Crazy In Love #2

My Biggest Break

Rate this book
Vision boards and positivity were great, except when you’re late for a big audition and the director was literally the worst.
Oh, Jagger Hartley was young, talented, exceptionally good-looking with a famous last name, but that’s about all he had going for him.
If only he’d known Belle Mathews wasn’t the kind of woman who’d take no for an answer, and she was going to finish her audition even if she had to take him hostage.
Which she kinda did . . . oops!
But even a hijacked meeting under duress couldn’t overshadow how gifted Belle was—a born star who belonged on stage.
Pity he was crazy attracted to both her undeniable beauty and her generous heart.
So he was either going to be her biggest break, or she was going to his.

My Biggest Break is a fun read, perfect to escape the reality.

Arriving late for an audition wasn't the right move for aspiring actress Bella Mathews, or was it? When she sees the director Jagger Hartley rudely stand up and leave the thetre in the middle of her audition she decides to run after him, and that is how their story begins.

Bella and Jagger will definitely conquer your heart. Bella was love at first sight for me, she is feisty and tells whatever she thinks, I'd like to be more like her. Jagger on the other hand is a taste to get used to, he is grumpy and a little haughty, but I saw in him the biggest growth.
Together they are explosive, inside and outside of the bedroom, their personalities clash and spark and I've really enjoyed their story.

It was a pleasure to meet some of the charaters of another book written by this author and I hope that other characters get their own story.

I always adore Tina's books, especially with her personal brand of humor and her original storylines, I usually find myself glued to my kindle until I'm at the very last page. However I did struggle with this one even though the meet cute and just Belle in particular was fabulous -- it was Jagger I couldn't connect too. I hated how he would quickly jump to the worst possible conclusion, I hated how he never seemed to fully trust Belle, and I especially hated how he called our heroine a terrible name and barley groveled for her back. In a nutshell, he just didn't do it for me.

The premise of this book is that Belle is a struggling Broadway actress whom is trying out for a huge play that could mean major opportunities for her career.. but she showed up late. And the grumpy producer isn't having it, so Belle being Belle, follows him to his car and traps herself inside with him until he apologizes for his demeanor-- but she quickly realizes it's a battle for the wills, and once our surly producer realizes she's not going anywhere, he takes her with him to his parents anniversary party. They bond a bit on the way, and Jagger realizes that Belle is unlike anything/anyone he's ever known, but he refuses to let her in, because people always leave. She soon breaks down his walls, and while I did appreciate the back and forth in the beginning, Jagger just drove me crazy with his back and forth and closed off self towards the middle. Then there was that horrible name calling, and the fact that he had to be persuaded to get her back, and even then he didn't put in much of an effort. So while I loved Belle and I'm glad she got her happy ever after, I just never warmed up to our hero.

Overall I still love Tina's writing and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **

4.5 star review of My Biggest Break (Crazy In Love #2) by T Gephart
I couldn’t wait to dive into My Biggest Break as the blurb drew me in. This book was well written with characters whose story you cannot help but become invested in.

This is Belle and Jagger’s story and can be read as a stand alone. We met Belle in the first book as she is Zara’s younger sister. I fell hard and fast for both these characters. Belle is a star in the making and I loved how feisty, sassy and determined she is to succeed. Jagger is a Broadway director who is casting a part that Belle wants, he is totally swoon worthy and I adore him. The chemistry between them is intense and you could feel the air crackle between them.

I loved the push and pull dynamic of their relationship and it was entertaining to watch t development. There is something about Ms. Gephart’s writing style, her characters are strong yet not afraid to show their vulnerability. Her stories are witty, entertaining and heart warming and always leave me with a smile on my face.

If you love romcoms then T Gephart is always a good place to go to get your fix.

My Biggest Break is a mixture of hilarious, tender, protective, frustrating and chuckle worthy moments. What else would you expect when the leading man and woman are involved in the theatre?

Belle is quite simply sensational! She is the type of person that everyone should strive to be!

Jagger on the other hand should really be a cardigan wearing, cantankerous elderly gentleman, which he most certainly is not! What he needs, and gets, is the special brand of magic that can only be effective when you meet your 'person'.

Their often hilarious, verbal jousting is spun gold, and threads neatly throughout this entire reading experience.

I'm so pleased that we've had a return to the Crazy in Love series and continue to be amazed at how artfully new characters , that we all hope to meet again, are woven into the current storyline. I certainly know who I hope is next on the list!

Finally...Having met the amazing Tina Gephart I have absolutely no doubt that Belle has been fashioned from the woman herself and only wonder how much of Jagger we'd find in her 'long suffering' husband Gep!?

With such an outlandish meet cute, I kinda expected this to be funnier, quirkier, more carefree - but this hero's lack of trust and penchant for jealousy put a damper on it for me. I'm a fan of Gephart's work, and I always look forward to whatever crazy idea she's come up with for her latest rom com. They typically have unique storylines with light, sexy tones and plenty of playfulness. This one started out that way - I loved the meet cute and saw tons of potential in the opening scenes. It's not a storyline I've ever read before, and the grumpy/sunshine dynamic was working. It was a 4-star read until about halfway through, but then the hero started to really bug me. And then the final act sorta ruined it.

The story follows Belle, an actress who is hoping to have her big break soon. When she's late for an important audition, she tries to explain to the director that it was out of her control, but he has no interest in hearing her excuses. Unwilling to take no for an answer, and at least wanting to give Jagger a piece of her mind, Belle jumps into his car and refuses to leave. The only problem? Jagger has somewhere to be, and Belle soon finds herself along for the ride. What starts as an act of desperation soon turns into something else, and these two strangers connect in unexpected ways. But starting something between them is all kinds of trouble, because it could ruin Belle's career before it even gets started.

This easily reads as a standalone if you're not caught up on the series, but there are plenty of appearances from familiar characters. The beginning hooked me in, and I loved how unpredictable and spontaneous the storyline feels. I never knew what trouble these two would get up to next, and I loved the softer side Belle brings out in Jagger. Unfortunately, his trust issues run deep, and they made all of my warm and fuzzy feelings for the story fizzle out. He's got a major jealous streak and he jumps to conclusions that don't reflect well on anyone. So this 4-star read (a book this one-of-a-kind should've been more compelling) turned into an obvious 3-star read for me. It definitely doesn't stick the landing. That being said, I enjoyed a significant portion of it, so it wasn't a total miss. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this forbidden romance.

4.5 Stars!

Did you see that blurb?!
Genuis.

T Gephart is back with the next standalone book in her crazy fun Crazy in Love series and y'all, what a romance this was. I'm a huge, huge fan of this author and her previous books and this series is just another hit by her and a great reason why I keep coming back.

This book is on the lighter, easier side of romance (the perfect palate cleanser!) and packed with a whole lot of smiles and fun the entire book.

My Biggest Break was crazy good. I was hooked cover to cover in the most unforgettable, unputdownable kind of ways y'all. Jagger and Belle were quite the pair (their back and forth gave me life!) and boy did they hook me hard and fast on their journey.

If you want a book that is easy to read, full of laughs with dashes of steam, and will make you feel good the. whole. time. then you NEED to give T Gephart a whirl.

I highly recommend this book.

4.5⭐️ All the feels and tension in this book really got me!

I absolutely loved Belle and Jagger's story. Whew, these two! Jagger really got me hooked. That guy broke my heart and piece it back together. I loved him, with his issues and all, and I was rooting for him the whole time even though there were times I want to bang his head for being so stubborn and a butthead.

I definitely loved the second half of the book. The first half wasn't bad, I mean I loved the way Belle stormed into Jagger's life and she was so persistent about things. Jagger was not expecting that. But the second half was where I cried, okay. It was so damn emotional, it's where we get to see Jagger being so vulnerable and his issues were really the focus and how he deals with it in order to be with Belle. I loved Belle, she's absolutely amazing and she definitely didn't put up with Jagger's crap which is exactly what he needs.

There are some books that you just know are going to be good. Whether it's the author, the trope, the genre or a combination of all three, like this one. This is a complete standalone novel, but it is the second book in a series. Do you need to read the first? No, it won't impact on your experience with this book, but you'll be missing out on another fabulous story. If you have read the first - My Greatest Mistake / Zara and Lincoln - you'll be happy to know that this tale features her sister Belle and a Broadway director Jagger Hartley.

I use reading as an escapism; I want to be uplifted, walk away with the biggest smile and feel like all is right in the romance world. This book did that for me. I know I am reading fiction, but the story played out in a genuine way and I connected with the characters like old friends. Belle Mathews is a young stage actress who is looking to find her biggest break, and she feels that could be with the new Jagger Hartley play. She's off to a rough start from the audition, and things go from bad to worse in minutes. She is one of the most sassy, cheeky characters with hilarious comebacks, including the banter between her and Jagger. He is grumpy to her sunshine and he starts to see she is the real deal, on and off the stage. Their infatuation is instant but both fight it for a few reasons, that you need to read for yourself. The thing that I am most appreciative in my reading lately, is that authors are now articulating the importance of a partnership in every aspect of the relationship. Not only the intimacy scenes, but needing to compromise to make it work and it's not one sided. Also apologising for any wrong doing is done without any added drama and no grudges are being held. This to me is key, it's being a mature adult with class.

I see there will be at least one more book in this series, which is Hayley, best friend of Belle. I also have my fingers crossed that Nate gets his own book or novella, so we know he gets a HEA too. If you haven't read anything from this author, jump in with this series, its a brilliant one.

Belle & Jagger… a couple that are an unlikely match on paper, but they are perfect for each other.

Belle is a spitfire that knows what she wants and faces things head on. She’s not an overly dramatic actress that annoys you. She’s a real person, with real feelings and real life experiences. So when Jagger Hartley doesn’t give her time to explain why she was late, she makes him listen. That’s what really pulled me into this story - I had to find out what happened next.

Jagger Hartley is your grumpy, broody type of man. He had an odd upbringing so he’s set in his ways. So when Belle is thrown into his life, she tilts his world on its axis. And he’s not sure how to handle all of these feelings, they’re very confusing. Plus there’s the added complication that he’s the director and she’s an actress in his play!

Their love is very instant but when you know you know! I loved that they both worked on themselves during their time apart, to be the best version of themselves they could be, which in the end made them that much more of a better couple! I hope we get to see more of Hayley, Dane, & Nate in the future as well!

I simply love Belle with her lack of a filter, her upfront/honest personality, and her beautiful soul. She is the sunshine that brightens Jagger’s life up all the while being a force to be reckoned with. She was a hoot!

Jagger was the complete opposite from Belle’s sunny disposition. This grumpy writer/director has no patience or care for anyone which I don’t blame him. Someone is always wanting him for their own selfish reasons and his lack of trust in the world brings his shady side out.

The characters were real and when I mean real, I mean how they had their insecurities and flaws just like you and me. Okay, well, I can say like me since I don’t know you personally, fair enough right?

Jagger did become a tad overbearing to the extreme at one point but again, this was his unique personality and made him who he was.

This is a standalone but I enjoyed it more when I’ve already read the first book and already knew the side characters and missed them a lot.
A mix of Enemies to Friends to Lovers as well as Boss/Employee keeps things interesting and entertaining along with the crazy banter between the two.
It was a fun ride!

My Biggest Break was a fun, easy to read romance. I loved the characters and the New York vibe. I enjoyed exploring this love story and the bright lights of Broadway.

Belle is an aspiring stage actress, who is a firecracker! Not in the loud, in your face annoying way. She is sunshine, rainbows and positivity on steroids. Although she is goodness personified, she is no pushover. She fights for her dreams and sticks to her guns. This tenacity leads her to become involved in an unusual situation, with a less than happy director, Jagger. These opposites give readers quite a wild and unexpected ride.

Although the story isn't complicated, there was enough to keep me interested until the end. As always with this author, the characters and the ease of humor is what keeps me coming back for more. The ebb and flow is just right.

My Biggest Break is book two from the Crazy in Love Series, however it can be read as a standalone. Belle's older sister Zara, from book one, makes a few appearances so there are spoilers.

I really enjoyed My Biggest Break, and I look forward to Hayley's story, the next book in the Crazy in Love Series.

I always love reading a book by this author and was looking forward to this story when it would come out. A fun, romantic yet heartwarming story that will melt your heart while reading; rooting for that happy ending. I loved Belle and Jagger's chemistry but also Belle's strong personality which definitely made this story even more credible. A great read!

Belle is late for an audition that could change her whole career, if not her life, but the director won't give her the time of day. She makes a bold decision and chases after him. Even though she might not have another chance, she's determined to make him see that she's the right one for the part. Jagger thought it would be another day like any to prepare for his now show but when Belle walks into his life, nothing can prepare him for what's next. But there's something about her that intrigues him that makes him want to see what she's truly about. With them becoming closer, Jagger's walls start to come down but there's still something that might break them apart in the end. Will he fight for what he wants in the end?...

I loved Belle when I met her in My Greatest Mistake, which is her sister Zara's book. Getting to know here better in My Biggest Break -- she's quirky, feisty, adorable, and I loved her as a heroine! Oh yeah, I loved Jagger too! He has been burned before because of who his family is, and he is so closed-off and a major control freak. Everything in his orbit spins out of control from the moment he meets Belle, and he doesn't know what side is up anymore. These two get off on the wrong foot, but their story is hilarious and heartfelt and they balanced each other out so perfectly!

The banter between Belle and Jagger had me laughing out loud. The push and pull was perfectly balanced, and surly Jagger turned out to be quite the mush. Tina Gephart really knocked it out of the park with these two. My Biggest Break is a perfect romcom escape. I'm a fan of Tina's books, and I definitely would rank this one near the top of my list of favorites!

Belle is an aspiring actress who is always positive and spreads joy around, Jagger is a Broadway producer who is the complete opposite to Belle.
They meet when Belle goes to an audition for his play, she turns up late after helping a friend, but Jagger doesn't want to listen, he leaves to theater but Belle is quickly on his heels and ends up in his car on the way to his parents for a party that Jagger really doesn't want to go to.
This is just the start of the fun in this book, you really won't want to put it down.
My Biggest Break is the second book in this series and the characters are all great, you can picture all the scenes as you read and I really enjoy being able to do that in a book.
Tina Gephart thank you for writing great fun books for us all to enjoy.

My Biggest Break by T. Gephart is the second stand-alone in the C in Love series. The previous book is My Greatest M and tells Zara and Lincoln's story, wich I loved very much.
This is Belle and Jagger's story. Belle is Zara's little sister, an up and coming actress.
Jagger is the director of a new theatre production and Belle wants to become the lead in the play. Only the role is already given away. But sunshine Belle doesn't give up, not on her career and not on the man she wants to be with.
This grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract story had me intrigued right from the start. I loved meeting chracters from previous books, loved reading what happened til today.
And here's a maincharacter that drives the other one up the wall, hilarious and witty, fun and unputdownable, 4,5 stars.

This was such a good book. The story gripped me from the beginning and didn't let go until the very end. It was so comical and sweet.

Belle is a character that I adore. She is determined, confident and quite sassy. I enjoyed her character development and watching this story unfold. Hartley is a cocky, difficult man to decode. He has an exterior made of Steele and doesn't come across as the nicest person. It was so fun watching tiny little Belle kick down his armour and wrap him around her little finger.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was well written, flowed smoothly and was easy to read. I laughed out loud, had my heart melt even though some of the angsty parts. I highly recommend this book.

This is the second book in this amazing series and is Jagger and Bella’s story. Bella is an aspiring actress who arrives late for an audition, and when the grumpy director Jagger, walks out in the middle of her audition, she runs after him. The sparks fly between these two and their personalities clash, and they know how to push each other’s buttons, while the chemistry is explosive and undeniable. I loved the hilarious comebacks which Bella comes out with. This is a well written story which is fun, humorous, entertaining, and with witty banter, intrigue, and love, which all leads to a compelling and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I always highly recommend.

Totally engaging

I was hooked from the first page and didn't, couldn't stop until I finished. I love Belle, her sass, spunk, kindness and overall personality. She's the kind of character you immediately bond with. Jagger, he's the typical brooding hot male character we all fall for. He's a bit of a jerk but you see glimpses of who he really is when his guard isn't up. I really enjoyed this book, I found myself laughing out loud, cursing at times at Jaggers stupidity and just smiling. Totally recommend this book!

I love a good opposite attract story. This is a perfect one. This was such a lovely and enjoyable read. The female lead is wonderful and outgoing. The male lead is broody in that way that is really compelling. It seems like a lot of books are really dark these days but this book is refreshingly light and has a good dose of humour. I really recommend this if you want a light but compelling read with a great plot and wonderful characters.

Jagger & Bella were the perfect combination of intense chemistry, humor, wit. The true definition of opposites attract! Belle is perfection, loveable & refreshing. Jagger was grumpy and just a wee bit frustrating but when these two came together... WOWZA!

This started strong, I loved the meet cute. Bella was so fun and fabulous and I was even on board with the broody Jagger for a while. Where it fell short was in the third act. So he calls her a terrible name, is awful to her, and all he has to do is walk up to her and say I want you back. Lame! I needed him to work a whole lot harder to deserve her back. The whole break up is pointless as she goes to work for the other director and Jagger doesn't fix the relationship until his show is done anyway. So what was the point? Might as well have stayed and revealed the relationship after the play was done, cause it happened that way anyway! There was too much thrown in for Jagger in that time apart. Supposedly, he went to therapy, figured out his trust issues, realized he wanted her (yet never went for her), and finished a Broadway show all in their time apart. Uhhh....

It feels like a long time since I have read a T Gephart book but I fell into it like I just finished her last one. If you need a pick me up I can recommend this author with a thousands YESES!!

Belle and Jagger are the complete opposite but perfect for each other. She is outgoing and always is chatty and he is the quiet broody guy who is unapproachable. That combo can be a bust for some but Belle is determined to get what she wants and will go to outrageous lengths to get it.

These 2 are loveable and lol worthy throughout the book. I know I sound like a broken record with it comes to these books but they are light and fun with a little naughty mixed in. T Gephart is one of my go to authors when I need a light fun read.

My Biggest Break was such a fun story! It's filled with witty, entertaining banter between Belle and Jagger that you will just love. These two were definitely bordering the line between love and hate, building up some serious chemistry before they just had to give in to their attraction to one another. Definitely wanted to smack Jagger silly sometimes, because he just didn't get it. And Belle - I loved her. She totally didn't put up with his crap, which is exactly who Jagger needed.

I have to admit, that I feel kinda silly that I didn't remember that this was part of a series.......and as I was reading, I thought, "Why do the names Zara and Lincoln sound familiar?" So, this can definitely be read as a standalone - you will not be lost at all.

Really enjoyed this one, and I cannot wait for the next book in this series!
