FULL DISCLOSURE: I worked with Luann many, many years ago and we recently re-connected on Facebook. When I heard about "Twisting Time" I bought a copy. The chief pleasure of this novel is its unique story. Luann gleefully, and successfully, mashes up Cold War Spy Thriller, Science Fiction and R-rated romance. By the time I got to the last fifteen pages or so, I was racing to see how this story turned out. The prose is straight-forward with an occasional pretty turn of phrase or insightful metaphor/simile. The female protagonist is particularly well-written. If I had one criticism of the book, its in the long sex scenes. As a gay man, I have little or no interest in sweet heterosexual lovemaking. However - and this is a compliment - those scenes never made me laugh or cringe. This is the kind of thing I'd love to see turned into one of those limited-series TV shows!

I enjoyed the love story in this book. The fact that there was SciFi made it more fun. The imagery is great. You can tell research went into some of the ideas of items from the future and it made it a more interesting story than just your typical romance.
