As I’ve said before, I don’t read a lot of zombie books. But I really enjoyed Apocalypse Book 1, the book preceding Fallout, and I looked forward to reading Fallout. I was not disappointed.

Fallout (Apocalypse Book 2) by Hayley Anderton and Laura Swift is every bit as suspenseful and engrossing as Book 1. The fun part is it’s a continuation without being a rehashing of the first book, it isn’t just more of the same. In addition to picking back up with characters from the first book, this story has new characters and new situations added to the mix. It builds on the mythos the authors have created. And as before, the characters and character interactions are fantastic! There is even one character I really want to smack the snot out of … you’ll see.

Fallout moves at a good pace and keep the tension and suspense going throughout. I read it in one sitting. It’s a great read, an enjoyable, evocative, engrossing read. I am once again looking forward to the next one. Highly recommended even if you aren’t a zombie fan.

It's been about a week since people started dying and turning into zombies. Yes, I did say zombies. Fallout tells the stories of more than one group's adventures with the zombies. But mostly they are just trying to stay alive. Some are seeing the big picture and know that the zombies are going to be around for a long time and are starting to make plans for the long haul.

I do believe that some are still looking for someone to come in and save them from the zombies. But then some have already figured out that no one is coming to save them. If they want to be saved then they are going to have to save themselves.

Some groups are breaking up and going their separate ways. Others may still be together physically but have fallen apart mentally. They are beginning to figure out that zombies are not the only thing they have to worry about in a zombie apocalypse. They are learning that humans can be just as dangerous as zombies.

Fallout was an intense read that became scarier and scarier the more I read and followed each group on their excursions in search of their family and friends and the supplies needed to survive. There were a lot of zombies around trying to take bites out of everyone. But there was also enough drama from the humans to keep the pages turning as well.

There was this one character that I just wanted to reach into the story and give this guy a big shake. Although I do think more than that needs to be done with this guy. I was livid at one point. I do believe that his time will come and that he will pay for all that he has done and will do in some way or another. I know everyone is just trying to survive the best way they know how but there is a right way to do it.

Fallout reminded me so much of my favorite TV show The Walking Dead with the humans and the zombies. I can’t wait to read more from this world, the Apocalypse series. I need more now, please. I can’t wait for the next book Chaos to make its appearance.

I highly, highly recommend Fallout to all zombie apocalypse fans! And I also recommend that you one-click your copy of Fallout today!

Fallout is the thrilling sequel to Apocalypse, a YA horror that explores young characters managing a zombie apocalypse — and if anything, I adored this one even more than the first. Characters introduced in Book 1 become even more interesting, well-rounded, and lovable as their relationships, friendships, and unlikely connections begin to develop in the midst of fatal danger. Not only that, but the plot thickens in this zombie-infested universe and I was on the edge of my seat wondering whether safety might ever await the two groups the story focuses on. There’s humour, moments of intimacy, and plenty of both deliciously predictable and spine-tingling UNpredictable tension, with each character bringing something different to the table. And if they’re not enough, we also get a few new characters — some of whom can’t entirely be trusted yet.

If you’re looking for a short but fast-paced, richly-woven story packed with plenty of punches, this series is the one for you. I’m eagerly awaiting the third installment!

Looking for a fast-paced zombie read? Then the Apocalypse series by Hayley Anderton and Laura Swift may be for you.

Fallout is the second book in the series. It picks up not long after the first book left off. The story is split between two sets of characters. Half of the chapters follow the survivors from Book 1, while the other half follow a secondary set of survivors who are introduced at the start of the book.

This book has many of the same strengths as the first one, so if you enjoyed the first book, there's a very good chance you'll like the second. Fun characters, good pacing, and plenty of tension and cliffhangers. I still had to suspend my disbelief a little bit in places, but I feel like the same can be said for many if not most zombie stories. Whether or not these teenagers would be that skilled at fending off zombies at close range in real life is largely irrelevant. It makes for an entertaining story, and that's what matters.

I know I'll be picking up Book 3, and if you are a zombie fan, definitely check out this series.

Set one week after the aftermath of Apocalypse we are reunited with the OG gang trying to survive on the farm as well as being introduced to the perspective of other survivors.

"Rotters"/"Zeds"/zombies, you know whatever you want to call them are still out in full force and at this point it is unknown whether they are the only threat or if humans will turn on their own kind in order to survive.

There wasn't as much action in this story which I didn't mind as it more so focuses on the breakdown of humanity and has you question what you would do in certain situations.

Would you help others survive or is it every man for themselves?

This was a great filler for part 3 Chaos which I suspect is where all the action will pick back up!

Side note these aren't standalone so you will need to read them in order to understand whats going on!

Book One: Apocalypse
Book Two: Fallout
Book Three: Chaos (Release TBC)

Stay in the attic to sleep because it’s safe with only one way in.

Robin's Review: This is the second cozy zombie apocalypse book in this series. It picks up a week after where the previous book ended. This is a quick read, but I took it slow because I didn’t want it to end. Luckily the next in the series is due out soon. This book is well written with an interesting and entertaining plot. The characters are well developed, relatable and you could just feel their anxiety. I really enjoyed this book. It is not graphic so it could be for teenagers and up. I highly recommend this series to all ages.

It was my pleasure and privilege to receive a free copy of this book but that does not in any way affect my opinions in this review of this entertaining story.

This is the second book in the series which continues straight on from the events of Apocalypse. We get to meet some new characters as well as developing the old ones. As fast paced as ever and so so gripping! The detail is fantastic and the dialogue between characters continues to delight, despite the horrifying events they have to deal with. Can't wait for the third book!

3.5☆ I'm really enjoying this series, the characters and how these characters deal with these situations.
I like the banter and the jokes and how this book makes me giggle and laugh when characters flirt and joke around.

BUT what I don't like is how the most liked character dies when the romance was only getting started, WHYYY??

A thrilling continuation of the first book, which established the grim and inconceivable reality the students must now face, Fallout fleshes out the already interesting and diverse personalities present. Both quickly blossoming friendships (and maybe more??) and teeth-clenched teamwork are prominent, as the protagonists are forced into new alliances to survive.

This adds an extra element of unease and tension, as no longer do the survivors only have to contend with the endless but mindless Rotters/Zeds, but also the unknown agendas of their fellow humans.

Great read, can't recommend enough!!

Ah, I'm starting to get really attached to these characters, and no one is safe. This is the second installment of Hayley and Laura's teen nightmare, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I feel like we're really digging into the characters now; really getting to know them in-depth, and Luke, Warren, and Ginge are becoming my favs. In this book, the gang is trying to come to terms with their new way of life while Cassie's brother, Fletcher, is out there with his own set of new friends. If you want a fast-paced, gritty read, then try this out!

This story continues to get better with more twists and turns happening throughout. I liked that it goes between what's happening with the group at the farm and what is happening with Fletch. I do not like Ross!

Sometimes it's hard giving reviews on series books because I'm afraid I'll slip a spoiler or something but I can say that even though no real action happened in Fallout I still flew thru it with ease as more alliances are made, more awareness and eye opening is coming about....well for some anyhow, and I'm loving the characters even the ones I despise.

I was a bit sad over one characters demise but we can't realistically save everybody can we? I feel kind of like this is what Fallout was more about in lieu of a bunch of action we get more depth into the characters and I think we needed that because there are quite a few of them.

All About Survival

The Apocalypse series continues as survivors attempt to move forward in a world now overrun by zombies. This second book of the series centers on two groups; one still trapped in the school and the other hiding out at a farm. Both groups are gathering up the courage to venture out and see what they’re dealing with, knowing they can’t hide out forever. This entry to the series gives major Walking Dead vibes, as the main focus is the groups of survivors and how they’re learning to deal with an apocalyptic situation. The rotters (or “Zeds” depending on the group) make sporadic appearances, but this book is more about character development along with new character introductions that will lead to the later entries in the series. There’s some clear foreshadowing when a stranger shows up in each group, and the authors do well to plant the seeds of doubt as to their true intentions (with the epilogue revealing one of them). There are currently seven books in this series, and the authors have done well to keep interest through the first two.

This a great sequel, and feels like a step up from the first book. We get a deeper feel for each of the characters (although the large cast sometimes gets mixed up in my head), and the different POVs really bring the story to life and create good tension. We get two different groups striving to survive, and learn more about how the apocalypse is affecting the town, which builds well on the first installment.

I'm intrigued by the growing tensions within our main group, which I hope will be explored even more in the next book, and the epilogue has really hooked me and makes me want to know what happens next.

Definitely enjoying this addictive zombie read.
I feel like I’m watching a tv drama and I don’t know about others but I honestly love all the different characters and POV’s. I think there needs to be a lot in a read/series like this because not everyone is going to make it. Probably lots are going to die and I like this set up for the series.

I’m patiently waiting for brother and sister to reunite, it will tear me up if they don’t especially because of course they just missed each other when she went looking for him.. I was yelling with the younger brother to try and get her attention like girl! Look up a little! Damn.

Overall really enjoying the series so far!

I enjoyed this book a lot. I loved seeing the kids working together to try to figure out things in this book.

Also the conflicts happening felt real and the relationships felt real.

Things become really complicated when you have to navigate a zombie apocalypse and still function as a group. Plus, it's difficult to know who to trust and who might throw you to the wolves.

I do like how this series keeps ending with a new character in the epilogues. It helps build intrigue for the next book and keeps me wanting to know more.

The second instalment after book number 1 - Apocalypse! I am loving these although left it a bit long in between them as had forgotten who a few of the characters were. It all came back to me and makes my walking dead loving heart very happy!
It’s a shame they are very short and not all together in one book but that also means I can read them when I have a spare couple of days in between other reads!
Brilliant ending which definitely makes you want to know what happens next!!

i enjoyed this better than the 1st book. we're learning about the characters a bit more and shit's starting to hit the fan. after every new chapter, i'm kept on edge. 7/10 tension.

-i'm also so sad that nora died. lit fell to my knees at that part. she was such a strong female character.
-ross is a POS and we hate him! he makes a good villain though.
-it's understandable why luke is so anal and on edge but bro really needs to take a chill pill bc he's giving dictator on-the-rise vibes :p

Just like the first book, this book has different groups and multiple POVs but I felt like this book was easier to keep up with and differentiate who was who better. This book was well paced, suspenseful, and very emotional in some parts.
