Being an orphan in 1866 London is rough and hardwork. Fin is just one of many children that are left at ones doorstep but she is fine, she has a family kind off, or at least Snot and Small (dog) are kind to her.

But one day, destiny makes some turn. From being nobody, Fin becomes the girl with hair on fire.

🌿 The historical setting in London and the horrible situationship of forgetting with an mix of polish mythology and magic were an interesting prologue.

I mean, I'm always weak for London and historical settings. I also felt that peculiar work like leeching and chiming was accurate to the time period of the novel - or at least it felt like that.

🌿 I can't say that I loved the language that occured, I wish it was easier to follow somehow but after some chapters I got a hang of it. The spelling was kinda old? Him become 'im and so on.

Keeping the chapters short, and having a high pace - was a good tactic. Stachera was kind of amazing in her way of storytelling. She keeps the reader stuck from the first page and with just some illustrations as complement, I started to enjoy the novel more and more.

🌿 Fin or Fingers, because she got six fingers (which is kinda weird but alright, something had to be used I suppose, at first I was also disgusted but some people are surly born with some extra limp) are a though kid with skin on her nose and beside her, Small, the best dog ever. Togheter they can do anything. After being sold off, Fin learns that something eats her kins memories, it's a curse, that needs to broken. Seeing how hard she tries, to be strong but in reality she is kind of lonely and lost - makes her human. I liked the warmth of kinship and friends - it was beautiful and heartaching. The warmth, kind of overwhelming.

🌿 Fin and the memory curse are an amazing, fast paced and interesting tale of a girl that will get revenge on a monstrous being. The excitement laid in the mystery of the unknown, the warm memory and a feeling of belonging. And in the tale of not being forgotten. It's a novel for everyone that like strong heroines and London setting, with some magic. 4/5 🌟

Fans of Rowling, Rundberg and Oliver Twist should totally read this one, you will not be disappointed!
