Edna Staebler's friendly cookbooks, FOOD THAT REALLY SCHMECKS, MORE FOOD THAT REALLY SCHMECKS, and SCHMECKS APPEAL, have delighted half a million readers with their schmecksy (tasty) food and entertaining comments. Her recipes from her Mennonite neighbors, her family, and her friends, as well as her own creations, are easy, economical, and inventive ways to turn everyday, Canadian-grown ingredients into delicious and nutritious dishes. Now you no longer have to ask which of the three Schmecks books contains a certain recipe. In the Schmecks Appeal Cookbook Series, all the pies are in one volume, the meats in another, and so on. Each book also contains new recipes, stories, and menu suggestions. From Soups and Salads to Desserts, this series has it all. In this volume on vegetables, you will find side dishes to main courses, with colorful, mouthwatering, healthy recipes for everything from asparagus to zucchini. Edna Staebler, an award-winning journalist, lives in Mennonite country north of Waterloo, Ontario, where she reads, swims, knits, and feeds wild birds, her two cats, and her many friends.
