If you want a good book for a witchy teen, read Gwinevere Rain's "SpellCraft for Teens". The author wrote this book while she was still a teenager, so it is more likely to 'click' with a teen who receives it. Ms. Rain has her own FB page at: https://www.facebook.com/GwinevereRain
This book is packed with information, step-by-step guide to following the Wiccan path, 55 incantations and chants, the magical properties of herbs, charms, and colors, Moon magic, and much, much more.
I especially appreciated the chapter on magical ethics, and the fact that she tackles difficult issues such as coming out as a witch, and dealing with problems with classmates.
The chapter on ethics alone makes the book worthwhile. This book is way, way better than Silver Ravenwolf's "Teen Witch". Yeah, Gwinevere Rain, a teenager, thought to write on ethics. Why didn't you, Silver?
I loved this book. It had a lot of great information about the tradition and is great for beginners. I REALY liked the spells she put in and a lot of them worked for me and my friends. Because of this book many of them are thinking of joining the tradition.
