In my world, being a beautiful woman gets you put in a cage.
There is no hope on Earth. Being a woman who is beautiful is dangerous. Because you’ll end up like me. Put in a cage and traded as a commodity for food and water.
Into this comes my savior – an orc named Harok. He raids the outpost I’m held at. Slays all the humans who imprisoned me.
And takes me for himself.
I don’t know about the state of orcs and humanity. I can’t say that I really care if they’ve come through the portal and destroyed our civilization, to be honest. Because I can only think of one thing.
How he came into my cage. Lifted me over his shoulder like I weighed nothing. Liberated me and took me in his arms.
Harok the Great won more than my body that day when he rescued me from the humans who had treated me so cruelly.
He won my heart. Forever.
And now I just have one mission that matters to me in life.
How do I win his?
Author's Note: Orc's Queen is a full length monster romance that features a giant Orc with eyes for his beloved, curvy, human. Action and adventure abound as well as steamy scenes between the tiny human and giant Orc. HEA guaranteed.
Celeste King is the author behind the Worlds of Protheka, a collection of interconnected series that promise dark fantasy, intense romance, and washboard abs. When it comes to her stories, there are sure to brooding alphas, sassy humans, and plenty of spice to look forward to.
With the ever growing fantasy worlds, the 'what ifs' are endless, and that is what excites her the most. Even she doesn't know just how far these characters will go, but she's gladly along for the ride.
You can always find her fearlessly diving into an adventure (in this world or another), typically with her husband, and partner in crime, at her side.
She helps keep the excitement alive for the rest us with each of her Prothekan works, where there are no heroes coming to save you and being kidnapped...isn't so bad when your captor is this hot.
Women are treated poorly by humanity, especially attractive females who are imprisoned in a cage and used in trade for food or whatever resources the men are willing to bargain for. When the Orc chieftain of The Thunder Strike Clan, Harok, attacks the outpost, he frees Geneva, who is nothing but skin and bones, as well as the other women being held. His people take them to safety. She asks his name and thanks him. With his vision of one day having humans and orcs working together for the greater good, there may still be hope for humanity one day. But it won’t be easy getting there.
When Geneva hears two women talking about Orcs fighting on top of the mountain, and one of them thrown off the mountain to land at their feet, she demands to know where this occurred. When she arrives, the half-dead Orc is Harok, badly wounded and having been betrayed to another Orc group by one of his own. She gets him shakily to his feet and takes him to a deserted cabin to treat his wounds. She comes back to the cabin every evening to care for him, covers his unconscious shivering body when he can’t get warm, and after 5 days, even hunts for meat to give him strength. He was so worried about her being late that he dragged himself from the bed and across the floor, but she was just approaching with a deer over her shoulder. Odd feelings he has never had before flood him. He is actually in awe of her. And as his desire to protect her increases, he believes she could be his mate. Will they survive to find out? Will he be able to uncover the treachery in his clan?
I really do like the Orc series of stories. Despite their outwardly fierce appearance and aggressive nature, we see kindness, understanding, and compassion. Geneva and Harok both want to do what is right for the people in their lives. They are a perfect match. I highly recommend this series for the action-packed stories and the relationships that develop when each sees something that calls to them in the other.
Geneva hates the way women have been treated since the orc invasion. If you are pretty you are property to be sold as a sex toy. To protect her younger sister, Geneva agrees to be bartered to a local settlement. The men there abuse women and use them for breeding and pleasure. She has been kept in a cage and starved. She has no hope until the orcs invade the settlement. The orcs rescue the women and take them to the protective settlement they have set up. Geneva is so happy to be rescued that she doesn't cower from Harok the orc leader. She is grateful for his actions. Weeks later when she hears about a possibly injured orc, she goes to investigate. She finds Harok badly hurt after being betrayed by someone in his tribe. She nurses him back to health and they two start to have feelings for each other.
Harok is the new leader to his tribe after his father was murdered. Harok wants to be more open like the neighboring orc tribe who has merged with some humans. This merge has allowed the tribe to prosper. However the traditional elders won't even think about changing their ways. Harok tries to do things sneakily. He gets supplies from the neighboring tribe and helps them invade human settlements where human women are abused. On one raid he meets Geneva and her courage and willingness to talk to him makes her hard to forget. When she saves him from dying, he is determined to make her his queen.
Herok the Great might have earned his name in battle, when it comes to Geneva, he's a gentle giant. Freeing her from slavery, he leaves her at a safe location, even though he wants to keep her. But it isn't long before Geneva gets to return the favor and saves HIM!
I loved how tough Geneva was, while still remaining kind and soft-hearted. Despite all she suffered, she didn't let the world sour her. Herok proved to her there was good in people, and it was a kindness she knew she'd never forget.
Herok is different from the other orcs we've read about, in this series and in others. While he gained his name in battle, there's very little to that side of him that we see. What battles do take place aren't as bloody as you'd expected. The violence is there, but it's understated, making this feel like a lighter read.
If you love orcs, a slow-burn romance, and a super sweet couple, then Orc's Queen is a book you shouldn't miss out on. There's action, romance, and a happily-ever-after. It will leave you with a smile on your face, and feeling content despite the ugliness in the world.

This is book 6 in a fabulous series and I loved every page I turned and I’m sad that it might be the last book. Geneva is a beautiful human female that’s be captured and caged by human males to be traded for food and water but is treated badly before then but she doesn’t suffer long because there settlement is raided by Orc’s and the human men are all killed and when the Huge Orc comes and takes her out of the cage she is in he is gentle and caring and she will forever be in his debt and when he leaves her in a safe place and continues on with there raids. Harok the great is an Orc that is stuck on earth with many other clans and with there healing magic disappearing they find themselves relying on the humans who can heal with the herbs all around them and are treated very well in these clans but not everyone wants or see’s his vision about them all coming together and is betrayed by one of his own and is left for dead but Geneva finds him and heals and nurses him back to health and with the more time they spend together they fall madly in love and now he must fight for what was once his. There is so much more to this book that keeps you wanting more right up till the very end.

I loved this book! Such wonderful characters! Geneva and Harok were perfect for each other. They had great chemistry and really complimented each other well. Geneva is a twenty two year old woman traded like property and kept in a cage like an animal- not by orcs, but by human men. Women are valued, but treated horribly. Geneva is strong, a fighter, and tries to protect the young girls from abuse. Harok wants to find a way to make peace and build relationships not only with other orc clans, but with humans. Orc magic is all but gone, but humans know how to heal without it through natural means. There are many though, who rebel against any kind of relationship with humans. Harok does what he can to raid human settlements and rescue those who have been enslaved. Geneva is one woman he saved and set her free. When he is betrayed and left for dead, she finds him and saves his life in return. This book hooked me from the start. Great world building and a story I couldn't put down. Loved it. 5 stars.
Geneva hates the way women have been treated since the orc invasion. Being treated as little more than property, she decides to protect her younger sister and agrees to be bartered to a local settlement. There she is kept in a cage and used for pleasure and breeding. When the ors attach the settlement, she is freed. While women are treated badly by their fellow humans, orcs treat women as valuable member of their community. Geneva is strong, smart, independent and Harok the leader of this orc clan is smitten. When she nurses him back to health after be is betrayed, that just grows stronger. The book is well paced, sizzling, steamy, action packed, and with a great HEA. All 6 books of the Orc Warriors of Protheka by Celeste King are available to read for free on Kindle Unlimited. Binge this weekend, these are all great books

Geneva, the human female lead, is a caged slave to be sold/traded when Harok, the male orc lead and his tribe raid the human settlement and set her and then others free. Once free, she settles elsewhere but, when she discovers he has been hurt, she goes to return the favour. Both are attracted to each other but they have to determine if they can make a relationship work, especially since Harok knows he has traitors in his advisory circle…
This story is dual POV, well written, and stands alone from others in the series, though previous characters are alluded to a cameos made. The relationship development is tentative because both characters are uncertain how to make a relationship work in their world. It is sweet and steamy and cute.

Another amazing book in this series I couldn't put down. This wonderful story is about Harok the Great, an Orc chieftain who wants the Humans and Orcs to work and survive together and Geneva a Human women who been imprisoned and sold like a commodity since the Orcs came and conquered the Earth. Geneva disgusted by the treatment from the human men is rescue by Harok who just became chief when his father died. Harok takes Geneva to a settlement they built for the human women. Days later Geneva hears about an injured Orc and goes to help him finding Havok who has be betrayed. Nursing Havok brings them together. Can Havok regain his Chieftan position and bring his dream of unity? I enjoy read and reviewing this ARC that I received via Booksprout
I have to admit Geneva was not what I expected. I'm not sure what I expected actually. But Geneva is strong and smart and capable. She's also incredibly focused on her family and doing what she feels is right. Harok is a great leader. But he is up against a lot of prejudice and orcs unwilling to see any change. Though this feels like background compared to his time with Geneva. I really enjoyed the story. Both the romance and the external mess. And for people that have read the previous book, Orc's Pet, there is a little appearance from Aqidah which was nice.

Geneva is in a cage in a bunker where humans mistreat their own kind especially the women the young ones while they get used and abused until one day Geneva hears fighting and then an orc comes in and takes her out of the cage and into freedom. Harok the chieftain of the Thunder Strike clan is disgusted by the way the human females get treated by their own as slaves so Harok is determined to free as many as he can even the little female Geneva he saved, now it’s turned around and she saves him even though his clan are weary of humans. Fantastic story I loved it and the characters and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book in the Orc Warriors of Protheka series is about Harok and Geneva. The Orcs and humans have been making some headway together. There are still some who do not want change though. Harok is a chieftain who along with others, helps Geneva and other humans escape captivity. She gets the chance to pay back his help and kindness when betrayal occurs. These two develop a strong connection. There are still obstacles for them to get past. I liked the storyline and thought it was well written.

A standalone within the series. Geneva is saved from slavery by Harok. When he is wounded, she saves him in return. They form a bond but danger still stalks him and he can’t make any promises. The characters in this story were different than what passes for normal in their world. In spite of the danger she’s in, Geneva is extraordinarily strong and determined. Harok is very forward thinking and despite what his people think, he wants what’s best for them which will require changes. Fast fun read. A little bumpy at the beginning but you’ll catch up quickly.
Harok is a true hero in every sense of the word. He's found a female fit to rule at his side as his Queen in Geneva. She's a marvel at how ferocious she is. They'll both walk through fire just to be together. The predicament that Harok finds himself in through all that backstabbing in his clan gives a new meaning to "keep your friends close and your enemies closer". You just have to figure out who's who in the zoo, before you wind up with a knife in your back.
You know you sort of get used to orcs being portrayed in a certain dark light., right? This story is different, like, in a good way. The orcs are trying to make a change in their world, and as in all societies, change is not always embraced by everyone. I didn't get a good feel of the humans, they seemed kind of ungrateful and well, uncivilized. It was different and quirky, but still cool. I liked it a lot.
Orc’s Queen: A monster Romance [Orc Warriors of Protheka Book 6 by Celeste King this is Geneva, human and Harok, Orc chieftains’ story. This can be read as a standalone, but it is a great addition to this series another winner. Celeste has created an amazing, developed world of humans and orcs with all the differences between them. Geneva is a slave, Harok sets her free, how their love develops, a very entertaining read.
It is an amazing story, beyond the fantastic attraction between Geneva and Harok, we can see a world blinded by the ambition of power, humans and orcs do whatever it takes to get a place of privilege. And against these ideas fight our protagonists. They save each other and fight not only for what they want but for a different future for everyone. I loved it!
Geneva and Harok are the topic of the book. Women captured and used as a commodity is the name of the game. But HAROK refuses to let it be so with Geneva. She looks fragile but is tough. action, unexpected parts that make you read the passage a second time is great. inevitable ending. . The author has delivered strong characters and on the edge of your seat romance filled with action and steamy moments . With a well developed storyline and strength within the characters, the story was unpredictable , intriguing and enjoyable .
Am not sure Ms. King wrote this book. It is filled with physical pain and nonsensical actions such as human heroine breaking her leg then few minutes later outrunning an orc. Go figure! Additionally the first person writing was like a long one sided telephone conversation. If you are reading the series skip this one and proceed directly to next book.
The world of orcs and humans is a brutal one, but the relationship that develops between Geneva and Horace is one of sweetness. I enjoyed the juxtaposition of brutality and tenderness and I also enjoyed getting to see Adiqah from Orc’s Pet again. Another great orc tale by Celeste King.
This was a fun read that takes us on another exciting reading ride. I'm really enjoying these orc romances that let that soft centre out for their loved ones. This one is no different and, added to the action, it was a page turner for me.
Harok finds Geneva imprisoned in a human bunker and sets her free. Geneva later rescues Harok from death. Their ensuing story is one of action, adventure, and the power of love.
I love how the roles were reversed and the human had to save the big strong chieftain this time. I also loved he had met and formed an alliance with Aquda the Wise and started working with good humans.
Geneva is enslaved in a human encampment when she is unexpectedly freed by a band of Orcs led by their chieftain, Harok. Harok believes that the way forward for his race is to improve relations among his clan, other Orc clans and humans - an idea which is not shared by all his fellow Orcs, so he must keep his raids to eradicate human slave camps on the down low. But his views lead to a tragic betrayal. Romantic feelings continue to grow between Geneva and Harok as their relationship comes to a full, hot, and steamy fruition. Yet things are not as they should be, threatening their HEA.
