3.5⭐️

This one was a pretty fluff romance if your looking to read some.

Beckett is still a active solider and been more of a loner he did something in the past to his brothers when he was drunk it wasn't to bad but when you try to flirt with a wife of one of your brothers things get sticky. But that was years ago, now hes home for awhile and sees someone on his porch he's sprung already and wondering who she is. Constance has been dreaming of meeting Slate aka Beck since he saved her mom years ago but now her mom is missing again who better then to help her.

There chemistry is off the charts even when Beck tried to push her away since she's young and he knows once he gets a taste she's never leaving.

I’m over the virgin heroine bullshit. Either both need to be virgins or neither. I understand if there is religious or cultural expectations for her to be an innocent virgin but otherwise? No. And the men are almost always manwhores. Don’t get me started on that. No. Why are we still glorifying women remaining virgins? It’s 2025 ffs. Misogynistic fucking bullshit

Good quick read.

I thought this was cute. From any other author it would be a good book. But I’ve come to expect more from Nichole Rose who practically blows me away with everything she writes. This came off a little lackluster to me compared to her other stuff.

The couple: Slate and Constance

Romance trope: age-gap
Series: SEAL Team Romeo
Length: 124 pages

Plot: Years ago, Slate saved Constance's mom in a war zone. She's had a little crush on him ever since. Now her mom is in trouble again, and Slate is the one person she thinks of to help her. He's not sure it's a good idea though. He knows that if she sticks around too long, he'll be claiming her forever.

Commentary: I really enjoyed this one. Poor Slate was so sure he didn't deserve happiness. I imagine that's a common problem with military people who have been in actual combat. He did everything exactly the way he was supposed to, but firefights must be chaotic. He was a good guy in a bad situation (like war generally is). Constance knew him though, even if she didn't know him fully yet. And I loved the way that Slate was so over-the-top possessive. The scene in the bar with the dancing was pretty funny; Constance may be young and inexperienced, but she's as clever as can be!

Next book in the series: Under Pressure

If you’re just looking for a quick cute read this will hit the spot. It’s an instalove curvy girl older man, so the same stuff as usual. There was a bit too much summary of lots of other characters’ backstories, it didn’t add anything to this story but it may make fans who’ve read other books in the men of valour series happy. If you haven’t read any of those you may be bored by it. I’ve read them and was bored by it. But cute read with good pacing and is a decent example of this genre. I’m not overwhelmed or overexcited by this book but I think that’s a me thing in that I’ve read way too many stories just like this one and frankly think this whole trope is overdone. But then I shouldn’t have picked up this arc so I can’t fault the book for that.

I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t sure about the hero at first. In a previous book he had some questionable behavior and I wasn’t sure if it was something I wanted to read about. I’m glad I did though.

-no cheating
-no ow/om drama
-virgin heroine/ long celibate hero
-no violence of a sexual nature
-epilogue 8 years out

Perfect story for a GREAT series.

Humble, hard working military heroes are my jam. Easy Surrender’s Slate, fits the bill perfectly. He is haunted by his role in the outcome of a military operation that went sideways. Will his mind and heart settle when he realizes the same military operation brings him Constance, the love of his life, his owlet, his angel baby?

Constance is another perfect Nichole Rose heroine. She is sassy and smart and wayyyy clumsy (laugh out loud clumsy, during…uhhmm…$exy times). Slate became Constance’s hero well before she ever met him. She needs his help again and she tracks him down to get it.

Together, Constance and Slate find their forever in each other. I couldn’t get enough of their scorching hot attraction and love. Their story is compelling and heart wrenching.

I also really enjoyed revisiting Valor, Wyoming where Nichole’s Shep and Ainsley’s story took place in Easy Ride (part of the Men of Valor MC multi author series). Slate made some drama in that book and it was great to get closure on that “incident.” (It’s not necessary to read Easy Ride before reading this book).

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I purchased a copy. This is my honest, bone-melting hot, 🔥⭐️🔥⭐️🔥⭐️🔥⭐️🔥⭐️ review.

While I loved the story, I am over the whole age gap thing lol. I don't know why it's always the same damn thing, the fmc always in her teens and the guy is in their 30s. Why can't the fmc at least be in their 20s and the age gap be like 5 years or something? Why does the fmc have to be a virgin? I mean the rest was fine and at least there wasn't a Daddy kink in it 🤪

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Slate/Beckett mets Constance when she comes looking for him. Constance mom is Dr. Jane Nayler, Slate rescued her three years ago in Yemen. Now, Constance's mom has been missing for three weeks and her mother told her to go to Slate for any help she needed. Slate goes back to Valor on leave, he reconnects with the MC of Valor. Constance is waiting on Slate's front porch after he comes home from dinner. After Constance tells Slate about her mother missing he makes some phone calls, to find out if they can find any leads. When Constance tells Slate she is headed back to stay at a hotel he tells her to stay with him. Slate is on the phone when Constance walks out and hears what he did in Yemen. Later Slate asks Constance if she has any questions, she tells him she knows what he did, and she thinks he's a hero. Constance mother filled her in on what Slate did. Slate kisses Constance and ask her if she fells the same for his as he does for her, he than pleasures her. The next day Slate takes Constance to a party the MC of Valor is holding, he lets her ride on the back of his motorcycle and where his cut. Slate warns Constance that she's not to drink, not to take any drink for anyone, and not to dance with anyone but him. Everyone loves Constance and can already see a change in Slate. Constance asks Slate to dance with her and when he tells her he doesn't dance, she takes off his cut and walks to the dance floor. Slate is right behind her, not letting every man who's watching her dance with her. After a few songs, Slate tells Constance he needs to take her home. Slate tells Constance he wants her, she asks him if he wants her on his bike. Slate pleasures Constance on his bike, she almost falls off but he catches her. Slate heads to Stratford Training and Fitness where he talks to Shep Easy Ride about what he did in his mission. Shep reminds him that he has people he has to talk to and he should come around more often. Slate didn't think he was welcomed at the MC of Valor because of what he did in his past. On his way out Slate gets a phone call from Remy telling him that Constance mother isn't where she told her daughter, but she was taken and they have a mission to rescue her for the next day. After Slate gets home Constance can tell that something is wrong but he doesn't want to tell her. When Constance demands Slate tell her he tells her that her mother was taken but that a rescue is already underway. Slate and Constance wait by the phone, the next day they get word that her mother is on her way home. Slate takes Constance on a ride to the mountains to get her mind off of her mother. A few days later they met her mother at the airport, and Constance's mother knows that something is going on between Slate and her daughter. Eight years later, Slate is done with the SEAL's he is retired, they have three boys. Slate and Constance want another baby and they are both hoping it's a girl. Constance's mother stays near her daughter to help out with her grandchildren. Slate is happy he is getting to spend the time with Constance and this pregnancy since he missed out not he other three. Slate tells her he loves her and Constance tells him she loves him too.

2.5 ✨ This was ok for me. If you want basically no obstacles in their relationship, low angst romance you’ll like it.

Part of me likes instalove because it’s romantic that someone is so sure of you so quickly, but part of me is like please show me a little more getting to know each other.

Slate did realize he has to shape up and get therapy for his past navy SEAL trauma, which was nice. Constance is an ok character but I would’ve liked more information on her. I didn’t know anything about her hobbies or education or possible career? We pretty much only know she’s close with her mom who was missing.

So I just would’ve liked a little more oompf overall but it was a quick read.

Safety info:
-virgin h, H celibate for years (mentions he’d been with others but it had never been a priority/ never been in a relationship) - he’s 30 and she’s 19 btw
-other triggers: mentions of war, killing, missions and friendly fire but not too much detail
-his nicknames for her are angel baby and owlet and they’re used so much, it’s a crime

Slate is a SEAL dealing with some hard memories. When he comes home on leave to find the daughter of a woman he saved on his porch his life turns upside down. Constance's mom travels to dangerous areas all over the world as a doctor, and she's gone missing again. Constance came to Slate for help finding her, and in the process lost her heart to the best man she's ever known.

Slate made one split second decision that saved lives, but is haunting him. Constance only knows him as her hero, the man who saved her mom. When she meets him, she realizes he has scars, both internal and external, but she will never let him fight alone. He has her heart and all she sees is a brave, strong, loyal man who loves her fiercely.

This is a heartwarming story with a thread of danger and worry running through it because of Constance's mom. All works out well though and the epilogue really illustrates how deeply Slate loves Constance, and the wonderful life they built.

I thoroughly enjoy this MC series and cannot wait to read more.

This book is everything I hoped for and yet way more at the same time. We were first introduced to Slate in Easy Ride and he was NOT likeable. But wow did this ever give him the redemption story that shot straight to the heart. This book not only explains his actions and his thoughts behind it, but shows his inner demons, his struggle with PTSD and how he sought help. The strength of his character was astounding and the communication between him and Constance was heart melting. They truly were the perfect couple. In true Nichole fashion, you get insta-love, no OW or cheating, BBW and a heroine who comes into her own. Constance was sassy, hilarious, a true fighter and the perfect woman to battle along side him. I’m loving how much these books make you FEEL while touching on some tough subjects. Another one added to my favourites pile!.

A revisit to Valor WY

You might remember Slate from " Easy Ride " which was a part of the Valor MC series. Slate is a Navy Seal that has been struggling emotionally. Three years ago he was on a rescue mission and killed an innocent man. He made sure that Dr Jane Naylor, who was injured, made it to safety so that she could be reunited with her daughter. Constance always knew that if she was in trouble, the first man to go to was Beckett " Slate" Jennings. He had saved her mom 3 years ago. When her mom goes missing and no one is giving her answers, she drives to Valor WY to find Slate. One look, and Slate knew that she was going to change his life. And, Constance had been in love with him since he saved her mom. Can Slate fights his demons to be able to open up and love Constance the way she deserves? Will her mom be coming home safely this time? This book was so good on so many different levels! I loved it!!

It's been awhile since we've seen Slate. He was in Shep and Ainsley's story. It was nice to get the full picture of him in Easy Surrender. He's broken. He is holding onto his mistakes and regrets. Constance comes to him for help. Her mother is missing again and the only one she feels can help her is Slate. She's had a crush on him since he saved her mom 3 years ago. He is her hero. She becomes his. They really save each other. She brings light to the darkness surrounding him. He brings safety, love, and comfort to hers. They have amazing chemistry. You can feel the love coming off the pages. I loved getting to see Shep and Ainsley again. I loved that in the epilogue we get to see them starting his retirement beautifully. Beckett (Slate) Jennings is a Navy SEAL. His first mission 3 years ago was to save Dr. Jane Nayler and her colleagues. During the mission, things went wrong and Slate accidentally killed one of the civilians. He was and still is devastated. He did save Dr. Nayler and she was able to go home to her 16 year old daughter Constance. He is home on a break before his next mission. He is part of the Men of Valor MC.

He drops his stuff off at his cabin then goes to get his prize motorcycle, Lolly. When he arrives back at the cabin, a young girl is sitting on his porch. It is Constance Nayler. Her mom, Dr. Jane Nayler, has been missing for the last 3 weeks and Constance needs Slate’s help.

Will Slate help Constance? Will Slate keep things professional or will he give into his feelings for Constance? Are Constance’s feelings for Slate just a hero crush from 3 years ago or real desire?

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. I enjoy reading Nichole's love stories. The couples are always unique and great together. Case in point, Slate and Constance. She has known him as nothing but a hero even though they haven't met. He saved her mom at the same time he lost himself. Slate is going to find strength and love born out of his nightmares. While there is suspense, drama and torment throughout their story, the connection between them is something that cannot be denied. He can finally find the peace and love he needs to heal. Constance is a delight and perfect for this closed off SEAL. I really enjoyed their love story. I thought it was well written and a great addition to this series.

become a SEAL.

Being a motorcyclist, a Harley, his choice he fit in well with the local, Valor MCs. Comprised of, ex as well as, current military men, their families, and girlfriends. Being he is still in service, he does not participate too often. I would have to guess, that it has more to do with his up bring, than service.

Although you will come to find out, that a ghost haunts him, and Constance holds the keys. She can free him from the ghost, and the pains of the past. Allowing him, to heal relationships that cause him, to shy away from.

She is there to ask him for help, from her superhero. Not knowing he is young and sexy. He had saved her mom once before, can he do it again? Enjoyed this book. Very funny, openly sexual, and verbally crude talking. What you would expect from an MC and Service Man who is sexy as hell in your fantasy. LOL!

Beckett "Slate" Jennings’ first mission as a SEAL still haunts him to this day. While saving Dr. Jane Nayler in Yemen, he lost another person in that party. Jane’s daughter shows up on his doorstep in Valor WY needing his help to find her mother. Constance blows him away, making him feel things he never has.

Constance has heard so much about Slate that she feels she knows him. When her mom goes missing he is the only one she can turn to. What mom did not tell her is that is drop dead gorgeous. When he touches her she goes up in flames. There is still pain in his eyes, she is up for the challenge to help him.

Slate is part of the Men of Valor MC and you will see some familiar names if you have read that series.

Easy Surrender is a soul reaching story that has you feeling the pain the men on SEAL team go through, may it be their first mission or last, what they see always will be with them.

It is Slate's first mission, and in the confusion, he kills an innocent. Determined not to let anyone else die, Slate helps the Dr. to safety. Three years later, the last person to show up on his doorstep is one that brings back so many memories.

Constance knows Slate from what her mother told her, and he is the first person she goes to when the Dr. goes missing.

This is an amazing story that will wrap you in the pages as your melt into Constance and Slate's story. The dept and love they feel as well has the trust will melt your heart as the intensity of the story develops.

Slate was home in Valor on leave from the Navy SEALS. When he gets there Constance is on his doorstep! She needs help as her mum is missing. Slate rescued her mum in Yemen 3 years earlier and she didn’t know where else to turn. As soon as he sees her Slate knows she is his one! He loves her but feels he’s not good enough as she is much younger and he his haunted by his experiences in Yemen. That doesn’t stop him from loving Constance, their connection is too strong to deny. Their chemistry was off the charts!! Hot, steamy with all the feels! Slate was strong and very protective and Constance was everything he needed to start healing. Wonderfully written instalove story with a fantastic ending and a beautiful HEA

Nichole Rose never fails in writing a book that gives me heartwarming feels. This couple is adorable, Slate is a former soldier with demons in his past. He has had trouble dealing with his problems but is now trying to turn his life around. Constance is a sweetheart who seeks out Slate to help her find and rescue her mom.

The romance is really sweet and even though Constance is in distress about her mom, the couple fall in love. Slate is immediately possessive and protective of Constance and is in insta love with her even if he doesn’t realize it right away. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys short, romance books with protective, possessive heroes.

Another great read from Nichole Rose

This story takes us back to Valour MC series. Slate is a member of Valour MC and he was back for a break from the Seals. His life is a mess and really need help to free himself of a guilt he’s feeling. He did save a Dr’s life that they rescued. He received a visit from the Dr’s daughter who needs his help to find her mother again. Fate brought Slate and Constance together when they needed each other the most.

A very wonderful story full of redemption, forgiveness of oneself and most of all love. You always feel when reading a Nichole Rose story. I highly recommend this book.

Hero redeemed! Slate was never actually a bad guy, he carried a lot of guilt over things that he wasn't completely responsible for. He was a good man that always tried to stay on the right path. Constance may have needed help from Slate, but she definitely helped him just as much. These two are meant to be. This had emotion, heat, redemption, humor(she rolled right off😂), and a believable hea❤️ the bonus was getting to return to Valor! Seeing Shep and Ainsley again was fun, and I'm so glad Shep's caveman alpha self is okay with Slate again😁. I absolutely recommend!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Can I give this more than 5 stars???!!! I loved loved this book! Beckett/Slate is absolutely perfect as the gruff soldier who needs to forgive himself. Constance is hysterical (best line of the book was when they met on the porch) and someone who you would want to be friends with. The story and their romance was terrific. So much steam and chemistry with a wonderful ending. Another hit from Nichole Rose!

This was delightful! Constance is sweet, sassy and just plain adorable. She is innocent but not naïve and her love and admiration for Slate is immeasurable. Slate's mistakes are quite the burden. He is punishing himself, keeping apart from the guys in the MC. He doesn't feel he has the right to happiness. Fortunately, Constance is just too much to resist. I loved them so much! The only thing I would change about the story would be for it to be longer! 6 stars for Slate and Constance.

Slate & Constance

Loving this series so far!! Slate and Constance’s story is another great addition to the series. Constance is sassy and funny and even a little fearless. Slate is the hero she has fallen in love with before ever really meeting him. Being in his space only magnifies her feelings. Slate is still fighting demons from a mission 3 years ago. He didn’t realize that Constance would be the one to heal him. Their story was the perfect addition to the series.
