.

Loved It

As usual Olivia you did not disappoint. I loved how Katy Mae bought out the real Adriano Barbens. She was able to make him face his demons and enjoy life and appreciate the family that he was given. He finally accepted love and saw he was worthy thanks to Katy Mae, the girl from the backwoods who knew more than you thought. Highly recommended.

Adriano and Katherine...

Well, this wasn't my favorite of the MOB novels, and it ranks really low as a matter of fact.

I don't have any favorite parts, but I finished the book, so it gets 3.5 stars.

Excellent as usual

This was excellent as usual. Funny, approaching serious subject matters and make you love the story. Ms. Gaines weaves stories that you always come back to. I've read the Tennessee story so often I was happy Kathleen got hers.

Katy Mae aka Katherine

This mail order bride is hysterically funny and cute to boot. This story is beautiful and sad and warm and kind and tender with soul saving love and the definition of what makes us family

Sadly Predictable and Boring

Way to short and so predictable. It lacked character development. Whatever formula you are using to turn out novels in this series, please cut it out. The actual match maker's origin might be more interesting than any of your other predictable characters. UR beginning to bore me Olivia, so please cut it out right now. Cleanse your writer's palate and push the refresh button sooner than later.

Loved it!

I love these stories. The characters had chemistry that was believable. I love the way she has cameos of characters from other books in the series. The lesson is never judge a book by its cover. Go deeper and might find treasure!

It took me a minute to remember Katey Mae from her brother's story which was book #8. Wasn't overly funny like the previous books but I still enjoyed it.

The cover is misleading. Isn't Katie Mae "blond hair and blue-eyed"?
