A chance encounter with the object of his father's warnings has left Teo stunned and frustrated. He doesn't know what to make of the strange glowing eyes, or what that implies about his father, he but does know one now that the garage is his Johnny needs to go.AJ also struggles with the implications of that night, and what other secrets this city could be hiding. But what do you do when the only person who might have answers is the son of your mother's murderer? Meanwhile, Charlie suspects there's something wrong with his classmate.
It's been a while since I've read a book with characters that feel so accurate to human nature. Teo, AJ, and Charlie are the PoV characters here, and they don't irrationally like and trust each other just because they're all main characters, but they come to their own decisions in their own ways about the options and trials they find in their lives. A story is being constructed here, one brick at a time, and I'm loving the process. Find within heroes and masked villains, suspense and action, the insanity of the unusual and the struggles of the day-to-day.
