When Isadora’s teacher announces the class are having a maths test on Monday, Isadora gets a nervous feeling in her tummy. She really doesn’t like tests . . . or maths!

Maybe, Isadora could pretend to be ill so she can stay at home instead? Isadora calls her naughty cousin Mirabelle for help and she gives her a spell that will help Isadora get out of the test.

To Isadora’s delight, it works! But between a potion mishap and magic pox fluffballs bouncing around all over the place, Isadora starts feeling a bit guilty. Luckily, her mum is on hand to help set things right and together they come up with a new, magical way to say goodbye to the magic pox and even make revising for the maths test fun!

Harriet Muncaster studied illustration at Norwich University College of the Arts before going on to get an MA in children’s book illustration at the Cambridge School of Art. In creating the art for her first book for children, she was thrilled to have found a good outlet for her lifelong fascination with miniatures. She lives in Hertfordshire, England.

I was so excited that one of my libraries had this book in their collection! I just love the Isadora Moon series. OK, well, most of the books that is. Some are a tad too preachy for me, but there are a lot of fun stories in there. And this one just looked so adorable.

In this one Isadora worries about a math test and wonders if she can get out of it. Yes, Isadora Moon, a girl normally not doing something naughty is now enlisting the help of her cousin Mirabella (aka naughty girl #1) to help her out. I was just laughing so much because I could 100% understand Isadora’s feelings on the matter. I would do the same if I was a magical being. Maths are horrendous. Even with practice I was never good at it, so yes, I would have definitely gone for Magic Pox or something else. Just to give me a moment of peace. I loved seeing Isadora collect the items she needed and make the potion. It was great fun how things first seemed to be perfectly OK… but of course, things don’t go so well in the end and I was just giggling. Though also maybe a tad worried because I knew that Isadora’s mom and dad wouldn’t be too happy Isadora lied to them… plus made a mess (an adorable mess though, can I have one of those cuties?).

I loved how the mom was at first quite unhappy about the situation, but then when Isadora explained was kind and together they solved not just the magic pox situation but also the other situation that Isadora was worried about. It was just so sweet and heartwarming. Though I had a laugh. Poor dad comes from his sleep (vampires yay) and sees his wife and kid spray potions to get rid of pink stuff. Mm, I would just turn around dad. Turn around and go back to sleep. XD

I loved the ending, that teacher is just the sweetest!

Oh, and I love that Isadora’s sister is slowly growing up. I was already thinking if this would be like perpetual baby, but we see her really get bigger. So cute!

So, yeah, I had fun reading this book and I loved that Isadora showed another side of herself. I hope she has learned a lesson and I hope that next time she will ask for help first before going for magic.

I cannot wait to see what will be next for Isadora Moon. I would recommend this book to all! Sweet, adorable, funny, and magical!

Isadora a half vampire half fairy doesn’t want to do her math test at school, so finds a way to become sick and get out of it, giving herself the magic pox and having pink spots all over her face.

This is one of the most adorable books I’ve ever read, Isadora is so so cute and so is her sister Honeyblossom. She is such a sweet little vampire fairy and she let her fear take over her with the math test and did something wrong but adorable to avoid it. I loved how wonderful her mother was, she was so caring and understanding an helped her lovingly.

I loved how Isadora learnt so much and gained her confidence, she didn’t want to struggle with her math but didn’t know what else to do, learning it all was hard for her. Eventually she learnt her ways around it making it easier for herself and I loved that she did.

I love the illustrations throughout this book it was stunning and I loved the pink touches throughout the book. The characters were all so adorably drawn and the pink fluff balls and pink rabbit were too cute.

I really loved at the end of the book it had lots of extras included too. So much extra stuff you can do after reading the book which I always love. It extends what you’ve read perfectly.

En primer lugar, no sabía que Alvin Starspell fuese el hermano de Cordelia Moon, con lo cuál, ¿quizás los abuelos de Mirabella también fuesen los padres de Cordelia?

Y segundo, me ha parecido un libro muy entretenido que, además de dar un poco más de lore, también muestra un poco los límites de la magia de hada, por no hablar de que me ha molado mucho que, por fin, le hayan dado más protagonismo a Cordelia Moon y que Cordelia le haya enseñado matemáticas a Isadora, gracias a éso, Isadora logró aprobar el examen que ella intentó evitar en un principio.

Por cierto, ojalá más profesoras como la de Isadora, de veras.

I have reviewed a few of these in the past and although this is book fifteen in the series all will read well as standalones. All easy, light and fast paced reads with beautiful illustrations throughout perfect any young little girl to read and enjoy. Isadora has a maths test coming up, the worst kind… Times tables. She asks for help through her cousin in how to skip the test and the answer is obvious… Magic pox ofcourse, but it soon all goes wrong and the lie soon becomes apparant when pox are all over the house and garden. Can Isadora fix her mistake? Overcome this maths test? Wrong her rights? A well deserved four stars from me.

The 15th in Harriet Muncaster’s self-illustrated ISADORA MOON SERIES for readers aged 6+ takes something that most children can relate to - dread of doing a maths test - and turns it into a charming story about perseverance, trying your best and telling the truth without being preachy. I liked Isadora’s naughty cousin Mirabelle (who has her own series) and enjoyed Isadora’s parents different remedies for being unwell.

I was feeling a little bit of funny when Isadora was in the magic pox and she was so worried when her teacher told the class that on Monday there was a maths test . for the test you’ll have to be prepared for the test on Monday . She said it all to her mother and she was also was worried about the test because fairies don’t have maths subject . So then her mother explained that fairies have maths subject to do. And I also read about Mirabelle I was so happy.

A short, easy to read children's story about Isadora, half fairy, half vampire. She gives herself the magic pox to get out of a test - but then immediately regrets not being honest with her parents. There was Gentle Parenting in this book (which I also love and practice), and an excellent solution to Isadora's problem. Very cute and really good!

I really enjoyed the fluff and the magic. I am also with Isadora I hated maths tests. The questions are always complicated which is why it was fun to see the outcome of events. Fluff balls rule.

un día Isadora Moon fue a clase y la profe dijo el jueves tenéis un examen, todos los niños se preguntaron de que? Dijo de las tablas de matemáticas es decir de mates. Cuando salieron de clase la madre de Isadora Moon le dijo que te pasa y le respondió si si todo bien. Quieres comprar helados ella dijo si claro que si gracias mami eres la mejor. Llegaron a casa e Isadora Moon llamo a su prima Mira-
bella. Isadora la dijo a su prima quiero que me digas todas las recetas que halla para ponerse malita Mirabella dijo por fin me lo dices. Luego le dijo unas cuantas y dijo la de la varicela te voy a dar la receta a media noche haz lo que te dicho llego la noche de eso y dudo mucho pero lo hizo no había estudiado nada y cuando tenia que ir al cole sus padres vieron que estaba malita asique no fue al cole ese día. se preguntaron la varicela es rosa desde cuando pero se lo creyeron luego ella estaba medio contenta y medio triste al día siguiente estudio mucho porsiacaso llego el día de el examen fue al cole
hicieron el examen y le salio muy muy requete genial saco un 9
