Dungeons and Daddies: Season 1

Rate this book
Dungeons and Daddies is sometimes a BDSM podcast, definitely not a D&D podcast, but a rowdy, horny, violent podcast for grown-ups about 4 dads flung into the Forgotten Realms on a quest to rescue their lost sons.

Easily the most wholesomly unhinged piece of media I ever consumed. You don't even need to be into DnD to enjoy this, and at a point where I felt a bit burned out with my own DnD projects this podcast got me back into the groove and fun of playing. Highly recommend!

An absolutely brilliant podcast revolving around 4 daddies and their sons being pulled through the veil into the Forgotten Realm. As a DnD fan, be prepared for some wacky, wild adventures and be ready to relive those “cringe” moments our daddies put us through.

Highly recommend you don’t listen to this whilst powerlifting lest you are alright with laughing so hard you drop your bar and all your weight. Otherwise, listen to it everywhere! Make your friends listen!

I stumbled across this podcast on Audible. It was quite some time ago, but I think I was looking for something to get me invested in Dungeons and Dragons. I've been trying for years to get into it but can't seem to find the joy or fun that I hear about from other people. That said, this podcast not only gave me interest in Dungeons and Dragons but left me having a real desire to write a campaign of my own.

The beginning and middle of the podcast was the real highlight of the series for me. I felt like the ended took a bit of a dip, but was still an enjoyable story. Towards the end, it wasn't only the progression of characters that was present, but the progression and learning of the actors. It was amazing, seeing how they had improved over the duration of the podcast. I think the best example would be Beth May. I think Beth is quite commonly a fan-favourite, and I don't think I would have enjoyed the podcast nearly as much without her.

Her character of Ron Stampler was just amazing. I want to say unmatched but the overall cast of this podcast was just incredible. Some of my favourites including; Paedon, Walter the Immoral and Scam Likely. Anthony Burch managed to make so many lovable, amazing characters, in a way that I have never experienced before. I don't think you could manage to make it through this whole podcast without getting emotionally attached to at least one of the characters portrayed.

The humour of the podcast is just amazing. While every single cast member contributed to the laughs and comedic tone of the series, I have to say that Freddie Wong was a shining star. I feel like Burch really facilitated this too, with the rule of And as if the humour wasn't enough, the twist and turns of this podcast were enough for anyone. Burch was just amazing with his story-telling. Which I think is an even bigger achievement based on the chaotic characters, derailing the story at multiple points.

Unfortunately, I'd say the weakest part of the podcast for me was the ending. You could see that Anthony had put so much into the

That said, the overall podcast was the best that I have ever listened to. You don't have to know Dungeons and Dragons going in, as they podcast stands up on its own. It might even be better not knowing D&D as I feel that the rules are sometimes played a bit fast and loose. I don't mean that as a criticism though, I absolutely loved it. I honestly don't think I'll come across a podcast as enjoyable as this one, and would recommend until the cows come home. I have already got somebody from work to start listening, and I'm constantly pestering him, to catch up so that we can talk about spoilers.

(Fantasy/humor) Heartfelt and hilarious, I fell in love with these characters. From beginning to end, the actors really showed their talent. The thing that really bothered me about this show was how often the actors would get into fights about rules and abilities. Anthony’s DMing was so creative and filled with wonder and humor. Well Actually/ Scam Likely and the Library were remarkable NPCs that I want to use in my own games. Just wildly disgusting, silly, and scary all at the same time. I’m well into season two now and I can say that it doesn’t hold a candle season one. As a story, the podcast was tense and emotional, more literary than some of the books I’ve read this year.

Hot damn! Started as a podcast and ended as a story I loved. I went through, unemployment, employment, moving across the country to a new city and state, and bought my first home, got a car, found a girlfriend and kinda 2 step kids. This Dungeon’s and Daddies adventure was the only constant in my life during all of that. The entire cast and crew did an amazing job. The story was always fun and funny, action packed and just a great story. If you want a fun adventure, or need something funny, or just something light to listen to, I HIGHLY recommend adding this to your list! Enjoy!

absolutely a treasure. i relisten to the whole first season about every 3-6 months because its a hyper fixation of mine, but it's hard not to be this into a podcast with such heart, empathy, and goofs. i will always always love these dumb dads and their weird children.
