If Static wants to liberate the imprisoned Bang Babies of Dakota, he’s going to have to turn them into an army…and unfortunately for him, he’s also going to have to fight alongside-and even worse, trust-the jerk who tried to burn down his Hotstreak!
So one thing I've really struggled with throughout this “season” is there are a lot of really messy, super busy, pages, where its almost impossible to know what's going on. I can't say the art is bad, because it's not, it's pretty good — there's a very manga look about it. But it's just layed out, or drawn, in a really chaotic way, that it's just pages of nothingness, and you literally have no idea what you're meant to be looking at.
A slightly disappointing "ending" to the first Season but I really enjoyed Static's announcement over TV which nicely sets up the feel and purpose of this title going forward.
I freaking loved this! Static was my fav superhero back in the day because duh he's young, black, smart, and just an all around good guy. This reboot, reimagining, whatever you wanna call it, is great. I appreciate how it stays true to the original while also being relevant.
I see that this is part of DC’s relaunch of Milestone and I’m pretty excited about it. Can't wait to read the other comics. Also, I'm ready for season two already!
Just finished the entire miniseries. Amazing reintroduction to my favorite superhero with soulful characters, an imaginative yet relevant storyline, a fresh yet familiar Virgil Hawkins. And Nikolas Draper-Ivey killed the art, bravo, sir!
Virgil is the embodiment of that entire statement. I'm so glad to see him back and in capable hands who understand him writing his story. The art is fantastic
