An insightful book on how to discover the power in your dreams. There are some mornings I wake up and feel like I have been busy as fifty all night long and I wonder if I’ll have the energy to get through the day. I read Ms. Fey’s book to try to figure out how to best utilize all of my dreaming. If I am going to be that busy, I want to better understand the whys and what fors.

In the book, she includes fascinating stories of dreams from her own, to celebrities and clients that helped me to better understand how to work with my own. She shares on dream premonition as well. I have had a reoccurring dream since high school and I hope it does not come true.

I loved the chapter on important messages from deceased relatives. I helped my mom find her home after her grandmother came to her in a dream and described the lobby of the apartment building. I have started asking several of my deceased loved ones to come to me in my dreams to comfort me and to help me solve work, life, family, and health problems.

This book is chockablock full of good information. If you are like me you will be referring to it again and again.

Loved this book. It was most definitely about dreams but also dived into so much more. All the beautiful meditations and teachings were so helpful and I am sure I will be referring back to this book often. Samantha is a gifted writer and I’m grateful for her expertise and encouragement.

A beautifully written book on the power of our dreams. I love the layout of the book which includes information and research on dreams, practical steps to connect to your dreams, and meditations to take you through the night. It’s been a long time since I felt sad finishing a book-sad because the book was over. This is one of the books I know I’ll go back to over and over again.

The Awake Dreamer is more than just a book about dreams. It will likely become one of those books I recommend to people who want to dip their toes into the metaphysical and mystical worlds but don’t know where to start. There is a good mix of information on a variety of different topics from spirit guides to life after death to ghosts, all with the background of dreams acting as a thread connecting them together, making them more palatable for skeptics out there.

I am a very casual listener of Samantha Fey’s podcasts extending back over a decade (when they used to start each episode with a tarot card, animal, and crystal of the week), so I was loosely aware of her beliefs and her experiences. She is someone who is genuine with the personal antidotes to back up what she writes about, coming from a place of both experience and research.

In fact, I learned about this book while listening to one of her podcasts where she related that originally she had written this book as a memoir. Not to take away from The Awake Dreamer, but I do think I would have preferred a personal telling of her life up to this point. Although the information she brings to this book is interesting, it is her personal life stories that really make this book engaging and worth the read.

I hope that this book will be a stepping-off point for more to come. Samantha is a talented writer who knows how to connect with her readers on a personal level.

I’m open to unproven paranormal/spiritual ideas, but this was much more..”spiritual” than scientific/informative. The author mentions fictional works to substantiate paranormal experiences, and warns dreamers about secubi, or sex demons. Many biblical ideas and practices are expressed, particularly the existence of angels. The parts of the book I found interesting paraphrased or discussed other, more valuable author’s legitimate research, such as Stephen LaBarge, Jung, etc. The bulk of the book is made up of personal anecdotal stories, that come across as exaggerated, if not fabricated altogether.

I feel disappointed in this book. It says “A Guide to Lucid Dreaming, Astral Travel, and Mastering the Dreamscape”, but I don’t feel that’s what it delivers. It did have some good content, but some of the information was a bit repetitive especially towards the end. It felt more like a collection of personal anecdotes, stories about people’s dreams, and her spirituality. I understand the use of examples, and how these are connected to the ideas she talks about, but there’s a lot of stories and I feel like they don’t necessarily add anything. I was expecting more of a guide

Amazing book about where we go when we sleep. I definitely recommend Samantha Fey’s book, “TheAwakeDreamer” and podcast “Psychic Teachers” which I love! This book contains so much information to help us connect to our guides/loved ones/angels, understand our dream world, and so much more. I really enjoyed the guided meditations and her recommendations. I’d give this book ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I loved reading about the different types of dreams. It was deeply insightful and inspiring. I liked the conversational tone of the book. It has many examples of amazing dreams that people have had. I don't believe everything in the book- I found a few things a bit creepy- but most things were very inspiring and positive. It's also interesting to note that the author is Christian. I learned many new things about dreams from this book.

This is a thorough book about all things related to dreams, connecting with passed loved ones, spirituality, and how we are all connected. Each chapter has an exercise (meditation, journaling, etc) for you to do to strengthen whatever topic the chapter was about. There's a little bit of repetition as far as the stories, and I took the repetition as emphasis for the information she provided

Ehhhhh maybe this was targeted for people who had never even heard of lucid dreaming? Idk. Was extremely boring when trying for educational. There were some interesting anecdotes, but they ultimately didn’t do enough to keep it intriguing. Cover is gorgeous though!

This was mainly anecdotal but still really interesting. I plan on rereading and annotating the parts that most resonate with me. I like that there were exercises and action items at the end of every chapter.

I don't typically award five-star ratings often, but this book truly left me contemplating. I initially borrowed it from the library, but I'm strongly considering acquiring my own copy in the near future, as well as an audio version to include in my collection.

2.5 stars, rounded down

This book has got some neat concepts, and I really like that each chapter has an exercise at the end. However, the book as a whole was pretty meh for me. The podcast is way more interesting.

My bestie gifted this book to me for my bday and it was such a comforting read, especially after experiencing a loss. I’ve always known that dreams are much more than just dreams but this book solidified it. I’m now much more comfortable and accepting of what my dreams may have to offer me and delving into dream practices

Falls into the common problems of most modern metaphysical books on dreamwork: beginner-level, effusive, anecdotal, and lacking any real substance or techniques.
