There's no place for heart in a coven like mine. We are three witches, working from the shadows, weaving the fate of the new supernatural world. A world in which I know my place.
I am The Maiden, pure as can be.
Then, a raven shifter finds me.
He is darkness and seduction. Danger and forbidden craving. He draws out every wild desire and tempts me to step away from the light.
But he is cursed. A dark king in the making.
Soon I must choose: to resist temptation and risk his death, or to embrace my own dark power.
This good witch is about to turn bad.

Captivating, entertaining and just amazing. Get this book!
Worldbuilding: We're in book eight already, and characters we've previously seen in other books are staring front and center in this amazing instalment. While there is mention of 2 Houses, this story takes place outside of them. We're in the Sahara desert in the haven the Maiden, Mother and Crone have created for themselves. Most of the book is situated here but in many different sceneries. My personal favourite was the caves :D The scenes and environments were very well described and detailed enough to relax into the story.
Character development: As I've previously stated, we're seeing some familiar faces :) We have Slater, one of the valued House of Gold and Garnet mercenaries. He was in the explosion in the pub in Dublin in the "Crave Me" instalment. A raven shifter, brought low by a curse of which he's been searching for a cure ever since. Finally, it got him into the desert to Emmaline. We've seen her when she returned one of the lost sources to Zey in "Expose Me". She is the Maiden; she is the one that brings balance and light to not only her coven but the world. She has such a pure and compassionate heart. I could feel it radiating from the pages :D Both of them feel the pull towards each other, but things are not as they seem when secrets, lies, and the clock's ticking might ruin everything. Characters, all characters, really were well fleshed out. They felt very believable and natural, with their hopes, dreams and reasons for acting the way they do. And as a bonus, we see some other characters from other books... I love it when that happens! It really pulls the whole series together.
Pacing and flow: This book is sneaky! It lures you in and then, ever so gently, forces you to stay and read until it's done :D Outstanding balance between all the conversations and the action.
The book: The book was really well written with no (noticeable) errors. There is sexual content described (if that is important to you). It has 267 pages, spread over 32 chapters, both from Emmaline's and Slater's points of view.
Final thoughts: I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, and all in all, I have to say, this author really amazed me with this book. It has excellent storytelling with interesting characters, and you just get emotionally attached to what is happening! For some reason, it just feels very wholesome (while still bringing the spice ;) ) I looked her up as this is the first book by the author I've read, and I have several of her other works already on my list to buy... So, needless to say, these have been bumped up! A really great book. It has everything you want and leaves you with a smile on your face and grabby hands for the next instalment :D
Book 8 of the Immortal Vices and Virtues didn't disappoint. A shared universe that these authors are writing their books in that flows so beautifully.
Three witches in a special coven: The Crone, The Mother, and The Maiden. We have seen them before in the series, this one features them even more.
Emmaline is The Maiden, she finds lost things and makes beauty grow from even the most deadly of things. Slater is an assassin who is good at his job, but he's cursed and knows before he dies, maybe the witches can help him.
Come along and watch the secrets revealed and the love that blossoms, and a true awakening of epic porportions. I have loved every book in this series. They are considered standalones, but I truly feel you are doing a disservice to yourself if you don't read them all from the beginning.
I was so looking forward to this installment in this shared world series because the author is a longtime favorite of mine! This book did not disappoint!! Everly Frost always has this wonderful way of putting a fresh and unique spin on all aspects of the paranormal world we've gotten so used to reading, and this was no exception. I loved getting Emmaline and Slater's story. I will always be a sucker for fated mates! This story had plenty of action and surprise twists as well and kept me hooked for page after page, I absolutely couldn't put it down! So much love for this one!!!
Absolutely amazing! I had no clue this was part of a bigger world including other authors but this still read as a stand alone like Frost promised. The characters and mythology twisted throughout the plot is expertly done. Now I have more books to hunt down in this universe!
This book is super fun. I really enjoyed it because fated mates is one of my favorite romantic tropes. The chemistry between the main couple is insane. I love how they try to fight their feelings but know that they are really meant for the other person. The book has awesome action scenes too. I love the fight scenes and the expansion of the world. I highly recommend this book.
Emmaline and Slaters story was a good one but I just wish it was a bit more in depth in certain parts but I loved the book and the characters overall, especially Emmaline!!
Another great book/story in the Immortal Vices & Virtues world! All of these stories are sooo good. This one pulls you in from the very beginning. You definitely root for Emmeline and Slater. It was interesting to me to read about the coven of the three witches that are sought after, The Crone, The Mother and The Maiden. If I didn't have a bunch of work and family holiday stuff going on I would have finished this book in a day or two. I really wanted to know what happens but at the same time didn't want it to end! I highly recommend reading this series.
It seems this series is a hit and miss depending on authors. A lot of these authors tend to write YA books with a lot of fluff, superficial, characters. Their FCs are usually weak. So if you like this series but found it written by an author you never liked, then stay clear because you’re not getting anything different at all. Spicy means different things from YA authors and adult authors, and this series makes that glaringly obvious.
I have never liked Everly Frosts books. She’s very new age YA writing style and I just can’t relate. Her FCs also give me whiplash and major headaches from how often I grind my teeth in pure anger lol but since this book was being compared to Demonica and BDB, I thought “maybe it’s changed”???
OMG! This book was freaking amazeballs. Corrupt Me by Everly Frost may be the eighth book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues series but it's also one of my favorites in the series. Between the secrets, lies, and betrayal, how could it not be, and all of that is wrapped in a stunning romance that made me feel all bubbly. Yes, the story was awesome but the characters were equally awesome. If you read the other books, then you would have encountered the main characters before. The Three, also known as the Triarchy, have been mentioned and shown up in a few books. Emmaline had a lone appearance in Expose Me. As for the male protagonist, Slater, he had a small role in Crave Me, which is Vesperus' story.
Emmaline's role in the fates is the Maiden. She is caring, honest, and pure but also kinda and docile. When Slater crashes, quite literally, into her life, she gets some spunk, there is a fire burning in her and she wields it perfectly. Emma was an odd character, a person that is withdrawn from the so-called "norm" that she doesn't act the way anyone would think, she reacts according to her heart and it was great.
Are we sure Slater is a raven shifter because he certainly gets all growly and protective, like a wolf? The connection between Emmaline and Slater is instant and strong. It was nice having a couple who vibe from the start and had only outside forces and situations affecting their relationship. Slater and Emma are perfect together, both protective, respectful, and caring. Emma being the Maiden caused some issues but not too much because things sure did get hot.
I love that all the books have overlapping characters, a few familiar names were mentioned and I loved it. However, I really have to talk about Ethna, The Crone, and Eugenia, the Mother. Those two shady witches. For being that control the Fates of so many others I did not like how they react, to almost every situation. The pair react quickly and harshly, without stopping to consider anything. They are more likely to kill than anything else. The pair rubbed me the wrong way, especially for a few reasons but they have their reasons, most being a traumatic past. The women aren't evil just grumpy.
This book was stunning. The mix of magic and mythology was perfect, Everly's twist on the Fates, from classic mythology, actually being super powerful witches was glorious. She blended the two seamlessly, not only did readers get the tea about the witching world and believe me that was a whole mess and a half but then add in the classical Norse mythology elements such as ravens (including raven shifters), Odin, and even the tapestry of everyone's fate was woven into the story to make for one compelling read. The best part was, the story was also loaded with plenty of magic, most of it being Emmaline's. I loved her version of magic, it was almost like wishcraft with the addition of potions. It was totally cool. The dramatic plot twist at the end tied everything together in a way that made absolute sense and gave the way for a great ending.
Corrupt Me was life. I love this series more and more, with each book I read, and Corrupt Me just made me love it even more. Everly Frost did a fantastic job, bringing the characters to life and creating a story that touched my heart. Somehow, Everly was able to fit an epic romance into a single book and did a fabulous job of it. If Everly's other books are written just as well as this one she's found a new fan. I can't wait to dive into her other books.
The Immortal Vices and Virtues series is different from other series. Here is summary of why this series is different. A group of indie authors got together, created a world and decided that each of them should write a book with characters who live in the world they created. I am sure that it is a little bit more complicated than that, but you get the jest. Each month a new book is released, by a different author, with a different couple. They can be read as standalone or as part of the series. This allows the readers to discover authors that they may not have found without this series. Corrupt Me is the 8th book in this series and the first written by Everly Frost. Both characters have been introduced in previous books.
The threads of fate are weaved by The Coven of Three- The Crone, The Mother and The Maiden. There are other names for their coven- The Triarchy, The Three not sure if that matters too much. What does matter is they are hecka powerful and hecka scary. To seek them out is to bring about certain death for you. If death is already knocking on your door, seeking them out may be your only option. It was for Slater, a raven shifter who was cursed. By whom, he does not know. To what end, he does not know. All he does know is that he has exhausted all other options and so he follows the thread of fate in hopes of finding The Coven of Three. Emmaline’s power allows her to find, retrieve and protect lost things. It is her power that brings Slater to crash literally right into her or did it have her crash into him? Regardless, the connection between the two is undeniable. So much so that for the first time ever, she stands against her sisters.
Slater and Emmaline’s chemistry is off the charts. Her light calls to his dark. She will do anything to protect him. His need to protect her is just as high. They do not understand the connection to begin with regardless they still accept it. This allows them to get to know each other on a level that usually is not found in Fated Mates novel. I think that is one of the things I love about this book. It breaks apart the usual genre stereotypes and allows a true relationship to be created. One with mutual respect and understanding.
If you want a fast pace, action packed book that sprinkles emotional insight here and there look no more, just one click. When the reason of the curse as well as the identity of who cursed him is revealed, colored me shocked and yet not shocked. Will they save him in time? Or will they have to be the ones to kill him?
Another great addition to the Immortal Vices and Virtues series, the more books I read in this world the more stories it opens up and I hope we get more especially from Adaline she definitely sounds like she needs a Novella after all she's been through. I always love a good fated mates story ♡ I also loved the fact that this story followed The Maiden, The Mother and The Crone after they've popped up so many times throughout the series ♡
The Maiden aka Emmaline is part of a coven which consists of herself, The Mother and The Crone many call them the fates. The Maiden is know for her purity she is divine light to her sister's darkness, they balance each other perfectly. But when her tree of lost things draws her towards a shifter raven outside of their hidden sanctuary she never knew that her fate was about to be changed. Slater is cursed and he's been tracking the fates for months drawn to them through their whispers of power that only he is able to track, he seeks them for their help but no one approaches the fates and lives to tell the tale. Drawn to Slater by the same tendrils that draw him near, Slater and Emmaline literally crash land their first meeting. He's covered in darkness and somehow her light is drawn to him, she rescues him and brings him into the sanctuary hiding him from her sisters but it's not long before they discover him and try to take him out what they don't expect is for Emmaline to stand up to them and protect him, she begs them to help him and the curse that's taken hold, eventually the reluctantly agree. But the more time the pair spend together the more their darkness and light mingle together. Her light cancels out some of his darkness but what happens when a Maiden who has vowed to remain pure begins walking dangerously close to the line of breaking her vow in order to have a future with a man she barely knows. Finding the person who placed his curse will be no easy feat, when The Mother and The Crone escaped the old country which was war torn the brought with them a baby. Emmaline. Emmaline may know where she came from but her sister's have kept hidden some truths and when everything comes to light along with the person who cast the curse, Emmaline will have to decide if she continues on her path with her sister's or will she be who she was truly destined to be and leave the life she's always known behind.
This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Everly Frost!
Corrupt Me is the eighth standalone book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues world and tells the story of Emmaline and Slater.
Every time I get a book set in the Immortal Vices and Virtues world on my kindle, I get so excited. I’m so in love with this Fantasy Romance series because I get to know new authors, and I get to read amazing stories set in the same world. I even sometimes read about previous characters in some of the other books in the Immortal Vices and Virtues world, and that makes me so happy! I’m so glad that I discovered this book series, and Corrupt Me by Everly Frost was a great addition to the series!
Corrupt Me tells the story of Emmaline and Slater. Emmaline is the Maiden, she’s part of a witch coven with the Mother and the Crone. Slater is a raven shifter who has been cursed. Their paths cross and they can’t help this connection between them. I really liked getting to know Emmaline and Slater, they’re both interesting characters and I really enjoyed reading about them together. I’m also really happy with their ending!
Corrupt Me was yet another amazing book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues series. This book was fast-paced, well written and a good combination of love and action. It was nice to read about Slater, we get to know him briefly in Crave Me, the fourth book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues series, and Emmaline, we get to know her briefly in Expose Me, the fifth book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues series. I’ve been interested in both characters so it was nice to finally read about them! I’m really looking forward to the next book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues series!
A Myth-based Plot & Natural Character Chemistry in a Vivid World Yields an Enthralling Story
Everly Frost is admittedly a favorite author of mine, so I started this book with high hopes. I was not disappointed. Frost has the unique ability to take familiar aspects of known myths and revive them. She is also masterful at weaving tales together, dropping easter eggs, and constructing or expanding worlds, which makes her a great fit for this shared universe.
Corrupt Me features two characters briefly encountered in previous books from this series, Slater (Crave Me) and Emmaline (Expose Me). Readers also glimpse a few other familiar characters, while meeting a cast of new folks and entering a different land. This leads me to what I feel is the greatest strength and the biggest weakness of this book; ironically that is in Frost’s excellent writing. The world and characters are so well-built that by the time you reach the end, you are just not ready, it almost feels rushed, and you still want more. That said, there are no cliffhangers and you do have all the answers. This is just purely not wanting a wonderful story to end.
Check it out for yourself!

Emmaline is a witch known as the Maiden. She was raised by two witches, the Crone and the Mother. She can make potions, sense lost things and find them, make portals, and cast other few spells, like protection spells. Little did she know, she was capable of so much more. 🫣 The truth about her began to unravel when a raven fell near her coven. But, it wasn't just a raven, it was a shifter whose name was Slater! 😮
Slater is raven shifter who was cursed in Crave Me (Immortal Vices and Virtues #4). He was flying across the Sahara desert to find the coven of the Crone, the Mother, and the Maiden because he believed that these witches were the only ones who could break his curse. (He was right, of course. ✅) After he was saved by Emmaline from nearly dying (due to exhaustion, dehydration, and the curse), he managed to convince her to help him break his curse. However, the Crone and the Mother didn't want to help him, so Emmaline did the convincing part. Finally, they agreed. 🙌 (Special thanks to Odin, the leader of the House of Spirit and Sapphire.)
While the three witches searched for a cure for Slater's curse, Emmaline discovered the truth about her past and real identity, along with who cursed Slater.
I already knew Slater and Emmaline were fated mates because of the insta-lust between them. I prefer slow burn tho, but it's okay. The plot is still good. I love how Emmaline and Slater protected each other. Emmaline's character went from a meek woman to a strong and powerful witch, while Slater was so supportive of her.
I think Slater's wings are the MVP in this story. Those wings are really strong! 💪

As always this is the latest in the #ImmortalVicesAndVirtues series and they’re all #Standalone so you can read them out of order but I do recommend reading them in order to catch the character crossovers and the little #EasterEgg hints

#Spice - 🌶️🌶️
I’m liking the lines I can draw here, in my mind I’ve likened our MCs to these two deities:
A coven of three; Maiden, Mother, Crone Aka Hecate
A raven - a shifter - a dark king in the making Im thinking Odin although there’s already an Odin in this series if I remember rightly so it could be more the raven drawn to Hecate, wonder where the “dark king” thing comes in…
Slater - I’m trying to remember Slater in Crave Me, all I can remember is the white feathers being mentioned damn covid brain, did he get injured in the explosion that Nyx was framed in? I hope there’s an explanation 🤦🏼♀️. Oh there is! I was nearly right - buzzin!
First off I’m going to say this one ended way quicker than I was prepared for! It was like “Whomp there it is” and end.
I feel a bit bereft I was really into it!
Okay so the dark king thing makes sense!
I really enjoyed this and I really enjoyed the relationship between the three
Lovely ready, lightly spiced with excellent tension!
Corrupt Me by Everly Frost is the eighth book released in the Immortal Vices and Virtues Universe. This is a spicy paranormal romance novel with fated mates, shifters, witches, and the tangle of fates.
The Immortal Vices and Virtues novels are standalone books, written by different authors, but they occur in the same universe. I highly recommend reading these books as a series, and in order, so that you understand some of the backstory.
Corrupt Me tells the story of Emmaline, the pure Maiden from the Triarchy, the coven of three witches who weave the tale of the world in the Fates. Emmaline knows her place, at the side of her sisters, keeping the values of purity, peace and heart, that is, until a raven shifter unexpectedly lands almost in her lap.
Slater, a mercenary from the House of Gold and Garnet, never expected to be cursed with dark magic and on a last ditch mission to find the only beings who could save him, but after following a thread of magic through the desert only to find a pile of rubble and the hot desert sand looming up to meet him, the last thing he expects is to feel an instant powerful connection to the woman rushing to his side.
I loved this book- loved the chemistry, loved the character growth, loved seeing the witches' ancestral world, and loved the few little snippets of characters we've already met from the other books.
Looking for your next good witch goes bad book? Go on and be tempted in Corrupt Me!
☆ I received an ARC of this book from the publisher, which in no way sways my honest opinion, as stated in this review ☆
4.25 stars, really enjoyed this spicy, suspenseful addition the Immortal Vices and Virtues world! We originally met Slater in Crave Me, where his curse story first made an appearance. Now, fully accepting that he has actually been cursed, Slater is in search of the witch triarchy, the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone, who are allegedly the only ones who can help him. Even though they are hidden, actively cloaking themselves from others with strong magic, Slater’s tracking skills, along with another pull that he can’t explain, draw him to the desert where their compound is. Emmaline is the Maiden, pure and the light magic of the triad. She senses Slater’s approach, and her entire world is suddenly thrown off it’s axis. She finds herself drawn to him, unable to explain why, but unable to deny that there is some connection between them.
This is an interesting story, as they work to determine who case this powerful curse, and why. The pull between Slater and Emmaline, their chemistry, is palpable. There’s also an unexpected, extra protective layer to Emmaline in regards to Slater - definitely something you don’t see as often, with her protecting him. But he’s cursed, and definitely deteriorating, and she’s compelled to help and care for him, so she does. The dynamic between the witches’ triarchy is also quite fascinating. They each have their own very important role, and while it’s seemingly to be a balance of power, there seems to be an inherent imbalance, and there is a definitely extra protectiveness of the Mother and the Crone in regards to Emmaline. Emmaline is definitely the pure soul, seemingly quite innocent, and yet, she’s also quite strong, and she understands the darkness and difficulty that permeates the world.
The relationship between Slate and Emmaline is so second nature. They just immediately take to each other, and there is an ease and comfort between them that flows like water. There is no pretense with Emmaline, either. She is very open and forthright, which brings out the same in Slater. I loved the way their relationship grew - even though relatively quick, it felt natural and completely worked. As the secrets of not only Slater’s curse are brought to the forefront, there also some surprising revelations in regards to Emmaline, and I loved this extra twist to the plot and how Emmaline more than embraces her strength and destiny.
Overall, a great story with interesting characters and a fast moving plot. The spice was excellent, and I definitely loved the overall evolution of their love story. These books continue to be highly enjoyable, and the overall universe just gets more and more robust and exciting.
**Corrupt Me is a standalone paranormal romance set in the Immortal Vices and Virtues Universe. Every book has a happily ever after with no cliffhanger. Corrupt Me is recommended for readers 17+ due to language, mature themes, and sexual situations. Each book is a standalone and can be read without reading the others. However, Every book is amazing and I recommend reading in order to enjoy the entire series.
This one follows Emmaline who is the Maiden and Slater who is a Raven shifter. This one is absolutely my favorite of the series so far. There was just something about their characters that I resonated with. Emmaline is supposed to remain pure but struggles because she is drawn to Slater. Slater feels an immediate connection with Emm but is unsure what exactly they are to each other. You see, Emmaline is part of the Mother, Maiden Crone Coven of withes. She must remain pure to balance the light and dark in their magic. If her sisters find out that Slater is in their protected and hidden home, they will kill him. Can Emmaline protect and help slater who is cursed before her sisters kill him?
I really fell in love with this story. As I said earlier, there was just something about these characters that I really enjoyed reading about. The story was fast paced and never had a dull moment. There was just the right amount of angst, action and romance to make this book an outstanding read. I started it one afternoon and did not stop until I finished the book. I needed to know what was going to happen. If you need a great book that will keep you interested, pick this one up. This one gets 5 stars from me.
Another fantastic book from the Immortal Vices and Virtues universe and another amazing story by Everly Frost! This time, we get both POVs from the main characters, which we don't normally have with Everly's books, but she really nailed Slater! So Slater is a rare Raven shifter. He lost his family during the first war. We had a glimpse of him in an earlier book, but this time, we delve into his personality and follow his fate to the witch Maiden, Emmeline. Can she save him from the curse that has been set upon him? Emmeline was raised by the Crone and the Mother in their coven of three. She is strong and sure of herself, kind-hearted and powerful, but not cocky, a trait all Everly's leads have! The compassion she shows even when others have wronged her or hurt her is awe-inspiring. This story is action-packed from the start. It is also a fated mates story, and we follow that closely while Slater and Emmeline build on that bond. We also get a glimpse of the next book to come out, starring Liv from No Mans Land circus. I also hope to see Everly write about Adeline journey. It would be another thrilling tale for sure!
I really enjoyed this story. I’m a huge Everly Frost fan (she’s one of my favorite writers and, full disclosure, I’m on her ARC team), and this one didn’t disappoint. To be totally honest I haven’t read the rest of the stories in this series, but I have tried a few of them so I have a general idea of the world building.
Slater is a raven shifter who’s been cursed and has no idea why. He’s dying and his only hope are a coven of witches who represent the fates (the Crone, the Mother and the Maiden). Emmaline, the Maiden, is pulled towards him from their oasis in the desert when he becomes too weak to fly. Along with her sisters, they try to find a way to stop the curse and everything that’s coming.
One thing I did enjoy about the story was watching Slater and Emmaline’s relationship grow. Although that was lovely, I do feel like the ending felt a little rushed - there was a lot of build up with the reveal of what’s really happening, but the last 25% or so felt like it could have been expanded a bit, at least for my preference. I would have loved more of the history and to understand what Emmaline was fighting for. But over-all , I enjoyed it.
I didn't really know how that would play out with her being the Maiden - you know pure and innocent. I was like- how can she have a mate? The Maiden, Mother, and Crone usually stick to themselves. But the author was really creative with how she pulled it off.
The conflict at the end was short so you don't get much really of the fighting. She was able to end it pretty quickly. I still don't fully understand his curse though. Why was there death between them and the shadows and stuff. I know they were sharing their sources to balance it out and she was able to pull power from him when needed and apparently he could pull from her too
I totally knew they were mates (obviously) lol but when they talked it about it - they said they didn't think they were because they didn't have that recognition feeling when they first laid eyes on each other. I think it was just cause of whatever curse was affecting him was blocking it out - either way it still drew them together. :)
This has nothing to do with the author's writing - but I am starting to get bored with the series. Its just SOOO Long and its kind of all the same ish but imma stick it out - 2 more to go!
This book is an addition to the Immortal Vices and Virtues world, but can be read as a stand-alone (although I recommend them all in reading order as a few characters from previous books are mentioned).
This story follows Emmaline, the Maiden of the Triarchy of witches, and Slater, a now rare raven shifter. Emmaline is sweet, almost naive in her innocence and is the perfect Maiden. I loved watching her character develop as the book went on into a fierce protector for those she cares for. Slater finds his way to Emmaline in hopes that she can cure a curse that’s been placed on him.
Corrupt Me was a quick and easy read, although I’m wishing there were some more in-depth parts regarding the Triarchy’s lifestyle and the old kingdom. I’m also hoping Jensen and Adeline have their own book in the future! While there were some steamy scenes between Emmaline and Slater, I would say overall the spice level of this book was low but still enjoyable for a paranormal romance.
Another great addition to this series and world! I LOVED it! I was sucked in immediately! If you're caught up with the series, we've already met Slater and Emmaline. Now they get their own story and it did not disappoint!! This story was 🔥!! So much tension from their close proximity. They're drawn to each other immediately and are so unsure about everything except the need they feel. Emmaline is so selfless. She cares about everyone and everything around her. I loved learning more about her and her backstory. I loved seeing her find her strength and ultimately standing up for what she believes. She's intelligent and while most would see her kindness for weakness, she uses it as her strength. She's not to be underestimated. I loved Slater's protectiveness. He's loyal and right away admires Emmaline's heart. This whole story brought the "touch her/him and die" vibes and I couldn't get enough!!
What I Liked: This book drew me in from the very beginning and then held tight for the duration. I love stories about fated mates and the idea that there is a perfect person out there for everyone, but sometimes I lose interest because the couple gets together so quickly. That was not the case for Corrupt Me. The major twist in the middle turns the story upside down and makes you look at everything differently. I love it when a book can catch me by surprise.
What I Didn’t Really Like: There was nothing significant that I didn’t like about this book. Some of the intimate scenes were very idealized, but it’s fantasy so I won’t complain.
Overall: Everly Frost is the reason I started reading the Immortal Vices and Virtues series. It’s an interesting concept where many authors write related standalones in the same world. I’ve liked some better than others, but Frost doesn’t disappoint with the addition of Corrupt Me.
This is my second attempt to read this book. I honestly don't remember when I dropped it on my previous try but this time I made it to the 14% mark.....which is not good. I was not drawn in by the blurb or the female lead's inner monologue.
I think the biggest problem is that the writing just isn't working for me at all. The first interaction between the male and female leads ends with her on top of him marveling at the "feelings" it awakens in her and then to "save him" she has to drag him into her bed through a portal, tie him to the bed and then she promptly passes out on top of him. I absolutely hated that. The male lead is unconscious for nearly all of this which is.....not great. However in his very brief moments of consciousness he manages to ogle her and get an erection.
I am sure there is an author who could write this sequence of events so that it wouldn't make me want to vomit but Everly Frost is not that author. Clearly we are not a good fit.

Absolutely love this installation of Immortal Vices and Virtues. Threaded throughout this book are references to various characters and happenings in previous books and I love the tie ins because it really helps keep this world connected through different authors. Brilliant! Emmaline and Slater – wow! Slater has been cursed and his life force is dwindling due to this. We find out as we read how this curse is connected to Emmaline and not everything is as it seems. Their personal connection is fantastic and how the fates are intertwined adds another layer as we learn of one of the connected worlds. Great connections between all characters (well, not the truly evil villain, but those who stand against evil), Emmaline’s dedication to helping Slater fight his curse, and Slater’s commitment to Emmaline. Really outstanding addition to this world. Well worth your time!
This book is a piece of a huge world that only keeps getting bigger. The only real connection are the characters rather than events. Each book is different and while they may mention others, they each stand alone.
In this one you have The Fates and a shifter who has been cursed. Slater is dying and dying fast so he is reaching out to the cord of life only he can see.
He comes crashing into The Maiden, Emmaline. She felt him coming and once she lays hand on him she can’t let him go.
What starts off as a tale of lost items, it ends in a whole other realm. This book holds a lot of info and a lot of change in a small amount.
It starts off super strong but in my opinion it kind of falls flat in the end. I wanted, no, needed more! It seemed abrupt in change.
I truly did enjoy it but I would have loved for it to be a fuller and bigger read!
Corrupt Me is another great read in the Immortal Virtues and Vices series! Everly Frost is one of my favourite authors so I was super excited for her book and I was not disappointed! Slater and Emmaline’s story is wonderful! Slayer is cursed and dying and he hopes that the witches of the Triarchy can save him. Emmaline is the Maiden of the Triarchy and she’s sweet and pure. They instantly feel a connection when they meet and the chemistry between them is fantastic. There’s lots of action and this story is fast paced and easy and fun to read! I love how all the books in this series are in the same world and even though they are standalones there some interconnection so you get more from the stories if you read them in order.
I received an ARC from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This book is part of a larger series but can be read as a standalone. I must admit I haven’t read anything else from this series but love anything written by Everly Frost. This did not disappoint.
Emmaline belongs to a coven of witches of the three she is known as the maiden. For her this is a story of self discovery and growth. When a strange Shifter appears on their Covens doorstep things start to happen that change her course and to discovering the truth.
Slater is a Raven shifter unlike no other, when suffering from a curse seeks out the aid of the coven landing him in the middle of a war he wasn’t expecting. With chemistry like no other he is drawn to Emmaline in a way he can’t explain. When these two come together the chemistry is explosive. Complete with HEA it is well worth the read.
