Kings of Bolten #3

Deadly Little Promises

Rate this book
Vindictive. Savage. Deadly. Villains.

The horsemen made a move and took me from my kingdom.

There’s one thing they didn’t expect though.

The truth.

With an alliance formed and our world thrown into war, we either choose sides or die for those we love.

There are rules to warfare but rules are meant to be broken and so are kings.

Our enemies know it. And I’ll be the one they use to prove it.

Deadly Little Promises is book three in the Kings of Bolten series and is a dark mafia academy romance with four kings and their queen. If you take issue with dark romance, this book is not for you. You’ve been warned.

DNF.
Trigger warning for sexual assault.
Just skip the last 100 pages. That shit ain't worth messing up your head. I'm just glad that it was vague because shit, I was not expecting that. I'm pissed that no one has a disclaimer about this in their reviews! And I'm mega pissed because reading about the heroine's traumatised body after being assaulted for a month is going to give me nightmares. Yes, the author said that it's DARK, but umm how the fuck does that explain a villain raping the heroine?! I just can't.

YO, THIS MOTHERFUCKING BOOK. Kg and Co was not playing around when they said this one was going to destroy you. But she BETTER be making things right with the last book, or imma send her my therapy bill. That's all all I'm saying.

This whole book is a huge spoiler since it's book three in a four book series, but damn it all hurt. The one who was my favorite is now seriously on my shit list (and he will be on yours too) Dom kept pissing me off, but my heart just broke for him. And then there's Vinny and Levin -- omg, these big men who love their woman to the point of madness has my heart in their bloodied hands. I cannot WAIT until they all get their vengeance. Hooolllly shiiiiiittt.

Baby B was put through the ringer here, and what happened... well let's just say there's a good chance she won't be the B we know in love when we see her again. I hope she gets justice for all that happened though. My poor warrior needs it.

It was really amazing to see the horsemen and Rosie! I know shit is gonna go down at Mayfair and I just can't wait!!

Ugg, KG really making me considering pouring some Whiskey early in the AM cause of all of this, but I just can't recommend this series enough. It's dark and depraved, yes, but it's honestly one of the best romances I've ever read. Go start this series now!!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **

I'm sorry for what happened to Bianca in this one; it's beyond dark, a nightmare scenario, and I struggled to read through it. However, Bianca remains one of the most stupid heroines I've ever read about. To be so clueless, naive, and reckless amidst such danger defies common sense. Fallon always got on my nerves, so this book only reinforced my feelings; honestly, if he were killed off, I wouldn't bat an eye. I understand the author may not share my sentiments. Despite all this, I will finish the series because I like the other characters, and the story intertwines tightly with her other series, which I absolutely love. This book was a real disappointment to say it mildly, but I'm moving on to the next one in hopes that this series is still salvageable.

This book has so much 🌶 and was definitely amped up from the others in the series 🤤

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this series! This book especially was so epic with all the crossover characters 🙌🏻 I felt like I was in heaven getting to have more interactions with the Horsemen. Also, the crossover with Liam from Barley Breathing had me so excited I think I even did an "eeekkk" out loud 😂 I have been obsessed with this world ever since Black Falls High and it just keeps getting better.

So much with the story happens in this book and just when you get comfortable with how things are going KG rips the rug out from under you and turns your world upside down. I had every emotion possible while reading this one...I swooned with how much love the Kings have for their girl, I laughed, I wanted to throw my kindle across the room I was so mad, and I also cried (which is unlike me).

The cliffhanger is brutal but I swear reading this series before it's complete is so worth it trust me!

There is a suggested reading order since a few series and standalones are interconnected but before reading this series or before you get to this book specifically I would highly recommend reading The Black Falls High series and Barely Breathing (Acadia Prep standalone) first. You will appreciate the crossovers more if you do. Boys of Chapel Crest, Rayton University and Mayfair will eventually interconnect as well. So much to be excited for 😍

Dark and super twisted but so so good

Whoa… this book was a lot to handle and KG wasn’t kidding about those trigger warnings. I really didn’t expect that twist midway through and I’m not okay. I really need Bianca to rise from these ashes and get back to being a baddie who takes no prisoners. I might throttle Fallon after this book though. IYKYK. I adored him in the first two but he lost his way here and I’m not so sure he is redeemable.

Dom was his controlling self but I’m really over it to be real with everyone. It’s the same tho by every time - Dom doesn’t something insane and pushes B to the limit in he name of his love so she doesn’t something equally crazy and super dumb then they all get mad and scared. I just want Dom to see her worth and he just doesn’t. Vin is still my favorite cause it’s a playful psycho and we all need one of those in our lives.

To be honest I’m not sure how any of this is redeemable. They all hurt B somehow and cut her so deep, maybe her HEA isn’t with the kings. Ugh this book just has be going nuts after that cliffhanger that I’m starting to spiral here. I really did love seeing the horsemen more in this book which is getting me excited for their next books focused on their lives in Mayfair. Now I just need the last book for the Kings of Bolton to piece me back together.

4 Because Fallon’s fall from Grace made it so

I’m actually a little livid about this book due to the very sudden, out of left field, downfall of one of my favorite characters. Idk where it’s going to go from here, which is great writing I guess, but idk if he can actually realistically come back from the shit he did. Can he actually be redeemed? It was almost character assassination.

DNF series

"I will keep each and every single whisper you say to me close to my heart." book four pg. 323

I am not a huge fan of bully romances, but this was highly and frequently recommended in the facebook groups I am in. I was not prepared for the extent of bullying and darkness in the series. That being said, it's a great bully romance with unredeemable mmcs.. And I would never take stars away for a book being exactly what it claimed to be. That wasn't why I didn't finish the series.

Honestly, my problem with the series was that the main characters never seemed to get a win. I don't have a problem with dark romances, but I feel like there needs to be SOME good times to get us through. By the end of book four only part of the harem was together yet again there were some left out due to lies and betrayal. Also the amount of characters and who was actually working with who was getting far too confusing. The enemies just kept coming and nothing seemed to get resolved.

Also, I couldn't help but hate Bianca. I get that she keeps getting tossed around and doesn't have the connections or strength to fight back but.. I feel like she is strong when it's convenient for the plot and weak when she needs to be put in line to let the mmcs take advantage. Dom continued to go too far throughout the series and yet he is the one that gets to spend the most time with the fmc and keep the other people she loves at arms length.

I don't really like when the harem feels unbalanced, this one is exactly that. Dom is in charge of the harem and the other guys need his permission to touch Bianca.. *insert eyeroll* Girl is literally just his property throughout.

I ended up reading all of book one and two, I skipped like 70% of book three to see if I wanted to continue, got hooked towards the end with what was happening to Bianca, read book four, and then started book five and was just frustrated that the harem was split up once again. With a million enemies can the harem at least be together?

Pace yourself

The Bolten books are packed with action and character development. There is not a lot of downtime for the characters, so don’t expect to get a break yourself!

We’re into the parts of the story that are intricately tangled with KG’s other books. If you want to unravel some of the web, make sure you read Black Falls High and Mayfair. The Horsemen are significant characters in this book and I can see how the ramifications of this book’s events will echo through Rosie and her Horsemen.

The last third of this book is heavy. Like, super heavy. If you have ANY triggers relating to abüse, do not read this book.

On my reread I’ve been picking up even more detail and crumbs the lead to other parts of the Chaosverse. It has been so amazing to see how the stories are all weaving/tangling together and I can’t wait to see what’s in store.

My heart was in my mouth through most of this book and its still there a day later after trying to digest what I have actually just read. The storyline is getting darker, more twisted, deliciously dirty and utterly compelling with each book and there are at least another 2 on the way. I really dont know how I’m going to cope! I love and hate the characters and was in serious risk of damaging my phone with the amount of times I wanted to throw it whilst reading something one of them said or did. And that cliffhanger…..mind blowing! Having said all of this I am loving the ride and am here for the duration, so I have pulled on my big girl panties, now bring on Perfect Little Revenge. Remember to check the TW before reading this book.

So I have to say that when the first book of this series, Dirty Little Secrets came out I read about half of it and than stopped. Because I knew it would be awhile before the other books came out. Now with the very soon upcoming release of Perfect Little Revenge, the past two day's I have been playing catching up with this series.

I want to say that in Dirty Little Secrets I liked Bianca's character. She seemed to have a backbone when it came to her newly acquired step-dad and then the students of Bolten academy. Than in Pretty Little Sins, her character seemed to start annoying me a little bit. I'm not sure what it was but it was just little things that set me off and had me rolling my eyes really hard. Now it this book Deadly Little Promises, Bianca just ticked me off. She just seemed to slide completely backwards, imo. She was constantly being whiney about Fallon, stomping her feet and throwing a temper tantrum over him. She was constantly not listening to what the guys were telling her and putting herself in dangers way. I'm hoping, really truly hoping that in the next book thats there's a turn around in her character. Because if not I'm just not going to be able to like her again.

Now lets get to the guys..... Ahhhhh Domonic, your starting to become a little overbearing (and yes I understand he's being overbearing to protect Bianca) and annoying also. Also your constant badgering of Bianca getting pregnant is starting to be annoying also and turning me away from your character. Next up Levin. Well Levin I still can't decide if I like you or not, for me you just don't really stand out at all. Your just kind of there and do what your told. Or just follow the lead. There's nothing exceptional about you, imo..... Fallon, Fallon, Fallon. What can I say about you? Well here's the first thing make up your dang mind. Do you want to be a King or a Lord? Though with the way things were going by the end of this book you had decided and I have decided I'm not liking you very much right now. Hope you can also make a turn around in this next book also.... Now Vincent, sweet, kind, caring, protective Vincent. Your almost too sweet for this world. I'm hoping that you will never change and by far through this entire series have been my favorite King.

Like I said above I've spent the last couple of day's getting caught up on this series so I can be ready for the next book. Look there was a bunch of things that made me ticked off in this book and made me consider not even finishing this series. Because if Mrs. Reuss is going where I think she's going with it, it's just kind of disappointing. I'm really, really hoping it doesn't turn into another Black Falls series situation where I just become disappointed in the series and start to Not Liking characters, like I did the Black Falls series. I will say of course I love seeing Enzo and Cole making appearances in this book again (and yes I know that Fox, Ethan and Rosalie make some too, but there the ones I don't like). Also Mrs. Reuss keeps making promises that these books are dark. Like some of the darkest stuff she's written and all I can keep thinking is where is the "Dark". I mean maybe for some people these books are dark. But I have No triggers and have definitely read "Darker" books than these. So again as mentioned above I have mixed feelings on this book even though I did enjoy it.

I'm giving this book 3 Stars out of 5 and heres to hoping the Perfect Little Revenge is better!!!!

This is the third book of the Kings of Bolten series and you'll need to buckle-up buttercup, because this ride is rough. Very rough.

First off, this book is dark. Darker than previous books by this author, so check for TW/CW if anything bothers you.

Bianca's twisted journey continues and promises are made to be broken, right? Usually darker books don't impact me emotionally, but this one hits differently. Prepare yourself. Bianca's Kings fight the forces against them, but is there a true definition of who is an ally or an enemy? The lines are still not clear.

The author has masterfully interconnected Black Falls High characters, along with a character from Barely Breathing into the Kings of Bolten series. I felt this was the crescendo of the series, thus far, but who knows what's next up for the final book.

Let's talk spice. In a why choose book, this one has it in spades. Highly probable you will need to splash cold water on yourself in regular intervals.

This is a gut wrenching, leave your morals at the door reading experience. I loved every minute of it, despite the pain this author keeps inflicting on her characters. Alas, trust the process. Highly Recommend.

It just keeps getting better and more intense. The rollercoaster ride this series and the others bring you on is something else. Be prepared for all the emotions. The angst is unreal.

This book was full of twists and turns and so many more crumbs that are getting dropped here and throughout the other series. The secrets keep piling up.

The complexity of this world and characters is addicting and while all the characters have flaws and make mistakes, I love the Alpha vibe all the guys have for Bianca. They want their girl and they’ll fight for her. Also note: I hate Tate!

I can’t wait for the series to continue after that shocking cliffhanger. The world these characters are in, is a dark one and my heart breaks for all of them. I can’t wait until they all come together and rip it all down.

As with the other books in this Chaos Universe, check the trigger warnings.

Wow, where do I even begin with Deadly Little Promises?

description

First off, if you thought Pretty Little Sins was a wild ride, just wait until you dive in for this one! Picking up right where the Pretty Little Sins left us, this installment kicks off with The Kings and Fallon on a mission to rescue Bianca and Vinny from the clutches of The Horsemen. And let me tell you, you NEED to be reading this WITH the context from Black Falls High Series, Mayfair University, and Barely Breathing. It’s a rollercoaster built on a shaky foundation of overlapping storylines, and boy, does K.G. deliver!
description
Bianca’s character development had me cheering like a sports fan at the Super Bowl. She’s transformed from merely surviving to actively thriving, especially when she stands up to Dom—yes, the very King of Kings! I mean, her anger and fiery spirit were like watching a masterclass in personal growth, the little snippets that had me yelling;
Dom: "You are to be silent when I discuss business. I am your husband and the leader of the kings. MY word is LAW, wife."
Bianca: "No. fuck off. I always just stand back while you make demands. Not this time Dominic."
Dom: "Wasp!"
Bianca: "I can handle myself Dominic."
Dom: "NO!"
Bianca: "Fucking watch me."

ALSO can we give a standing ovation for the way she dished out revenge on Cole? Pure magic, I tell you ! One moment I was "clutching my pearls", and the next, I was fist-pumping in awe as she brought every single one of those Horsemen to their knees. Her transformation from damsel to accepting her role as Queen, was beyond satisfying.
description

Don’t even get me started on Dom. Talk about a character constantly throwing us all for a loop! He’s more unhinged than a door in a hurricane in this book, and his internal struggles and actions leave me questioning how redeemable he really is.

Meanwhile, Fallon, bless his chaotic heart, is straddling that line between Lordly ambition and Kingly destruction. And let’s not forget Tate, who’s piecing together the puzzling disappearance of Fallon. Tate, is way more messed up in the head than what we thought we knew. That guys mind is a deep dark pit of depravity.

description

But hold on tight—Drake! I was starved for his backstory since day one, and this installment finally gave me the delicious breadcrumbs I needed. His increased dialogue made him a standout character, adding layers to his enigmatic persona that I’m utterly desperate to explore further.

And that cliffhanger? Are you kidding me? Just when I thought I had a handle on the plot, K.G. hit me with revelations that twisted my brain into pretzel knots. The revelations alone caused my jaw to hit the floor!

Deadly Little Promises is a triumph that has raised the stakes and tossed in a whole heap of drama, character evolution, and jaw-dropping twists. If you’re not already a fan, dive into this tangled world— Just be prepared: you’ll find yourself needing the next installment faster than you can say “Horsemen!”

This book was a DNF for me. I got halfway through before I just couldn’t take it anymore. I stopped at the part where the FMC forgave one of the MMCs after he literally choked her so hard he left bruises and busted blood vessels in her eyes. And for what? Because she was secretly taking birth control when he wanted her pregnant. Let me remind you, these characters are in high school. They’re supposed to be 17–19 years old.

There are a few things I need to say about this book, because honestly, the more I think about it, the more disturbing it gets:
1. Bianca (the FMC) has to be one of the dumbest, most self-destructive, low self-esteem, male-pleasing, whiniest characters I’ve ever read.
2. Dominic (the main MMC) is hands down one of the most overprotective, abusive, manipulative, narcissistic “love interests” I’ve ever seen written.
3. This book is not a dark romance. It’s a fetishized rape fantasy, and that needs to be called what it is.
4. If you manage to read all six books in this series, I honestly don’t know how and maybe you deserve jail time for stomaching it.

Let me break this down a little.

Bianca is the worst type of character for me. Two out of the four men in her “relationship” literally tried to kill her, and she forgave them with sex. Another one sexually assaulted her, and instead of walking away, she ended up falling for him. She cheated on her other boyfriends with him, even though he humiliated her in front of his friends, and still went back to him. This same man agreed to let his friends “take turns” with her in order to save her life. And guess what? She stayed in love with him after all that. Oh, and did I mention he’s a drug addict and an alcoholic who only got high because he was too scared of looking weak in front of his “friends”? Like, come on. Despite all of this, she still “loved” all of them. Yes, she had moments where she stood up for herself, but in the end, Dominic always had the final say.

Now, let’s talk about Dominic. He is the definition of an abusive, lying manipulator. Just because you’re married doesn’t mean consent doesn’t exist. She told him multiple times that she didn’t want to get pregnant, she had already been kidnapped, almost murdered, sexually assaulted, and forced into marriage by this point. But Dominic didn’t care. He ejaculated inside of her on purpose, multiple times, against her wishes. That is rape, even in marriage. He controlled every single thing about her life: what she wore, how she did her hair, what makeup she put on, when she was allowed to speak, where she could be, who she could be around, and even when her other boyfriends were “allowed” to touch her. He dictated every move she made, all while excusing it as being for her “safety.” And when he found out she was secretly on birth control, he almost killed her and still forced her to stay married to him.

The trigger warnings on this series didn’t even prepare me for how far it went. Book one had a lot going on, but I pushed through because I thought maybe it would get better. By book two, I was already uncomfortable, but I was curious enough to keep reading. By book three, I was done. Watching her almost die at the hands of a man she forgave five seconds later was my breaking point. At some point, I just had to stop asking “What’s going on?” and start asking “Why am I still reading this?”

This isn’t dark romance. This is assault, abuse, manipulation, and trauma being dressed up as love. And that’s dangerous, because it blurs the line for readers who might not recognize the difference. Dark romance can push boundaries, but this series stepped over the line into glamorizing rape and abuse. There was nothing romantic here, nothing sexy, nothing worth rooting for. Just trauma and humiliation written over and over again.

I hate how this series normalizes domestic violence, sexual assault, and emotional abuse under the excuse of being “dark.” It’s not. It’s harmful. When you withdraw your consent that should be enough that doesn’t mean keep going because I’m your husband and your body is mine.

Buy some tissues before jumping into this one. It’s dark and you’ll cry.

As always with KG Reuss books, please read the trigger warnings. You can find them in her web page under the Kings of Bolten section.

The main characters are 18 but seem so much older. The content is very descriptive and graphic so it might make you uncomfortable at times if you’re not used to reading books with dark themes.

As I mentioned in my Pretty Little Sins review, it’s highly recommended to read the Black Falls High series (Book 1 In Ruins) first, since there is an active cross-over in this book and not just a glimpse of the characters in that book. Also, it’s highly encouraged to read Barely Breathing as we also have a slight cross over with one of the characters. Most of these books are within the same universe, so it’s likely we will see more cross overs in the future.

The book picks up right after the end of book 2 so we get all the answers the cliffhanger left in its wake. We are still in Bolton Academy and the Kings plus the Horseman, and the Lords are constantly at each other’s throats with Bianca in the crossfire. There are so many chess pieces moving and secrets being kept that I was in the edge of my seat the whole time! My heart double beating with anxiety and heartbreak for the characters.

I’m not gonna lie, I did cry for some chapters of this book. Even if B is strong headed and sometimes stubborn, I completely sympathize with her and understood where she was coming from. But at the same time, I also understood the Kings and their actions. The last 30% of the book was the hardest to read due to the emotional turmoil it put me through. And we cap all that with a cliffhanger that has me wanting to speed up time to get Perfect Little Revenge(Book 4) within my grasp!

If you have read Double Dare You, you know where the horseman stands with Rosie and even if we will get the whole story of what went down in May We Rise, we start to see the turmoil of emotions from Enzo from having a life of danger so close to his love. I can’t wait for these books!!

To summarize: Fallon broke my heart. Love Levin, Dom and Vinny. The Lords need to be unalive. I’m curious to see what Dom has in store for Stella. And I need Perfect Little Revenge ASAP to see how this whole thing will play out!

Overall, I LOVED this book. It was a super quick read. Multiple POV. The pacing was good, and the twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I can’t wait to read the next installment!

Deadly Little Promises picked right off from the cliffhanger ending in Pretty Little Sins.
Continuing with leading you upon the never ending adventurous ride when it comes to following Bianca and her Kings Dom, Vin and Levin plus F in their story.

The narrative was non stop GO GO GO, taking you on a crazy rollercoaster ride full of loops, drops and major twists and turns.
Delivering an action-packed thriller, K.G. Reuss had us falling down the deep, dark and depraved abyss that had us feeling the significant growing suspense due to the mysteries and secrets (that were being kept) alluded to, shocking and surprise twists that will knock you off your seat. And some Red-Hot Spicy steam that had the temperatures rising.
All whilst including a crossover that had us seeing appearances from our beloved sexy Horsemen.

It's what had Deadly Little Promises being deeply packed to the brim when it came to everything that made up the narrative, including a lot of back and forth, ups and downs and push and pull. Ultimately resulting in major whiplash, so be prepared.

This story will not only break you to pieces, but K.G. Reuss ensured that this book ripped your beating heart right out. Only to stomp all over it from the intense, agonising and excruciating pain she put you through. Given the deep-seated emotionally charged whirlwind that was Bianca and her Kings Dom, Vin and Levin and F's life.

Honest to lawd you will feel like you have been severely beaten from how deep and hard the impact was, due to the continuous hits she threw our way. Of which included some major gut punches.
And that was on top of putting you through the grinder a million times and more, given the painful damage she inflicted from the agony and torment K.G. had you suffering through.

It can honestly be said Deadly Little Promises is up there with Black Falls High from just how severe and truly savage K.G. Reuss was in the raw, nitty gritty moments she delivered.
Resulting in extensive emotions being pulled out of you from all the feelings felt throughout.
Be warned it will definitely take a lot out of you in needing a few days to recover from this story alone.

Deadly Little Promises had K.G. Reuss proving yet again why she holds the title of QUEEN of CLIFFY, SUSPENSE, HEARTBREAK and TORTURE.
And with that huge explosive fireworks display of a cliffhanger, safe to say Perfect Little Revenge the finale to Kings of Bolten Academy series could not come fast enough!

Read it with caution. This is a DARK DARK ROMANCE book. There were a lot of triggers!

Here are some keywords for you about this book; Heartbreak, alliance, war, secrets! So much secrets!

This book has a one-word definition of "roller-coaster". It honestly broke my heart. I accepted that it was going to be a hard read. But I didn't expect to be crying this much.

Characters are changing evolving, alliances forming and war is here. These are casualties.

There is a lot of foreshadowing in this book. Be aware.

All of our characters suffer in this book. But not other than my favorite lonely boy shocked me. While I read the pages. I wanted to yell at him. My sweet, lonely baby what have you done?

In the first two books Bianca is a bratty and whiney girl who annoyed the hell out of me. But in this book. You're going to experience a roller coaster. Let's just say I really like her now. But I enjoyed 'feisty Bianca'. K.G. Reuss is a master of 'how-to-emotionally-torture' a character. And she knows how to break a character and then put them together. Then they become fractured but..beautiful. And I am not gonna spoil the story.

The crossover was everything I didn't know I needed. The scene with Cole was everything! They were so hilarious. I like they form some sort of brother-sister relationship. I can't help it. I enjoyed it so much. I hope to see more in the future books. I just know two queens going to get along. I need to see that.

And Enzo. We always see a calm and collected Enzo. This Enzo seemed different. Grown. That heart-to-heart talk confirmed everything I was afraid of. May We Rise is going to crush us. I just know it. And isn't it twisted I can't wait?

After this journey and that ending, I am sad now. Can someone hug me, please?

Deadly Little Promises takes the Kings of Bolten series to a whole new level of chaos and passion. The horsemen play their cards, snatching our girl from the comfort of their kingdom. But here's the twist—truth becomes the ultimate weapon, and in a world where alliances are as fragile as glass, it's the game-changer we didn't see coming.

The battlefield is not just about war—it's a playground where loyalties are tested, kings redefine the rules, and the line between enemies and allies blurs like never before. Get ready for a rollercoaster ride where the four kings and their queen navigate a realm where playing by the rules is a luxury they can't afford.

Deadly Little Promises is a symphony of suspense, passion, and unapologetic rebellion. As the pages turn, the story unravels with a meticulously crafted plot, keeping you on the edge with each surprising twist. Prepare yourself for a narrative where love and war entwine in a dance that's as dangerous as it is thrilling.

This third installment promises not just a continuation but an escalation—an exploration of power, desire, and the indomitable spirit of a queen ready to reclaim her kingdom. If you think you know where this is going, think again. Deadly Little Promises invites you to a narrative playground where every turn reveals a new layer of intensity, making it impossible to resist the temptation for just one more chapter. Get ready for a wild ride!

So okay, I can’t be sure but I think that maybe, possibly, everyone in these books sucks.
Dom’s unattractive form of possessiveness is far too condescending & dismissive for someone who calls Bianca his queen all the time.

Also I’m all set with this storyline or angle that somehow Bianca was in any way in the wrong for taking birth control secretly bc she didn’t want to be forced into a pregnancy at 18? Bc she was lying or some shit? Uhm, that’s a hard no for me. Dom is absolutely the MMC I like least and that’s a pretty significant issue bc he is the bossman. Which I also hate.

In a reverse harem, when these men are agreeing to share a woman, it drives me up a wall that Dom like gives permission for the other dudes to have sex with Bianca. Ick.

And Bianca, for someone who calls herself a queen and thinks of herself as a queen (which, we love to see it girl, go off), really just isn’t giving off the badass queen vibes, certainly not all the time. She’ll go from whimpering in pain bc one of the dudes kisses her while she’s got a split lip to somehow being able to beat the crap out of multiple Bratva bros on more than one occasion? The math just isn’t mathing for me.
Also, like, grow a backbone in regard to Dominic. Bc he’s honestly just the worst and even though you say how mad he makes you and you throw your tantrums when he gives you orders, he just keeps pushing and then you give in. Lame. Her whole character is super inconsistent, like the author tried to make her have every type of FMC in one person and instead she is none.

Anyway, I am going to be spending some time away from these so-called Kings (&Queen) of Bolten bc they drive me crazy and not in like a “wow what a complex relationship and plot line” kind of way. More in a “everything is so dumb and I’m not even having fun” kind of way. I may or may not return to read books 4-6.

Oh my God I don’t even know what to say about this book. KG warned everyone in her groups that this book would destroy us and rip our hearts out and she was not lying. Seriously guys, we started a support group for people who needed it after reading this book. Be prepared before you read this because it is definitely not easy to get through and mind the trigger warnings because they are no joke. I feel so badly for Bianca, she has gone through so much that she doesn’t deserve. I am not happy with F-word and I know I’m not the only one but that’s all I can say about that. Dom did something that upset me as well and it was very shocking when it happened, but I won’t give any spoilers, you’re just not gonna be very happy with him either.
Talk about a book hangover, I stared at my wall for a full 10 minutes after I finished reading and literally didn’t know where to go from there. I cannot wait for Perfect Little Revenge and Mayfair. As always, the steam was on point and we get some really hot MM action in this book which I absolutely loved and I’m really hoping that we get more. It was so awesome to see the horseman again who play a very large part in DLP and I know they will continue to do so in the rest of the series which I am so happy about! If you don’t know who the horsemen are, I suggest you read Black Falls High the complete series so you understand the character crossover that starts in Pretty Little Sins.

Steam: 🌶🌶🌶🌶
Angst: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Violence: 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸

✅ Dark and twisted
✅ Forced breeding
✅ Reverse Harem
✅ Crossover with Black Falls High
✅ M/M
✅ Kidnapping/Violence
✅ Massive trigger warnings

Title: Deadly Little Promises
Author: K.G. Ruess
Series: Kings of Bolton #3
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶

Deadly Little Promises, Kings of Bolton #3, is another one of my favorites. I can't get enough of the Kings; Levin, Vincent, and Dominic are everything you'd want and more. Of course, you can't forget about their queen, Bianca.

These characters never get much down time, there's always something going on or some fued with another group of people. KG keeps us readers on our toes and our hearts in a vice grip. I'm always on the edge of my seat, biting my nails to the quick while reading her books, and it was no different with Deadly Little Promises. DLS starts off with a BANG, quite literally. I love the character development in every book KG writes as well as how the story develops. There's constant character feuds, constant wars and new alliances made, but that doesn't stop bad men from doing bad things and before long the KOB will need the horsemens help when someone decides they want to take the one thing that means the most to the KOB. The KOB are scrambling, trying to figure out who crossed them. Of course, Deadly Little Promises ends on quite the cliffhanger as all of KG's books do.

I loved and hated this book for so many different reasons. A lot of characters in this book do some crazy things, and for that, I ended up disliking some characters that I thought I loved. Loyalties will be tested in this book, and some will make it, others won't. I highly recommend this book and this series if you love lots of mafia style reverse harem dark romances with a lot of spice and action.

a damn nightmare

Deadly Little Promises is book three in the series Kings of Bolten by author K.G. Reuss. So I had to stop this series for a brief time to grab another book that’s connected to this series as well as the others. And I honestly don’t know if I’m ready to delve back into this world. That book was Barely Breathing and I can legitimately say I need a moment. OK so I’m back as you can see. I did start reading Kings of Bolten series again. It’s like 2 o’clock in the morning and this book took me forever to read. I had to put it down & walk away do a load of laundry- start reading again - stop and take my dog out for a walk vome back and read again- anything to escape. This book ravaged my soul.
First, I wanted to shake Dominic- basically say why are you being such a dick! Fallon hasn’t betrayed you. But then Fallon changed. He became something different. He let the monster out. And then Bianca was taken by a whole new monster, and she was left in a world of nightmares. Now Fallon is up to something and I want to reach into the pages of the book and smack him not shake him, but smack him and tell him what the hell are you doing? Oh, apparently other characters are rising from the dead. And Drake he’s a whole new element- I don’t even know how or what, he’s on a totally different level. He’s kind of bad ass. I’m hoping he gets his own story soon.
So right now I’m sitting here writing this review, thinking maybe I should play some games on my cell because I don’t know if I have it in me to start book 4 yet. But I hear the whispers, it’s calling me and it seems I’m addicted to the darkness.
Enjoy!!

O.M.G…I have so much going through my head right now. I really can’t wait for Perfect Little Revenge (Bianca and the Kings story in the conclusion of Kings of Bolten), May We Rise, When We Fall, (Rosie and the Horsemen’s story in Mayfair University Duet), These Shattered Lies (Rosie and the Horsemen continued in The Horsemen of Ruin series), Double Dare Me (Jamie, Colt, and Spenser story in part of the Mayfair University series), and Barely Alive (Asha and Liam’s story in the Acadia Prep series). So many series that are connected. K.G. has a gift with her writing and producing stories I can’t get enough of. Deadly Little Promises was filled with sooo much twists, turns, things going sideways, drama, angst, all the feels, and so much panty melting heat!! The best elements in my book! You, readers, will be always be kept on your toes as you try and anticipate what’s coming and then to find out you were wrong and something completely mind blowing happened instead! I have to admit that Fallon has definitely changed the most from from Dirty Little Secrets to Deadly Little Promises but then again I guess Bianca and all of the Kings have to, But Fallon is the one that surprised me the most, I highly recommend Deadly Little Promises, Kings if Bolten series, and K.G. Reuss as an author. You will not be disappointed although K.G. Does say in her foreword to read Black Fall High series , Barely Breathing, and Double Dare You to see who is who and what happened to shape them. Happy Reading!!
