Welcome back to Sugarloaf Ridge, where secrets and lies are bound to make their way out
You will need to have read Sugarloaf Ridge Secrets first to get the best out of this story.
I wanted to know more about Jerry from the minute I met him in book 1, and I was not disappointed in him at all.
I didn't really connect with Liv though. There is nothing wrong with her, she is a fine character and all, so maybe this was just me.
I got all the small town feels - having done the tree change myself I get the small-mindedness, cliquiness and b!tchiness that comes with being the "interloper" into a small town
And don't get me started on Penny - that woman deserves something unpleasant to happen to her!
Loved the friendships that Liv makes and how the bring embrace her into their lives
Jerry is just amazing and we all need one of our own.
I enjoyed this next instalment from Sugarloaf Ridge. Jerry was a character that I wanted to get to know after all that happened in book one. I would not suggest reading these out of order by the way - best read in order as there are too many interconnected plot points that need to be read the right way.
I don't know that I connected that well Liv, or really trusted her that much tbh, but I did love Jerry and uncovering all the things that made him tick, and how everything fit in with what already knew of him. I really despised Penny. But I adored all the others. There's a lot about family truths and lies and connections in this book (and series really) and I enjoyed how it all came together.
I would've liked a bit more of that ending that we got, but all in all the book wrapped up really well and I was holding back tears. Would recommend and would love more from this world.
Wow, where to start with this book. How about the glorious cover that I want on my bookshelf. We know this town if you've read 'Sugarloaf Ridge Secrets' It was like coming home. The characters are all warm and wonderful and so Aussie...like me. This is such a beautifully written tale of second chances, love, life and not to forget secrets. Jerry's whole life is one big secret and he needed someone like Liv, the towns new school teacher. He had some growing up to do, and yet secrets were eating away at him. Liv had her own secret and needed to time to sort out her own life. Her baggage was heart breaking, she deserves a happy life. I really love this author's stories, so warm and easy to read. I highly recommend this story and better yet try both of them.
I cannot speak highly enough of this amazing, beautiful book. The characters, the scenery. It's like a movie playing out in your mind while you read. Jennifer has so much talent emersing you into this gorgeous small town. I'm praying we will get to go back to Sugarloaf Ridge in the future and spend some more time with this beautiful town.
It's been a long time between reads for me, so it was an absolute pleasure to withdraw from the world and sink into a Jennifer Ryder romance. I’ve read everything this author has written and her quality for storytelling has never wavered. Sugarloaf Ridge Lies has every delicious morsel one could want in a small-town country romance. Liv is perfectly sweet while Jerry has that delicious combination of a little bit bad and a whole lotta good. His backstory is intriguing and you will need to start with Sugarloaf Ridge Secrets to help tie everything together. The story is not a smooth path for Liv and Jerry, but whoever wanted smooth anyways? When I say this country romance has it all, I mean it. It’s got all the swooning, all the sweetness and all the highs and lows that will help you escape from reality, if only for a little while. Thank you for entrusting me with an advanced copy JR, and congratulations on another beautiful book.
Sugarloaf Ridge lies is the second book in the series and tells the story of Jerico the main hero's brother of the first story in the series. He was a character that I was really intrigued about in Sugarloaf Ridge Secrets. I was very excited to read more about this character and really enjoyed this story. I really liked Liv and Jerry together and found they really complement one another. I loved the small town romance vibe of this story and could not get enough of it once I started reading.
Liv was a sweet character that I really enjoyed reading about in the story. I found she was a really caring character that really looked after everyone.
Jerico also known as Jerry was perceived by the town as the bad boy but underneath it all he was a really loving guy that was protective of the ones he loved.
This story was a really sweet read that had all the emotions. There were some moments in the story that I did not expect making it more intriguing.
I really enjoyed this book much more than the first one. It was quick paced with a great story and fun loyal characters. Jerry has many secrets, some the town helps keep and some he keeps to himself. When he meets the new teacher in town,Liv he is suddenly smitten. Liv has her own set of secrets that keep coming. Can these two get past all their crazy secrets to have something real? Something that can last forever? Between the small town gossip, family drama and the fun banter between Jerry and Liv this was a very entertaining read. I can’t Wait to see what this author comes up with next.
I did read Sugarloaf Ridge Secrets before this book, and I am glad I did, but I have to say this new to me author wrote a heartwarming tale that takes place in the Australian Outback. The mystery and secrets woven throughout the books do not detract from the sweet romance. This story is Jericho's story, and he's such a sweet cinnamon roll of a guy. You cannot help but love him from the beginning. Liv, the new teacher, is sweet, and she needs the small town kindness of Sugarloaf along with meeting the quietly strong Jerry.
Their romance is a bit of a roller coaster sometimes, but the author manages to temper the angst, so it is not overwhelming. Too much angst just makes me anxious; however, the author helps our H and h resolve it before it overpowers the story. Sugarloaf Ridge Lies was long enough to provide a well-thought-out story and a satisfying ending. I would like to read more stories about this interesting family in Australia.
This book hooked me from the get go. You will get swept up in Liv & Jerry’s whirlwind romance. This book was impossible to put down, it engulfs you and drags you into the characters lives. What a story! I LOVED everything about this book; the banter, the friendship, the swoon-worthy moments and the heartbreak. Be prepared to have your heart strings pulled and even have a tear or two in your eyes.
Jennifer has done it again. A beautifully written story that captivated me from the very start until the end. She is the queen of small town stories. I couldn’t put Liv and Jerry’s story down. What a journey I was on. Secrets, falling in love, sexy times and it’s swoon worthy. At times I was frustrated with Liv. I just wanted her to share her secrets and let Jerry in. This is an incredible story that I highly recommend to everyone. This series has become one of my all time favourite’s. I can’t wait to read more from this talented Aussie author.
Jerry and Liv feel like real people, living a life filled with true humanity. I enjoyed the story, seeing how our couple journey through finding their connection and living past missteps.
This book is not set in my home country, so at times I didn’t understand some of the cultural differences. This didn’t really take away from the story at all. In fact I felt like I was broadening my awareness. Haha.
Overall this is a good read with a lot going on. It delves into unplanned pregnancy, adoption, abuse, and so much more. I thought all these elements were explored in thoughtful way.
Sugarloaf Ridge Lies is the long awaited book by Jennifer Ryder that can be read as a standalone but is better off read after Sugarloaf Ridge Secrets.
This is the beautiful telling of Jerry and Liv’s stories. Jerry has had to grow up with a mountain of secrets, that if found out, would cripple his family. But when he meets Liv, he knows that she’s something special.
Liv, or Olive, recently moved to Sugarloaf Ridge to be a first grade teacher. She has always struggled to find herself and what she would be great at doing. Now, she knows that her passion is teaching. When she meets Jerry, she sees something in him and their connection is nearly instantaneous. The chemistry between Liv and Jerry just leaps off the pages of this book.
There are twists and turns in this book that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could. I loved it and definitely shed a few tears along the way as well!
Jericho is a farmer who has a bad reputation which has led to him keeping to himself. Liv is new in town for a fresh start, and is a teacher, who holds herself responsible for a tragedy, and she is determined to make a difference in the future and move on with her life. Liv sees beyond the towns gossip and sees a shy, lonely man with a kind heart. These two complement each other perfectly, but can they heal each other? This is a well written small town romance story, with family, trauma, trust, secrets, 2nd chances, and love, which leads to a poignant page turner. I received a free copy of this book via Wildfire Marketing Solutions and the author and the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sugarloaf Ridge Lies is book 2 in the series by Jennifer Ryder. I was taken back to the small town where its secrets and lies are protected or they were until the new teacher, Liv comes to town and takes Jerry by surprise.
The story of Jerry and Liv is sweet but not without its secrets and lies that have the power to heal and destroy not only them but the people in Sugarloaf Ridge. Old familiar family members come together with new, including Finn, Penny and Bernie. The story makes you feel like you are right there with them and is honest.
I loved the journey, unexpected twists and mix of emotions I felt with each turn of the page. This book is an easy read that I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend. Can be read as a stand-alone but all the better after having read book one. Questions and loose ends answered but not all.
From the stunning cover, to the beautiful storyline, Author Jennifer Ryder has done it again. Olive and Jericho’s story is a wonderful blend of mystery, romance, finding one’s self, staying strong and keeping promises.
Sugarloaf Ridge Lies is the second book in the series and is such a good read! A teacher, trying to escape her father’s eyes and awful history and a farmer trying to overcome his reputation in the small town.
I really enjoyed this book! The characters and town of Sugarloaf Ridge were wonderfully developed and were so easy to visualize and fall in love with. 4.5 stars
I was eager to read Sugarloaf Ridge Lies after reading Sugarloaf Ridge secrets and this small-town romance didn’t disappoint. Jericho aka Jerry is a complex and endearing character. He has a well-earned reputation as a bad boy, but underneath is a protective, heart of gold. Liv is a sweet, young schoolteacher and newcomer to Sugarloaf Ridge with a heart-breaking past. This pair both have secrets and baggage from their past. I thoroughly enjoyed being back in Sugarloaf Ridge and loved the cameos from Finn and Daynah throughout and thoroughly recommend this sweet and engaging read.
Sugarloaf Ridge Lies is a sweet small town romance that had me hooked. Jerry is mysterious and once all his cards started to unfold I wanted more of him. This second chance romance between Liv and Jerry was a good read. The only hiccup I had I wish I read the first book first to get a better understanding of the other characters.
I don’t think I could fault any of Jennifer’s books🙂
Jerry from Sugar Loaf Ridge has had a rough time, it’s only when he meets the new teacher Liv does he realize he wants more than a fling or a one night stand, this girl is special. Of course there are secrets and obstacles that create problems for them but their love is strong and stand by each other. If you want community feels and like small town stories, this book has it all. Thank you Jennifer for an ARC of your new book, I really enjoyed it!
Jerry grew up with so many secrets in his family that if anyone found out it would ruin his family. His just living his life now. His famer and a bit of a loner… But then he meets Olive, who recently moved to Sugarloaf Ridge, a first grade teacher. Maybe he finally has something to live for…
Olive, Liv, has finally found her calling. And that is teaching. When she meets Jerry, she sees what nobody else does, a shy caring man with a kind heart. But she also has her own past to get over. And she is confident that Sugarloaf Ridge is exactly what she needs to start over. Will these two be able to get over secrets and struggles to find their happily ever after. Or will one too many secrets be the end of their happiness…
My first time reading this author. And it was an emotional, angst filled romance that I definitely enjoyed. Like every small town it sometimes seems like you can’t get away from your past. But these two were so meant for each, that you couldn’t help but wanting them to finally have everything out in the open and say this is your time to live your best life… This story was one of those where you wish you could pack up and move to Sugarloaf Ridge 😊 I am going to go back and read book 1 and hopefully I wont have to wait too long for book 3 😊
Just WOW... So this is the 2nd book in this series and to be honest, I was not really sure if it was going to be possible to top the 1st book.. Well, Jennifer Ryder did just that. From the very beginning I was captivated. Jerry and Liv are truly beautiful people. They each have a past that they have struggled to come to terms with and they both deserve a HEA. Of course the characters from book 1 make a few appearances which just enhance Jerry and Liv's story line. There are moments in this story where the feelings of the characters are almost palpable and you will find yourself holding your breath or holding back a few tears. There are some beautiful one liner moments and of course no romance would be complete without the appropriate placed angst. I actually took my time reading this story because I really did not want to miss a moment of Liv and Jerry's story. Well worth parting with your $$ for this one, It made me want to move to Sugarloaf Ridge and have a coffee with this couple!
Jericho has demons from a dark past that keeps him from really getting close to people, and it doesn't help that he has a bad rep which keeps many away, and I wanted to hug him so badly throughout. He knows there's something missing in his life, but he just doesn't know how to find it until Liv moves to town. She has her own traumatic past which is why she landed in this small town for some peace, and she's determined to make a difference. These two were perfect for each other but it wasn't quite that easy since they struggle with things, but I did appreciate the fact that while there's angst that did my emotions in, it's not overwhelming to the point that I'm ready to suck my thumb in the corner either so the perfect balance which is a real talent. Both of these people deserve love but will they be able to let some walls down to trust in it or will it be over before they really get a taste?! I really enjoyed this sweet story & HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
What a delight to be back in Sugarloaf Ridge, for another generous dose of small town romance! This author has once again turned out the country charm welcome-wagon to warm our COVID-weary hearts.
Jericho McAllister is the perfect hero; all gorgeous country boy, with a dark history that haunts his mind and echoes in his heart. It's no surprise his perfect compliment is sweet heroine Olive "Liv" Rosehill, fresh from her own traumatic past, and in dire need of the new life she's seeking in Sugarloaf.
These two are so deserving of the love they can give one another, if they can only trust in each other enough and get past all the obstacles that keep cropping up in their way.
But Sugarloaf Ridge has a unique way of harvesting that hard-won happy ending and this story is bound and determined to give its readers just that. This is well worth the read, but worth having the tissues on-hand!
The first book of this series really caught my attention but I'd say it's nothing compared to Liv and Jerry’s story. They hooked me right from the start and I couldn't put the book down. I might have found a new small-town romance author to read. Because the way Jennifer wrote their story, from start till finish, was just wonderful. I did find Liv to be frustrating at times, ngl. But they bring the best out of each other.
Jerry and Olive’s story is filled with drama and angst. A great read!! Make sure to read the first book so that you understand all that is going on in book 2. Loved it!!!
This was an easy to read, small town, intriguing, romance story. The secrets, and lies, keep your guessing. The characters are interesting, and relatable. Sugarloaf Ridge Lies is a great read.
