Trial by Magic by Alex Gates is Book 1 in the Arcane Wars series. This is a well written, fast paced, page turning adventure with interesting characters. Atticus (MMC) is an individual who is reluctant to take initiative. After being kidnapped, Atticus learns he has a magical ability that changes his life. The storyline is intriguing and grabs your attention and keeps you wanting to know what comes next. This is the first Alex Gates books that I have read but it will not be the last as I have found a new author to follow. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary review.

Well written, fast paced book. Magic, action to keep your attention. Strong characters to make this a great beginning to a new series.
