One, two, monsters are hunting you Three, four, can’t lock your doors Five, six, send you to the River Styx Seven, eight, better stay up late. Nine, ten, you’ll never rest again
For the last seventy years, spending my life as an assassin made sense. The goddesses of retribution and justice would give me the name of an immortal, and then I would annihilate them. They raised me to kill or die, and it was an easy choice.
I killed without mercy. I killed without thought. I kill as I’m told.
One cold afternoon, they sent me to retrieve an ancient artifact from an auction. Stealing the artifact would have been easier if a deceitful fox shifter hadn’t sung me a song about my inevitable death. I couldn’t escape the bounty placed on my head. For the first time, I disobeyed orders and ran.
By the time I realized my mistake, the artifact was gone, stolen by a hound I never thought I’d meet—Cerberus.
He shifts into a they, and they want me for reasons that have nothing to do with that artifact and everything to do with fate. It doesn’t matter how much I want or accept them, because I sold my soul centuries ago and I have nothing to give them aside from my heart, which will never be enough.
If love can’t save me from my imminent death, I don’t know what will. *** Welcome to the Fated Universe, where each series focuses on a different set of fated mates. By the end of each series, each couple will have their happily ever after. Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance.
Not every loose end will be resolved in each universe at the end of each series. Some secrets will span across additional series but will in no way take away from the individual stories. You can still read each series out of order, but the suggested reading order is as follows:
Elle Lincoln has been writing out her dreams and even nightmares for over a decade. She believes in magic in all forms, and oftentimes you’ll find her daydreaming in the oddest of places. Her passion is Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance, where the men are a little bit real and a dash of mythical.
When Elle isn’t writing she’s probably chasing around her four children, child-like husband, and a rambunctious Australian Shepherd. All who keep her on her toes. Nice try with the distractions, but mommy still got those books written and published. She resides in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania with lore and legends, and a whole lot of cornfields.
I don't know if it's her writing style or what but Elle never ceases to amaze me and make me laugh. This book is no different!
If you've read Fated Souls series then you're already familiar with the FMC. You're also familiar with some of the secondary characters. The world is the same as it is a spinoff. This book doesn't let you down with twists and turns and unexpected events.
The FMC is a rare female wolf shifter. She spent the last 20 years or so as an assassin for two not so nice goddesses. Normally that would be fine until you find yourself on their bad side and on the run for your life. oh and you irritated another goddess by trying to steal something that she wanted. And you run into Cerberus who just happens to be one heck of a surprise and your fated mate.
Omg Kendall story was amazing. I couldn't put this book down. Cerberus omg Barrett, Seth and Cael are perfect. This world just keeps getting intertwined and so many twist. I loved every minute of this book I can't wait for more.
i don’t think i can say this enough but i love Elle Lincoln. i love the entire universe she’s created that Cerberus falls into. oh, and i love Cerberus (Seth, Cael, and Barrett) and Kendall.
I’ve read every book the the Fated universe. Each series focuses on a different set of fated mates. at the end of every series, each couple will have their HEA but not every loose end will be resolved. I love how interconnected each series is in this universe! You can read each series out of order but the suggested order (and how i read it) is: Fated Souls (surrender, submission, seduction, salvation) then Fated Sights (visions, vicious, vanquish, vengeance) then Cerberus (stand alone). (the next series, A Magical Fate, releases Oct ‘22).
We meet Cerberus in the fated sights series and Kendall in the Fated Souls series. I instantly knew i loved Kendall and how badass mysterious she was. it was so great learning her backstory here and getting her fated story! the guys, they’re amazing and i love them. they’re all so distinctly different but go together perfectly. oh, and they’re brothers. with the same fated mate. i’d take Kendall’s place and be a part of that harem anyway. I really loved this book!
This universe heavily includes greek mythology and is pnr. i highly recommend it!!
Didn’t get far enough in to honestly rate. immmm lost 😫😭😵💫
Nope, can’t do it. Despite the fact that this book starts with a new character, and a new plot.
IT CAN NOT BE READ AS A STAND-ALONE.
There are clearly incomplete references from other books, assumed knowledge on the authors part…and this doesn’t factor in the writings style. 😳
They like to start a page-chapter-moment, in the middle, leaving you guessing and trying to catch up. About 3-5 paragraphs in, they will start to drop info so you know where you are, and maybe enough to figure out why. 😤😖
I spent more time going back over things trying to figure it out, and then readjusting each time the appropriate info was dropped. 🤯
Some parts never made sense, and I think some were completely wrong [notice I say think..🤣😂 I was SO confused].
[And those characters 😳 one of the MMC’s was written like a kid swinging between 8 & 16, soo not a sexual fantasy candidate.]
Did not enjoy myself. I’m out, and I doubt I will read the first books in order to continue.
This is an acquired taste, kinda style. 🥸 Luck to those who enjoy.
Such a fantastic story. I loved reading about Kendall. The thought of Cerberus as triplets was a fantastic idea. I seriously loved entire story. I can’t decide which triplet I liked more. Cael did have me laugh out loud a couple times. This is a steamy story which just added to the amazing storyline. The ending was the best. I so wish we can see these characters later in another story. Would love to read more about them. Definitely recommend reading. I loved it.
This book was so good. The story was really good. The characters were so funny. This is a must read. I know its stand-alone but I could use more . Great job Elle!
This was fun, I enjoyed it. It appears this may be set in an established world of the author, and I do think I might've enjoyed it significantly more if I had read anything else in it.
I felt like I was missing something in this book. Its the start of a series but it doesn't really read like it is. The characters are all incredibly annoying and just over the top. Some of them seem childish. The fmc is rather annoying and just unlikable.
Seriously, if you've been following along with the books in this world, I'm sure you've questioned multiple times how Lincoln is even able to keep up with all of this world building, plot mapping, and overlapping storylines within this massively complicated group of characters. I don't know how she does it, but I applaud her for doing such a phenomenal job with it. There's always so much going on, and what I've learned from reading the books in this world is that If you think you've figured everything out, that is a lie. There is ALWAYS something else at play, moves being made, and things yet to be revealed. Some things are never as they seem or some can be so blatantly obvious that you question yourself on whether it was too easy to figure out and immediately go off on a tangent to figure out another possible option to what is going on. It's never a dull moment while reading these books and they will for sure keep you on your toes.
One thing I like to think about while reading these books is: is it fate or is it Artemis up to her games again? I swear, this woman should be some type of trickster god with the way she manipulates people to get the outcome she desires. She started this game of chess and is winning, but she isn't just moving the chess pieces around. She's the creator of the game and people are just now beginning to realize it. Her and Alan have some explaining to do because there is a lot more going on than we have found out so far. Little by little pieces are being given to us to try and understand the complexity of their plans and every decision they have made in advance to put everyone on the correct path that they need to be on. Some routes aren't easy, but that's tough love for you.
After meeting Cerberus in Vanessa's story, I was very excited to see if the trio would get a story of their own. I wasn't expecting to get their story so soon and was quite surprised to see Kendall be at the center of it. When thinking of Kendall, I wasn't sure how I would feel when it was time for her to get her own story because of how stand off and devoid of emotions she was. However, I was amazed at how the triplets were able to crack open her hard shell. We saw a real, genuine side to Kendall in this book underneath her well kept facade. It was nice to see that there was more to her character and a reason for the way she was besides the small glimpses we got in Sabina and Vanessa's books.
This book is absolutely amazing! Honestly I don't know how to write this review without giving away the entire book. If you consume everything Elle writes because she is a goddess and writes the most amazing books then you are already familiar with the triplets known as Cerbrus. We knew they were going to be chaotically funny, but, BUT, we were not prepared the amazing differences and the stunning references made by all three boys. All three boys are so unique and totally different personalities I struggle to imagine how they got along so well for so long as a single entity. Cael is young at heart and the puppy dog we wish we had but he knows how to be serious. Berrett is loving and supportive with just a touch of naughty. Seth is reluctant to participate in the mating at first but once he warms up.....oh boy does he warm up. Now lets talk about our leading lady ... Kendall. We have met Kendall in previous books and you get an idea of who she is and what she is about. What you don't learn is the hurt little girl she tries to smoother on the inside and it brings so much more to her character. I was never a huge fan of Kendall before this book, I didn't think she had a lot of dimensions, I was wrong. The woman just has an amazing poker face and rbf. Now I know what were all worried about going into this book, Elle is known, and I do mean known, for leaving us on insane cliff hangers that leave us chomping at the bit for more, but, you may think to yourself, this is a stand-alone story. Surely she didn't leave another cliffhanger. To which I reply, remember that cute little novella that was just a check in to a completed series and was not the continuation of another series? Remember how that also had a cliffhanger. Never, and I do mean NEVER, under estimate Elle. She will find a way. I will say this one is not bad and overall more sets up other characters and books. But it does leave us with many questions unanswered. Questions I can't ask here because of spoilers and you know whatever is going on with Pepper.
Hats off to you Elle and another fantastic book. You have successfully fed this addict for another....., whens my next hit?
This truly was a book I read everywhere I went. Strong characters, but we see many facets to their personalities. The bad guys are revealed, and Kendall finally gets, well, I can’t tell you. She gets her heart’s desire(s) and to grow outside of her role as an assassin to the gods. She meets the three person Cerberus, and twists and turns crowd their way forward. This is set in the Fated Souls universe, though you don’t need to have read Sabina and Vanessa’s stories, it is nice to see them again. This book is set just before the last book in Vanessa’s story (Fated Sight). Truly engaging, well rounded characters, funny, strong emotions are invoked by this author. Her trigger warnings are pretty well descriptive, though I personally wasn’t triggered, just felt sad for our main characters, or fell a bit in love with them. This author writes wonderful stories, read all her work! Seriously, every book I’ve read has been excellent.
I don't tend to give 5* lightly but this was an entertaining read, feel like I've been taken on a journey and didn't once ask "are we there yet"
I'm ever sceptical about reading about gods and goddesses as it tends to turn into an information dump from someone's thesis. This didn't take this route it gave them personalities that were not a bore. What really worked for me was that our heroin is strong but doesn't have a chip on her shoulder. We see a strong but vulnerable woman and her character really shines through. But seriously girl shower lol
My favourite character is Cael, he is just endearing in a psychotic yet innocent way.
From the start this book was packed with humor and action I promise that you will not be disappointed. I will not be dropping any spoilers but let me tell you that the humor and comedy of this book is contagious Cael is absolutely my favorite brother though I do love all 3 of them but he is the one for me Then there is Kendall she is a bad-ass Lyacn assassin shifter She plays no games when it comes to whats hers she is my kind of woman. Honestly I was captivated from the beginning all the way to the end was never a dull moment or disappointment, EL knows how to capture the audience and in this book she definitely captured the audience I can't wait to see who's story is next.
This was a really interested read and I enjoyed the premise. Cerberus as three sexy men?! Heck yes. The spice wasn’t exactly as high as I expected, but I did enjoy the book all in all. The MMC’s make me smile and laugh. I was left guessing how the story was going to play out until the very end. I love that there are so many other stories from this world and definitely admire the authors ability to keep track of all the players. I might need to check out some of the other series :)
Started great but ended disappointing. Most of the plot didn’t make much sense and by the time you get to the climax it felt like the revealed mysteries were overly cryptic for no reason the whole time. Like the author made the plot more mysterious just by being confusing. Then let’s be honest, the gang band should have been a part of the climax, not the epilogue. It was just like an afterthought, like oh yea we have three MLs, let’s have them all fuck now like that wasn’t what we were all waiting for…
Kendall’s story is action packed, hilarious, angsty, and heartbreaking.
If you’ve read Sabina’s story, you know that Kendall is Kade’s sister. Life handed her a pretty crappy hand and that led to some questionable decisions and a hardened woman.
But Kendall’s story shows us she is so much more than her past. I absolutely loved the outcome of this book and her relationship with Cerberus.
Don’t expect too much spice because this book is action and plot packed.
I loved it. I have enjoyed all the books in this world and it was awesome reading Kendall's story. The guys were pretty cool. It was funny but at the same time very serious. I felt like a few things could've been explained better especially the background of the guys but other than that no complaints. I received an ARC and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This puts a unique twist on cerberus. Kendall and the triplets have an entertaining story. I enjoyed the humor and the unique personalities. The interactions had a bit of steam to them and overall were incredible.
Goodreads doesn't show this book as being part of a series, but I'm guessing I should have read some of the author's other books first. Clearly I missed something. I'm not completely sure what was going on. I did like the characters.
What a refreshingly unique story. An assassin bound to two cruel goddesses. A task, a bounty and three males that end up being not only her fated mated but Cerberus. Lots and lots of blood, popped heads a smart goat. A fast paced good book.
I loved reading Kendall’s story. I loved her three guys. The three brothers that shift into Cerberus are so fun and unique. Their relationship with Kendell was fun to read. I love that there was humor and angst. Great story
