As teen stars, their young love splintered under the spotlight of fame. Twelve years later, their incredible chemistry is still there…but is their relationship ready for a Take Two?
Jay Orlando used to be a lot of things—notorious heartthrob, second lead on cult favorite teen drama Sawyer’s Cove, and in hopeless first love with his costar Camille Corsair. Now he’s a humble bar owner reluctantly trading on his onetime fame while she's a certified star. When Cami walks into his bar, the last thing he expects her to say are the words “reboot” and “contract.” While Cami is tempting as ever, Jay has no intention of reprising his role—on the show or in Cami’s life.
Cami’s fledgling producing career hinges on getting her ex-costar and the boy who broke her heart to sign on the dotted line. Her return to Misty Harbor, the small seaside town where they shot the original show, reminds her of a simpler time. She’s not expecting the place to feel like home, or to be reminded of all the reasons she fell in love with Jay Orlando in the first place.
Hollywood meets small-town New England in this brand-new steamy contemporary romance series.
Sawyer’s Cove: The Reboot Twelve years after being canceled, a beloved teen drama gets the green light for a reboot—and the show’s once and future stars upend lives in the small seaside town where it’s filmed.

“The longer he spent with her, the more he craved time in her glow.”
Cami and Jay were in love twelve years ago. They parted leaving both broken hearted. Now they have the chance to make things right again.
The basic plot of two former child stars meeting again after all these years seemed like it would be light, superficial fare. I began reading with not very high expectations since the first pages were a supposed podcast transcript from a re-watch party. My first impression was so bad I almost returned the ARC. But I thought I should at least make the effort so I began to read.
I’m so very glad I did. This book was nothing like I expected. It’s a wonderful, romantic story that I read in one sitting as once I started I could not put it down. I loved Jay! He was this incredible guy no one could fail to adore. Seriously book boyfriend material. Cami was adorable! Such a sweet girl who wanted nothing more than for someone to truly love her for herself. It was almost frustrating watching them pine for each other. I desperately wanted these two to work things out as they really belong together. This is exactly what a second chance romance is supposed to be.
The supporting characters were also fun. I can’t wait to see what ends up happening with Mimi and Nash. There’s a fantastic story just waiting to happen there.

Small town second chance romance, MCs in their early 30s
I was excited upon reading the blurb because I expected that Jay will do everything to get back together with Cami this time around. He broke her heart — in my opinion, it should be him who apologizes and makes it up to her this time.
Wrong.
The reason for their breakup when they were younger was the same old "I don't want to hold you back from being successful in your career". Which is basically him making a choice for her without talking to her about it.
I hate these MMCs who use the "I'm doing this for you" excuse to make shitty decisions. Or maybe not shitty decisions but what bugs me is why they couldn't have just talked to the FMC about it. Communication is key, boys.
The story itself was very... mellow. Compared to books/series that have a lot of drama (or maybe I've just been reading a lot of dark/bully romances), this was definitely light.
What's refreshing is that the intimate scenes were awkward at times and more realistic than the usual where everything is perfect and the couple was just instinctually in sync with each other and comes so many times. Lol
The book ain't bad but it's not great either. I probably won't be able to remember this soon. Just not for me maybe.
LIbby Waterford is a new author to me. Her writing style is comfortable and clear. Take Two is the first book in the Sawyer’s Cove: The Reboot series. Each chapter begins with a dialogue from a podcast about the show Sawyer’s Cove. This is the story of getting together the stars from Sawyer’s Cove twelve years later. More importantly, it is about two stars, Cami and Jay, who may get a second chance if they can get over themselves. Jay is the one who truly needs to get over himself and learn how to communicate. Cami has her issues, too. This is a low-angst, mild story that is more realistic than most of these types of books. I enjoyed it, it just didn’t blow me away.
Jay Orlando and his costar Camille Corsair were teen stars, loving each other. Jay now owns a bar and Cami is still a star. She walks into his bar and she tells him about a reboot and a contract. But Jay doesn’t want to go through that again. Unfortunately, Cami’s hope for a new production career depends on having Jay sign up for this. Can she convince him to help her get established on this new career? Will their teen feelings, so strong even back then, flare up into adult chemistry now? Or have they moved on?
Was a little confused at the start of this book to be truly honest, but once I got to about 20% in I started to really enjoy the feel of the whole universe. It was like coming home to Dawsons Creek and remembering an old friend. I loved the character building and the whole universe just fell into place. The overall romance was second chance but the MMC did get a little annoying with thinking he knew what was best for everyone. Generally a very happy, well rounded read. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
This was a great second chance love story that I loved reading. It’s Jay and Cami’s story. They were both former child stars who fell in love years ago but parted both broken hearted. They meet again later and their chemistry together was so good I couldn’t stop rooting for them. It’s a great story with wonderful characters and an outstanding plot. . I enjoyed digging in to this story, this second chance between Jay and Cami. They were on a TV show together when they were young, teenage sweethearts, and that history still hits hard all these years later. I was pulled into their world, reconnecting, and the ups and downs that go with that. This is a great small town, second chance, that gives you the chemistry, spice, and heart that kept me pulled in!
What a fantastic, emotional, second chance romance! Quite realistic, adorable, fun and flirty and spicy, and just pure perfection! Was so hard to put down! A real page turner. I couldn't help but picture DAWSON'S CREEK as the TV show the Main Characters had starred in 12 years earlier and were trying to 'reboot.' Can't wait for the next one in the series!

Dam he loved her for 12 years and when she finally returns he fines he cannot refuse her though he tries. But then he decided for her career he cannot have her, wake up man and take what she offering like the best love ever.
90210 meets whatever the zip us in New England small-town
I loved all of the characters. I loved the lightness of the whole storyline. No big drama, more like everyday life. I like to think there are professional actors who live "normal" lives. I really liked this story.
Dawson's creek-style fanfiction and I am 100% here for it. Loved the chemistry between the two main characters, and I especially loved the podcast element. Very excited for the next books!
I did not want to finish the book. It was written by a 15 year old about 15 year old adults. I skipped the podcast or whatever it was because that was just ridiculous. Didn’t like any of the main characters
Co-stars that feel in love as teens, reconnect twelve years later. She is still acting and he runs a bar. Producers are talking a reboot and it could boost her career again but she needs him to also sign or it is a no go. Jay and Cami are terrific characters with great backstories. The storyline follows the reboot, costars seeing each other again and catching up, drama in the town they shoot, and all the interactions like before in Misty Harbor Loved their chemistry and theatrics. Great ending.

90’s teens will love this story about former co-stars/lovers trying to keep things professional while planning a reunion series for their Dawson’s Creek-esque show. Things start to smolder behind the scenes. I loved how the New England shoreline and LA were both gorgeous backdrops to their unfolding relationship.
It's a page turner! I loved this new book by Libby Waterford and cannot wait for the next in the series! Jay and Cami had such a sweet backstory and I loved their chemistry and undeniable love.
