I love me a man that waits for his woman
And even though it’s been 10 years, he’s even MORE OTT than he was before 😈. Plus, the s m u t is 😮💨
The book opens up with showing us how close Anastasia (15-25) is with Kostya/Ruin (17-27). Her father’s in the Bratva while Kostya’s the son of a footman. Even though they’re from opposite worlds, they’re close and know each other well. Kostya’s father’s abusive while Ana’s father treats her like a princess. Ana doesn’t know the extent of Kostya’s abuse; in fact, he’s forced to fight day in and day out ☹️. The last time he sees her, he buys her a locket, and for the first time cries 😭; all because his father and others want him to un alive fighters for money.
10 years pass: Kostya is FEARED by all and Ana’s father wants her to marry in order to make strong alliances. She doesn’t want to, but she’s not given an option, the guy he chose isn’t great.
When Kostya finds out about this, he’s not happy. So he does the only thing he CAN do…
He kidnaps her 👀
What I liked/loved: possible spoilers
—um, the fact that Kostya finally acts on his obsession and gets what has been rightfully his for over a decade 👀. Sure, he should’ve done something sooner 😑, but it’s better late than never 🤷🏻♀️
—the 🔥. Good LAWD. Jenika Snow SPOILS me with the length of her 🔥 scenes!!!! The books I read after this lacked the length (that’s what she said🤣). The paragraphs or few pages dedicated to the 🔥 scenes are just not enough 🤣. JS really said “hold my beer” and proved why her smeex scenes are 🥵💦. It’s on the medium to slow burn side (first kiss 48%, cereal eating 53%, face stuff in the 60s% with the final claiming at about 68%) but. Oh. My. Goddddd it’s so STEAAAAAMY!
—cereal eating to the extreme 🥵. I can always appreciate when men eat heartedly 🤷🏻♀️ and Kostya proves just how hungry he’s been 😉, and he likes it duuuurtay 🔥. He doesn’t mind having a hard time breathing (IYKYK). He’s willing to D I E for her P L E A S U R E 😅. That’s dedication right there 😮💨
—so much praising 😮💨🔥 and a duuurty mouth 🥵 and, well, shoving back in 😉

Kostya had no qualms with seeking his own justice, and well, I admire a man that goes to the ultimate length to ensure this, even if the offense is just words. Don’t say anything bad about his woman 💅 and definitely don’t think you’re gonna marry her

—we don’t get the best clarification on why he waited a full ten years to get her back. Yes, the forced engagement probably prompted him to act, but why couldn’t he act sooner? He had already made a name for himself and had saved tons of money, but still 😐. This didn’t bother me TOO much because, well, he waited for her 🥹❤️ so I forgave him 🤣
Overall, I enjoyed this a lot 😉. I can only count on JS for smuuuutty goodness 🔥

I'm loving the underworld series this one we got teased at the end of the last book and it was delicious.
Ana and Kostya know eachother since they are from the same world friends who have some feeling for eachother. Until their world want more blood which had Kostya being taken away for training he never wanted to leave his Ana but he's forced to. Heartbroken it's been years and Ana thinks she had freedom since her father let her have a life, apartment living her dream but it was all fake. She never was free she's like every daughter she's to be married. That makes our boy Ruin aka Kostya take matter into his own hands and take his girl. Now its been awhile so yes she's confused and scared who this man is. He does give her a few clues but she's still angry and scared. So there banter is back and forth and Ana pulling away from the man who left her.
Lots of sexual tension AND 💦💦💦 and secerts come out when Ana father finds them.
Lots of blood and familiar faces!!! We get a sneak of the next couple and I SCREAMED!!!

In typical Snow fashion, this was spicy, fast-paced, and a thrilling ride. These two have so much chemistry and they were meant to be. I had a great time digging into this one and if you've loved other Mafia titles by Snow, you will too.

Kostya is the love of my damn life. He was so unhinged but so goddamn SWEET but ONLY TO HER.
This man can do no wrong. Gosh do I love me an obsessed OTT protective + possessive hero with stalker tendencies.
I will say, I would have like a real epilogue but the HEA was so good and sweet, it wasn’t completely necessary. *Technically there was one with a 6 month jump but it was not titled “epilogue”.*

Jenika is KILLING it with her mafia world AND her paranormal world. Corruption is another installment in an author collaboration series and features Ana and Kostya (Ruin). The two of them have known each other since they were little and have a deep connection. Through the years, their connection goes beyond friendship feelings but one day Kostya is ripped from Ana's life and becomes Ruin. He never wanted to leave his Ana but circumstances were not in his favor. However, he spends years making sure he can come back for her. Ana doesn't know this and has come to terms with the fact that there will always be a hole in her heart from losing Kostya.
When the dark underbelly of the mafia world catches up with her and her father is going to marry her off, her long lost Kostya comes back and kidnaps her. She doesn't know him at first because he is not the man that left her all those years ago. But the connection they always had is still there and Ruin plans on making Ana hers forever.
What ensues is a dirty back and forth and great banter between Ana and Ruin. They begin to learn each other again and revel in who they've become and who they can be for each other. This was emotional and smutty. This was sexy and dirty and was a great read to satisfy my darker mafia romance needs lol. Both Ana and Ruin (while not super multi-layered characters because the book is shorter) were well written characters that I enjoyed reading about. Can't wait for the next one!

I’m a sucker for Bratva romance, but the fact that this is a Beauty and the Beast retelling made me so excited to read it. Anastasia is the Bratva princess and Ruin is her childhood best friend and secret love before he’s sent away at age 15 to be tortured and molded into a price underground fighter and killer.
There is kidnapping, stalking, killing, all kinds of dark shit that you would associate with the Bratva, but there is also a tiny bit of love, romance and good spice. It could have been MORE but I really liked it!

I actually loved this-
I can never resist a good old mafia romance, and this was no exception. The writing for me was actually really nice, and for someone who usually hates flashbacks, I loved how they were integrated within this one.
Things did start to go off the rails at the end, and it was really rushed, and random- but I was expecting no less and was thoroughly entertained.
Stop and the smut 💀💀👆- I don't know whether to be scared or invested but they were great 💀💀. No, but what was about all the spit 🧐🧐? He did this for what?
Anyways, the violent stalker vibes were great 🤩- The way this man literally removed someone's eyes and tongue for the heroine 🧍♀️🧍♀️🧍♀️. I don't even question it anymore.
The book felt quite short to me, so I didn't question the pace of everything, or some of the ridiculous reveals- but I really liked this one (stop and I love the cover too).

i’m also intrigued by the other characters we saw in this book. def wanna check out some more Jenika Snow after this solid read!

He is "missing" for 10 years as he was being trained and groomed to become basically a killer for the Bratva. However, Kostya was never to far away - we love a good stalker!!!
Anastasia is engaged to an old man and Kostya has had enough waiting around so naturally he unalives the man and kidnaps Anastasia. Personally, my love language.
From that point we have a lot of tension and angry hot intimate moments. What surprised me was that they BOTH are proud V-Card member holders. Which again made their reunion a little more special. However, Kostya being a beast of a man likes things kinkier - and we definitely got that in this - hellooooooo primal ;)
I felt that there was a twist coming but the revelations at the end actually surprised me. If you love mafia, smut, and a fast paced story this is for you.

Not bad, but nothing special - if you want a steamy read with the backdrop of mafia stuff, then read this. If you want memorable characters who don't feel generic, or a plot that isn't predictable and basic, then skip this and read something else. The heroine (who's 23) is a dancer who is naive about the brutal world her Bratva dad is involved in. The hero (who's 25) is a hardcore tough guy who hates everyone in the world aside from the heroine, who he's obsessed with. So they're not unlikeable. And if you're into those types of characters, they're here! (Or if you want a hero who is only ever with the heroine). But these are characters we've all seen 100000 times before, and there's nothing in this book to make them feel stand-out, or like they've got much depth. (But if you like praise kink, it's in this).
This was my first read from this author, I'll probably try more, but I don't feel any urgency to run and do it right away.

Growing up together Anastasia, the Pakhan's daughter, and Kostya, the son of one the Pakhan's men, share an intense and true friendship even though they really shouldn’t.
Kostya is only 17 when he is force to train to fight, but his father decides that he is still a wimp and takes him to train harder to become the ultimate killing machine. That night, while she sleeps, he says goodbye to Ana and when she wakes up, Kostya is gone and she finds a locket he’s left her.
Ten years later Ana is informed of the arranged marriage her father has brokered. But Kostya, aka Ruin, is not gonna let anyone take his precious milaya and decides to reveal himself.

Idk. I think this might be my last go at this author. So many GR friends liked this but it just wasn't for me. I'm not going to go into the why.

3.5 for this one. Wasn't terrible but it wasn't my favourite. I also found something really off putting about the sex scenes in this one for some reason? (I love a smutty book 10000%)
