This read was a little different than what I normally expect from Ms. Grant, but still enjoyable. That damn Onyx family was beyond horrible and deserved everything they got! 😤 Seiko damn! She is like the egg donor who rose from the pits of hell to make her daughter’s life miserable. How could one hate their child that much? Ughhhh… 🤬
Imani accepting that interior design job with Gia, shook up both their lives in ways they couldn’t have imagined. The secrets that were revealed, the lies, deceit, and manipulation was crazy. 👀 If you are a fan of Ms. Grant's work check this one out, you won’t be disappointed.
This story was filled with sick and twisted characters that you couldn't help but hate. When women help prey on young girls you want their fate to be worse than the men who abused them. I hated the subject but beautiful romances evolved in the end. This story definitely kept me on my toes and was an engaging read. More editing is needed but this was a signature OG read with a different type of horror.
This story focused on a young woman by the name of Imani. After being hired for an interior design job, her world and those around her would be changed forever. The story had really good interesting characters, a good plot and moved well. It wrapped up rather quickly but the ending did seem fitting for all involved. It does touch on some heavy topics, but they were all handled very well.
Great Read. Gia thinks the world revolves around her so much that she doesn't care who gets hurt or taken advantage of in the process. Imani was a successful woman in her own right who was manipulated for years by her mother. Seiko Gias mother should be psycho. Everything Imani thought she knew about about her life crumbling after one incident. There were a lot of events in this story that surrounded 3 families 1 family loses everything, 1 family gains everything, and the other bonds are severed. I truly enjoyed reading Imani. Octavia Grant has not failed yet to keep me intrigued in her books.
I love a story when everyone gets what they deserve. Gia and her family were horrible, causing heartache and stress to others strictly out of boredom. KJ and Jared got their woman in the end, and I loved that for them.
Anita and Ray were some freaks. That’s all I’ma say. 🤫🫢🤣
This book kept my attention from the first page. There was some unexpected twist and turns that kept me intrigued as to what was coming next. I would recommend this book.
