Emma is the #1 Amazon Bestselling Author of m/m series such as Paint, Incubus, and Lies.

Known as the Queen of MM angst her books include Sci-fi, paranormal, and contemporary romance and always puts her characters through hell before giving them a HEA. She blames her rebellious muse (who looks like Chris from the Paint Series) for the erotic aspects tickling the angst, and the humor cuddling up with the erotic.

When not writing or reading she herds Birman cats and sons; Both groups argue that the other is too large.

The traumatic and brutal early adult life of Ezra, an incubus, revealed.

When Fabian, demon leader of a vampire clan, compels Ezra not to speak ill of him, Ezra weighs his only option to reveal the truth of his treatment at Fabian’s hands. He must relive his nine-year imprisonment by the demon, in a single day, projecting his experiences into the minds of the supernatural council, his friends and the accused. Alternatively, he can spend another year trapped in Fabian’s cellar, forced to fulfill the 10-year contract his mother made with the vampire. Assured that his vascellum, Finn, will be placed in a magical sleep and will not feel his agony, Ezra agrees to endure the single day.

Those easily upset by violence should find some solace in knowing (from the previous books) that Ezra survives, even thrives, after his ordeal. Certainly the early Ezra shows how his personality can soften the toughest hearts, even those of some vampires, but this installment shows how the incubus hardened his heart to the world. That is, until Finn came along. The unusual relationship between Ezra the prisoner and his keeper Silas, Fabian’s son, softens the brutality, raising a need for a supernatural term for Stockholm syndrome.

All Ezra, all the time, makes this a great read for fans of the charming incubus who made us fall in love with him from the start, despite what he did to Finn. A twist at the end from a complication of the magic used to share Ezra’s memories, leaves us wondering what will happen to the pair in the final installment of this series.

Trials and tribulations

By Beelzebub’s balls, thanks, Emma Jaye, for ripping out my heart. The pain and horror of what Ezra had to live through; I can’t even imagine and it’s amazing he has the capacity to love. I applaud his spirit and attitude in this book. Also it reinforces for me how special Finn really is.

Ezra deserves all the love and cuddles he can get. But I admit sometimes he opens his mouth and I still want to strangle him. He really can be his own worst enemy. Finn is amazing and I love how he’s not afraid to tell Ezra he’s being stupid and to stand up for himself.

Not sure how I feel about Silas, but I totally enjoyed the sheep scene with Ezra and him, so funny. Even with all the pain this book dredged up, it had some sweet and and tender moments that I adored. You can feel the love between Ezra and Finn. I like how their strange family is growing and that in a weird way it makes total sense. The ending is a doozy, be prepared.

Emma Jaye continues to blow me away with this series. This book thus far is the most emotional of all the rest and I have to say that Emma managed to change how I felt about a certain character. I have truly questioned Ezra and the way he was with Finn in the past books, but this book definitely made me reconsider my opinion of Ezra in a major way.

In this book we get an in depth look into Ezra and the past that he was forced to lead with Fabian. I am not going to give any details because if I do then it will surely ruin this book for others but I will say this, I now understand why Ezra felt the way that he did about humans and why he treated Finn the way that he did.

Fabian is about to face the wrath of the council in this book but I can honestly say that Fabian is not a good person and that will come to light in this book as well as more information on Silias. I am still on the fence on what I feel about Silias and his addiction to Ezra. I am not sure how this is all going to play out but I do know that Finn and Ezra have both unwilling and unknowingly have a following in Jericho, Milo, Pixie, Gethin, Glyn, and Emmett. They have each chosen to basically become a coven with Ezra and Finn and are willing do step in and protect both of them. The question is in my opinion, what is going to happen to Fabian for starters? But also what is Silias' role in all this going to be in the end? Can Ezra and Finn and this group of misfits find a way to make a new life together?

Those are all questions I am hoping to get answers to in the next book and so much more. I honestly cannot wait for he next book in this series which is also the last book as well. I can only imagine just how good it is going to be.

Was given this galley copy for free for an open and honest review

“Not going to help my guilt though, is it?”
“What you did was a product of what we did. I’ll add your guilt to mine if you like.”
“Generous of you.”
“You’re welcome.”

After a couple of months I could finally pick up this series again. Like the rest of the books in this series so far, be sure to have the next book available before you start this one because the end could be a little bit abrupt. It started pretty chill, considering the current situation, with all the gang together but quickly, and till the last chapter, the journey through Ezra’s past is full of darkness and suffering.

description

It was so sad to read how Ezra had to convince himself that he was the one in control in order to cope with all the things he had to endure during his captivity. Seeing Silas’s POV doesn’t excuse all the things he did but it helped to know how he felt through all of it. I mean none of these characters are winning a Nobel Peace prize, except maybe for Jericho. That being said, I want them to punish Fabian more than ever, he’s just the worst and he didn’t show a hint of regret whatsoever.

A sad yet necessary book that shows us everything Ezra had to go through. I hope he gets a break from all this suffering in the next installment, but with this series you never know.

This was all about Ezra, and it was great to finally get a good glimpse of his past and how it's affecting his present. Still steamy and lust-filled, this story answered some questions about Ezra that I had wondered about. I loved the characters, and I also loved that this book was longer than the others to give us more of this amazing tale! Ezra's dilemma had me on edge, and the twists and turns kept me wondering how everything would pan out, would his past win or his present? Another awesome read!

I actually had to wait to write this review because it is so intensely emotional. Make sure to have tissue and preferably chocolate on hand. Part of me wanted to yell at the author because wow, that was amazing but it was so powerful and extracted my emotions so much that by the end the only way I was able to push through a book hangover was knowing book 5 was available.

Normally I would go into a little more detail on character development and world building at this point. I find myself unable to really do that other than to say it was flawless and I'm not sure how Emma Jaye is able to create magic like this but it is highly addictive.

The storyline was full of twists once again and had me ready to fight on the behalf of both main characters. I was held emotionally hostage by this book and needed to know more about everything. Emma Jaye gave a fiery story that gave me exactly what I needed. Though perhaps I could have done with less tissue to stop my tears. That angst though, nobody is as skilled as this author as doing it.

5 stars for an angst driven and addictive book. Thankfully book 5 is available. I hope the author can put me back together after tearing me apart so much.

This one was a little harder to read. Learning gory details of the past changed the tone set so far in the series but was much needed information. In some aspects it slowed it down for me but in others I wanted more. It was still great and I need to real book 5 stat!

The fourth book in the Incubus series was a much needed revelation about Ezra’s past.
A complicated creature he has been from the first pages of the series, Ezra kept playing with my brains. Constantly analyzing his behavior I wasn’t able to put a finger on what was going on in his head, if he is bad or good, why he does what he does… until this book.
Painful past, filled with emotional moments and cruelty, revealed me another side of Ezra, creating a deep connection with this character and making this book my favorite among the series.

WOW! Just wow!!! I love it that the author showed us Ezra’s past. It was painful to read but I couldn’t put the book down. Silas is so intriguing I didn't know if I wanted to hate him or like him. Fascinating character. I’m so so hooked and I’m glad I have next book and can start it right away because after that ending I don’t think I could have waited! Amazing!

Book 4 is a great continuation of this dark hot series. Ezra and Flynn are joined by a small but exciting group od supernaturals. Reuniting is hard on Ezra and Flynn. But oh so hot! I love this series!

Heartbreakingly beautiful

My heart cannot take this roller coaster of a ride the author has me on. First I love Ezra, then I cannot stand the demon, and now my heart breaks for what he has suffered. Knowing he has come out of it with the ability to still love Finn beautiful. I just cannot stop reading this series. This review is an honest and unbiased reflection of my thoughts after reading an advanced readers copy of the book.

Wondering how Ezra got to know Silas and his "father" ? And what happened when they had Ezra chained up? Read Trial, and get all the answers!

"This is what being an incubus is. I'm a demon, a God forsaken, da**ed for all time, demon."

My heart broke for the poor boy, being forced to all that...no wonder he's so messed up.
