Everyone has skeletons in their closet, but Rain's are learning to open the door.
Rain's lost everything in the last decade. Her grandmother, her brother, and her family home might be next. All she has is Graham - a powerful Fae who illegally escaped the Fae Realm and has been her best friend ever since.
Until Ezra - the sexiest Vampire she's ever seen - commissions her for one hell of a job. Cleansing dozens of vengeful spirits from an abandoned mansion for a life changing amount of money.
All Rain wants is to focus on her budding relationship with Ezra, but the ghosts in the mansion have awoken the ones Rain has spent a decade trying to keep locked up.
But Rain isn't the only one with secrets. Ezra has a few of his own.
This is an MMFM paranormal romance reverse harem. Rain has 3 hotter than hell love interests, and she does not choose between them.
Raven's Cry is set in the same world as Charlie's other series, Eluding Destiny, The Arcane Gods, and Celena's Story. It follows the lore established in the Origins of the Gods series as well. But you do not need to read any of those to understand this series.
I had the opportunity to read this book before it was officially released. I’m very thankful that the author shared this opportunity with me. With that said, this book has some pros and some cons. I’ll lay those out below:
Pros: - It is very easy to read this book. I managed to read it in three days, even with two children around me during the day and a job. - I find the male characters in the book very likable. - I believe this is a good representation of polyamory and the LGBTQ+ community - The author clearly did at least basic research on the concepts included within the text. This includes some mythology, some magical practices, and fair folk. - There are different dynamics between each of the characters in the book, so in that way, it never gets old. - This book includes many different supernatural creatures, and I really like that.
Cons: - Some of the writing style is fairly simplistic. Although I enjoyed much of the plot, I found the abundance of sentence fragments a bit trying. However, as I am both an author and an English teacher, this may be more of my own issue than the author’s. - I didn’t connect strongly with the main character. I felt like all of Rain‘s love interests were more developed than her. For me, she came across a bit whiny at times. Also, while I appreciate a woman with backbone and no shame in her sexual desires, sometimes it seemed like that was the only thing that she was interested in. - The process of removing the ghosts from the home felt more like an afterthought. I wish the author had included more details on the actual ritual such as which herbs were being used, what the incantation was, and how specifically it helped spirits crossover. - The author stated at the beginning of the book that this was a romance story which would function very much in the same way without any sex. It is a romance story; however, I don’t believe that the story would function the same without the sex. The physical intimacy between characters helps develop the plot and leads to important discussions about jealousy and polyamory. So, in that way I believe the earlier statement to be untrue. - Sometimes the transition into the sex scenes felt a bit jarring to me. In one moment, the characters were being cute and getting to know each other. Then in the next moment, there would be sex. I don’t mind sex in books at all, but it caught me off guard.
Overall, I’m not disappointed to have read this book. It ends in a significant cliffhanger and I would love to have more answers. I probably won’t read it again, but I would recommend it for someone looking for a polyamorous/reverse harem supernatural romance novel. I give it three stars because it feels average to me, nothing terrible and nothing absolutely extraordinary. I hope this helps!

Full disclosure: I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review, all my thoughts are my own.
A great first installation, this series promises to be dark, interesting, and fun.
The lore feels well established and grounded, if a smidge complex (finding out there’s other works in this Universe was a high point!), and I enjoyed the treatment of magic and magical beings.
The characters are well written, with enough tension that you can feel the relationships play against each other.
The plot is well rounded and leaves enough mystery for future books to be appealing. While the future plot goals feel clearly stated the whys, wherefores, and who the hell actually is, generate enough curiosity that I will not only be reading the next book - I’ll be applying to ARC it as well. 😂
Now for the cons (there aren’t many but I believe in balance) * Some of the phrasing annoys me, repetitive use of some words but overall that’s a personal thing. (Like the word ‘cussing’ and characters repeating exact phrases like “lose my number” in the same conversation, etc) * I’d prefer this book be twice as long and come to a *really* satisfying ending instead of the book one finishing at a midpoint/not quite cliffhanger portion of the broader story but again, I’m a fan of massive books and this one isn’t slim at 90ish thousand words.
Overall: A very fun and easy to read book, with a healthy dose of spice rolled in and extensive world histories.
I’ve been following this author on TikTok for a while, so when she offered me an ARC of her latest Rh paranormal romance I was really excited. I was in need of a bit of a change of pace and this book definitely worked for me. After I finished it I was so ready for the next book 😩 and I found myself days and days later still thinking about it and wanting to return to the world. Probably a sign that your girl really needs to pick of my PNR. Our FMC is a witch struggling to keep a roof over her head and food on the table. She lives with her best friend of over a decade, a fae named Graham. The story really kicks off when a Vampire named Ezra hires her to cleanse a home of angry spirits. I loved the characters, and I can’t wait for more of them. I have a feeling Warren might be my favorite but who knows.
I received this book as an ARC but all thoughts expressed are my own I love the building of the relationships and the mystery. It was a little confusing at times but overall a great read! I really enjoy when books bring in different mythologies and when they do it well, which this author has. Can’t wait for the next installment of the series!
I had the pleasure of receiving an ARC of "Raven's Cry" by Charlie Nottingham, and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
As an avid fan of paranormal romance, especially when infused with MM elements, this book hit all the right notes for me. Nottingham's writing is not only skillful but also tantalizingly spicy, delivering a perfect blend of romance and intrigue. From the outset, I found myself enamored with the trio of protagonists: the sensitive Ezra, the sarcastic Graham, and the enigmatic Warren. While Warren's character could use a tad more fleshing out, I'm eager to uncover more about him in subsequent installments.
I particularly appreciated the nods to various mythologies and religions throughout the narrative, adding layers of depth to the story. Though there were a few recurring phrases that felt slightly overused, they didn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the reading experience.
What sets "Raven's Cry" apart is its well-crafted plot, which keeps readers engaged as they piece together clues and anticipate what might come next. The slow-burning romance only adds to the allure, gradually unfolding and tugging at the heartstrings.
In summary, "Raven's Cry" is a captivating start to what promises to be an enthralling series. Charlie Nottingham has crafted a tale that grips readers from the outset and leaves them eagerly awaiting the next chapter in Ezra, Graham, and Warren's journey.
I'm not going to rate this one just because I only made it to the 20% mark on this book. I try to figure out if a book is my cup of tea as quickly as possible, and this one was tough. The writing was good and I definitely felt like I could really like this one, but I couldn't really get into the books plot. I also am very picky when it comes to RH, I love them, but it bothers me when some of the men in the relationship are already an item (I mean theres just so much history for the couple already in a relationship). I know its crazy, if m/m get together once the new open relationship has started that's one thing, but it feels to much like cheating/not giving the Female lead the main attention. I'm a total fan of m/m relationships I just find it tough to pull off a committed m/m romance and then add in a female character.
I took me a while to finish this book😅 I took a big break in the middle because I was angry about Rain too much accepting and naive behaviour and Ezra's "little" omissions.
Now, as expected, the last part is a mess and I came to dislike more and more Ezra. I don't like Warren as well... Rain is way too much forgiving and blinded by her feelings. I felt sorry for Graham but he just changed his mind in an eye blink at the end🧐 Not very consistent...
We didn't get many information about the woman in blakc and her schemes so I lost interest in the plot...a minimum is required to keep readers captivated, no?
My very first ARC! I was so happy to read this book to shake things up from my usual books i read. I have not read any of the authors other books, so i was going in very open minded. I loved this book it had me glued until the very end. I absolutely can’t wait for the second book. I need to know more!!! I wont give away spoilers but this may end up on my read read list i have.
I received this book as an ARC from the author in an exchange for an honest review, all thoughts are my own.
I finished this book in a day because I couldn't convince myself to put it down. That being said I do have mixed feelings about it. This book is a spicy supernatural/vampire romance novel - the characters are lovable, the plot is interesting, and it's an incredibly easy read, no reading slumps will be found in this book.
That being said, my biggest hang up was the writing style and the execution of the plot. I think the writing could use some refinement, there were often moments where the writing would pull me out of story, distracting me from the book as I'd be focused on the sentences - for example some phrases are repeated multiple times in the same conversation and it felt very repetative. My mixed feelings about the plot are 100% due to personal preference rather than the book itself. I found the romance rushed, there wasn't a lot of build up and it time jumped forward two months which I personally wish it hadn't because I like following the development of a relationship. Additionally, even though I'm a sucker for romance I was wishing there was more balance between the romance and the supernatural aspect of the plot - it tips heavily in favour of the romance storyline and the supernatural is secondary. I honestly wish the book had've been longer because it would've allowed the story to flush out more thoroughly (and the book is super entertaining, who wouldn't want more?).
Overall though I did really enjoy the book! I was consumed by wanting to finish the book as fast as possible, and I will be eagerly awaiting the second book!
Rain and Graham, Best friends, we are struggling to keep a roof over their heads, food on the table and to keep their car running until a friend of her grandmother's shows up with the job of a lifetime for them both. Rain can't fight the attraction she has to Ezra, but Graham is realizing too late that he has stronger feelings for his friend than he thought. Rain is struggling with past traumas, nightmares of birds "ravens," not to mention she keeps seeing more and more signs and omens into her future she just can't seem to escape from.
The more Rain helps Ezra and his partner, the more she learns about her gifts and builds a relationship with Erza. Can Rain accept all the changes her life is about to take with Ezra, his partner, and Graham?
I adored Rain's relationships with each of these men, from the comfort of feeling like home, a person to not only that listens but takes care of her without judgment and a man who has shown her truth and brought her life.
I was lucky to sign up for an ARC review and this is my honest opinion.
I enjoyed reading this book as the story flowed really well. The characters are great in my opinion. Rain is a strong and independent woman, who can make her own decisions, who values family, friendship and most importantly love. She is trying to make her life work after a lot of hardships and loss.
Ezra, Graham and Warren complement each other, and if you would put them together, make the ideal and perfect man. They all have their own qualities, but their main priority is Rain, protecting her and even loving her which is their common goal.
I enjoyed the suspence, trying to figure out who the woman in black is and the meaning of the Raven.
Truly enjoyed it, but the only minor thing for me was that there wasn't enough spicy scenes. .
All in all I gave this book 5 🌟 as I truly enjoyed it and read it in two days with real life getting in the way! I would definitely recommend and can't wait for part two!
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book! I found the pacing of the story easily kept me drawn in and the plot moving forward.
Since the story is set in “the real world” there wasn’t a need for a ton of world building, however I enjoyed how the author built the supernatural world into the “real world”. I also really loved all of the references to mythology from various cultures and how each myth seems to tell the same story just in a different language.
This was a great first book into a series. There is just enough to keep us interested as readers, without overwhelming us with information.
I love all of the characters we have met so far and you can really see how they are being set up to move forward into the series. I think the back stories of each male character has been really thought out and it starting to come together. I am excited to learn more about the guys. I do feel like Rain, our main female character, can sometimes feel a bit flat. I do hope as the story progresses we get more of her story as well.
I also have to say the author does a wonderful job at LBGTQ+ representation in the book as well. Including the struggles and stigma that is often still very much apart of our everyday lives.
I have so many questions and theories and I am in general excited to get more of this world.
Full disclosure, I got this book as an ARC, all these views are my own.
Absolutely loved this book. The dates in the beginning are so wholesome and adorable. I've fallen in love with each character. The world building here is interesting and introduced to us slowly and seamlessly. I usually get bored with the descriptive parts like that, but found myself loving the detail and parts of the history. The only thing I want to change about this book is I wish it was twice as long! It didnt really end on a cliffhanger which i loved, i felt like there was enough closure for me not to feel irritated that i finished it. Theres a lot more to this story but it doesnt leave you heartbroken or angry that there isnt another chapter. Definitely can't wait to see how the rest of this series pans out!!!
I had a really great time reading my first ARC as an adult! I really enjoyed how natural everything in the world felt, especially the dialogue. The 1st person multi POV was pretty easy to follow too, which was excellent. There was a good amount of spice, really interesting blend of lore and cultures, and I’ve never read a poly romance before, but I’m LIVING for it! I’m super curious to see where the story goes, and what more we can expect from the world building. She left us at just the right about of closure at the end of book one that leaves you wanting the next one!
(And for whatever reason, even though they mentioned it being set in Minnesota, I got wicked Louisiana vibes 🤷🏻♀️ on this point though, there were a few weird spellings that seem like they might be the UK version of some US words?)
I got this as an ARC but this is my first book I’ve read by Charlie Nottingham and she did not disappoint!! I love the characters that she has built up Graham is just the best and I can’t wait for more of him and Rain! I love that you get so much back story not only for Rain but also Graham and Ezra. The small moments of back and forth between Ezra and Warren are so sweet, sassy, and wrought with sexual overtones that I adore it and them. I can’t wait til it’s them and Rain!!! Ok enough on the love dynamic. Not only does this story have all of that going on but there’s the lady in black…and the ravens….and all of the mystery and intrigue surrounding the story of it. I truly hate cliffhangers but Charlie gave enough of a HEA that I’m appeased 😆 but at the same time she left me wanting so much more to know how the 4 of them are together and what’s next… Definitely a need to read!

This is an ARC review. I must say, I love this book and can't wait to see where the next one goes. With a lot of books, I can guess where things are going, but this one kept me asking what was going to be revealed next. The relationship dynamics were accurately described as in real life; it's not all sunshine and rainbows, and everyone just accepts each other. This was my first book by this author, and I will definitely be checking out other ones.
Couldn't put it down! I received this book as an ARC and I absolutely loved it. This book is not only spicy but it has an amazing plot that pulled me in, with multiple secrets and a mysterious being that kept me reading and questioning. With a point of view of 4 different people, it's a great read. The ending leaves you in suspense for the next book in the series.
Even though this book series takes place in the same world as her other books you don't have to read them to understand what's going on. Her other books are on my lengthy trb, but I haven't had a chance to read. I didn't feel like I was missing out or confused about anything. Definitely can read without reading her other books first.
Received this book as an ARC and started it at 9am. Finished reading it at 8pm the same day. Really enjoyed the characters and development of the story but I'm mad that I now need to wait for book two. If you're looking for a reverse harem that has good development of characters, an interesting plot that I'm actually interested in seeing where it goes. It was a good book 1 that let me get to know the characters without having too many crazy twists. Rain is an interesting MC without being too Mary Sue, Graham gives an interesting character who knows her history without it having to be an actual family member, Ezra and Warren both being Vampires are both interesting with having other things going on other than them just being vamps. I want to know more but I'm also happy with what I know.

ARC Review Lordddddd help me if Charlie Nottingham doesn’t get the next book out like yesterday!! I wasn’t sure what I signed up for when I found her on Tiktok; but DAMN am I GLAD!!! She’s got a perfect balance of romance(with good 🌶🌶🥵 details) and storyline. I wish there was more to this book! I can’t believe I tore through it as fast as I did. I have so many questions, what did the Demon do to Jake? Is Jake really dead, What is The Woman in Black; is she really a banshee, and what does it mean what Warren Is Rain’s raven??

I received this book as an ARC from the author in an exchange for an honest review, all thoughts are my own. I really liked this book and I am looking forward to seeing what is next for Rain and her guys in this series. This book has paranormal RH and I love that you get the different characters point of views in separate chapters. Theres mystery, action, spice and twists in the story that you dont expect which makes it a great read. I couldnt put it down wanting to know what happened and I finished it in one day.
I received this book as an ARC and I was really impressed. I couldn’t put it down, I had to finish it. The world building is great, amazing characters, I loved how it portrayed the lgbt characters and the struggles of the lifestyle. I was a little confused on how it will all work out in the end but it was very sweet. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Full disclosure: I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this book! I went into it almost completely blind and I’m so glad that I did! The characters were relatable and fun to get to know, the plot was strong, and the book was easy to read. The POV switches weren’t confusing at all, either. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
I received the book from the author for an honest review. I really loved the characters. I felt like this book was a great blend of romance, but still having a plot to drive the story. The world building was unique and I liked the blend of the supernaturals. Can’t wait for book 2!
I received an ARC copy of this and binged it immediately, and that alone should speak to how good this book was.
Let me start off by saying that this may be listed as reverse harem, but polyamory is what it really is. Both the MC, Rain, and two of her love interests have other relationships that are separate. Unlike other books that I have read, this one doesn't use polyamory as a cheap gimmick, and it's not written as something that any of the characters are forced into either.
The plot of this is relatively basic so far, but there's only so much that you can fit into the first book of a series, so I get it. I do like that the overall plot is something new and intriguing to me. However, I was a little disappointed that some of the mysteries of the characters were revealed so early on in the series. I had expected Warren's secret to have been a mystery until at least book 2.
I'm hopeful that there will be more content to the next book, as I'm excited to see where this goes but I want more than a straight forward plot with easy answers.

I devoured this book! Rain carries a lot of baggage, but I'm ready to her be even more badass in book 2!!
Graham 🥰🥰🥰 omg, he is THE best. (Honestly, he reminds me of my husband 😏) he is all about Rain. Everything is for her 💗💗💗 thier scene 🥵🥰 iykyk
Ezra, sweet sweet Ezra. I'm usually a sucker for the dark brooding type, but this vamp is making me change lanes 🥰
Theeeennnn Warren...I'm hoping the next book really brings him to us. We don't know much about him yet. But damn what I do know 😏
This book focused a lot on the relationships of the characters with little hints of a deeper story here and there. I LOVED it. I'm excited to see these 4 move together into the next book (which I happily have an ARC for 😉)
This book does have some dark emelements, so make sure to check you trigger warnings.
**I received a free advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**
Okay, quick synopsis: Rain is a witch who lives with her best friend Graham, who is an exceptionally powerful fae. Graham has to stay under the radar so he is not caught by the Angels (enemies to the Fae), so works as Rain's "secretary." They're pretty much broke, because of the aforementioned need for Graham to stay hidden and Rain's lack of a reputation as a witch, since she has not joined a coven since the death of her fairly famous Gran.
Enter Ezra, an extremely polite, respectful, and sweet vampire who hires Rain to do a cleansing (getting rid of several dozen ghosts) of a house belonging to his business partner, Warren (also a vampire). There is instant attraction between Ezra and Rain, who start dating early in the book. There is 15 years' worth of attraction between Graham and Rain that hasn't been acted on because they value their friendship too much. Oh, and Ezra and Warren aren't just business partners. They're partners. Of 85 years.
Lots of relationship drama ensues, as one can imagine.
And throughout all of the love-angles, there is a mysterious woman in black and countless ravens protecting Rain and guiding her towards something ... as well as all three guys. "You need them all," she tells Rain, though she won't tell her why. Only that everything will become clear in time.
So, now that you know the set-up, here are my thoughts:
Overall, I enjoyed this read. I do feel like the world-building was lacking a bit. We find out early on that there are witches, vampires, werewolves, fae, angels, and guardians in this modern-day world (the story is set in Minnesota), and we get the idea that they have to stay under the radar from the humans to some extent, but we don't ever really get a clear answer on why they have to stay hidden, or what will happen to them if they don't. We know the angels and the fae don't get along, but again, we don't get a whole lot of info on why that is. Basically, we get the basic bones of the world without it getting good and fleshed out. I'm hoping that some of those blanks get filled in later on in the series, because I like what the author hints at. There's a lot of potential in this world, and I'd hate for it to be lost.
**EDIT** Apparently, there are several other books this author has written within this same universe, so it may be a lot of the worldbuilding has already been established. However, as I mention below, this was my first read by this author, so at times I felt a bit lost.
The characters were enjoyable, and the dynamics between them were interesting for the most part. My favorite was the relationship between Rain and Graham. It was the most developed, in my opinion, and it rang the truest. It was easy to relate to their longstanding friendship, as well as their ongoing fight to deny the attraction between them. The relationship between Rain and Ezra did not feel as organic; for me, it felt a bit forced. Ezra has all the makings of a "too good to be true" Prince Charming, which is all well and good, until you discover the fatal flaw that blows that ideal to hell; that flaw is necessary, because nobody is that perfect. Unfortunately, Ezra's only "flaw" is that he's a bisexual man who engages in polyamory, and does not disclose that to Rain at the beginning of their relationship; that has the potential to be a major red flag, except that it's Rain who insists she's not looking for a relationship, only some dating and some sex, and she's not interested in hearing about anyone else Ezra sees romantically, as long as he doesn't put her health at risk. So when she ultimately finds out about Warren, she gets pissed at Ezra for lying to her, when he was only taking her at her word. And when she gets pissed at him and tells him to lose her number, he is heartbroken and weepy (think Romeo pining after Rosamund at the beginning of Shakespeare's tragedy). It all just rings a bit false. Now, granted, I've never been a bisexual man in a polyamorous relationship, so perhaps its not my place to say that's not how a person would act in that situation. But there was just something about Ezra, and his relationship with Rain, that didn't convince me. His relationship with Warren was much more believable, and I was much more invested in it, despite Warren only being around for about the last quarter of the book.
The writing was solid; no major grammatical issues that took me out of immersion. It flowed well, the dialogue was pretty good, etc. No major complaints there. Only thing I noticed in my ARC was that there were some chapters (which were labeled by the name of the character whose POV we were getting) where you'd get the the character's name followed by (CONFLICT), and it was a complete, word-for-word repeat of the previous chapter. Not sure what the point of that was, and I'm hoping it's just a formatting thing the author will fix before the final book becomes available for purchase. Didn't cause a huge problem for me, overall; I just skipped ahead to the next chapter. However, it's definitely an issue I feel the author should address, because I can see it being a turn-off for a lot of readers.
This was my first read by Charlie Nottingham; overall, I was pleased. Though the book had its share of issues, none was so poorly done that it kept me from wanting to know what happened next. I was fully invested in the story, and I will definitely read the rest of this series, because I'm extremely curious about the baddie who's been lurking in the shadows throughout the first installment. I want to know who he is, and I want to know what he wants. I'm also extremely interested to see Rain and Warren's relationship develop; it's only hinted at in book 1, and I'm very intrigued by Warren's character. I want to know more about him.
Solid 4/5 stars. Would recommend for anyone looking for a good fantasy read featuring a polyamorous (MMFM) relationship dynamic.
